This was so helpful, THANK YOU!

We did this excursion in 2003 and we were literally the only people there, No cruise ship no tourist. It was honestly incredible. There was no bridge you had to cross the river.

No extra charge for us. They had to call locals to help us because there was no one there. We bought brittle on the side of the road and ate at an aunties house. I am kinds of sad people found out about this. We have a two hour video somewhere. I cant wait to bring my husband.

We did this excursion back in 2017 and YES those rocks were killing my feet!!! The bridge you guys crossed at the beginning was not there when we did it so we crossed that river on foot. The guide & my husband had to almost hold me up coming back down because my feet hurt so bad😢. I would definitely not do it again. It's an excursion for people who are physically fit or work out on the regular.

It’s definitely not a shore excursions we would recommend for the price. We’ve had better experiences at other waterfalls without going through physical pain or injury. A lot of people from different Facebook groups said they would not recommend it either.

Wow, I did this shore excursion last month in march. I am surprised to hear how long the line was to get to the waterfalls, I don't think we waited that long. Yes there was a line to go down to the waterfalls but I felt like the line moved pretty quick. But yes the hike was a lil strenuous but I felt like it wasn't that bad also. But I have heard many different reviews on this. I personally loved it and would do it again.

Thanks for sharing this honest review! I just returned from this excursion via an NCL ship two weeks ago in the cooler winter weather. I agree that the description of the excursion is not sufficient. I took this as a trip that I couldn't easily do anywhere else, I knew it was a challenge. I wanted to have that on my cruise and had a nice time with my group. I was expecting the 40 minutes of hiking in the mud to get up and the 20 minutes of hiking through creek beds to return and had no issues with the rented shoes. Others sacrificed tennis shoes and just threw them away on the ship. The only challenge on my trip was we did have 6-7 people who couldn't swim in our tour. They needed to be carried/dragged by the guides through the river sections one by one, which did add about half an hour of waiting for the entire tour. I wouldn't do this if you can't jump off a diving board and dog paddle to the side of a pool (in a life jacket). Happy I did it, glad for the memories, not something I need to do twice.

The only thing we did in Amber Cove was go to the hood and got hand rolled cigars and a gallon of 6 month old Mama Juana

Thanks for the honest review 😢I was super excited to book this but after your review I might not book it 😅 I have a question, there is an option to do a zip line before the falls, does the zip line reduce the hiking? I couldn’t find clear answer to that question and I hope you have it 🙏🏻thank you again!

Yes, extremely strenuous walking

We did this also and that hike almost kicked my butt.. no one told you it was a hike uphill.. all uphill

It hike uphill was longer than expected. It was more than a 40 minute hike

Also I will say every single part of that water was crystal clear in 2003.What happened?
