I kinda dive/swim in Oman, near a place called Muttrah. I get to see beautiful colourful fish at times. Mostly they hide under the rocks till you stay really still and they are familiar with your presence I guess. But there aren't much of any reefs around here. I've seen some fish from "Finding Nemo" though. I go back whenever I can to see them again Thankyou for the informative video btw

I just introduced my daughter to the world of snorkeling last week in Key Largo and Islamorada, Florida. And what an introduction it was! We were both lucky to swim with a Nurse Shark and a Turtle. We had to borrow a mask and snorkel for her because I didn't know if she would like it. Turns out, she does! Later this year, we will be visiting Italy, and we will definitely be snorkeling on that trip too.

Great video. Very informative. Thanks. I would add that when trying on a mask for fit, put a snorkel or reg in your mouth. That will ensure a better fit when doing the suction test.

I have had my Open Water Diver for 2 years and have always been diving in warm waters. But this year, I also want to dive here in Germany. I am currently planning a diving weekend at the Kreidesee Hemmoor

Hoping to go to Indonesia next year.

This was a super informative video! A little bit basic, but I’d love to dive the sanctuary at Rapid Bay in SA. I would lose my mind to see the leafy sea dragon in the wild!

I recommend also Oceanic Shadow, it's a great Mask too. Cressy is great, because their price is cheap, but their product aren't cheap quality. I would say around us$50-60 you get a good one, 80 you would get great once. But beyond 100, I don't think there are much better once.

In a lot of in-store dive shops, prices are around 100+ in Australia Online shops have a lot cheaper option.

Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them. I need to get OW certified so my next dive is gonna be at my local dive shop's pool.

My next dive Will likely be in New Jersey, where I live. My bucket list dive site is Baia, of the coast of Naples, Italy. Part of the city Is underwater and it's literally an underwater museum.

Good job - I enjoy watching your videos. I first saw a KZread of yours on a Dive Talk segment, who also liked your info. Heading to Key Largo and then seperately to the Bahamas. June, July 2024. Keep up the good info. I would like to add that by you keeping it basic it, I can see where new divers can benefit from your info.

Signing up for my first diving course (freediving) and need to buy my first mask. This is definitely the best mask video I’ve seen! Thanks Ocean Pancake for all the expert advice. Probably will be in a pool for a bit, then maybe Lake Travis or Barton Springs here in TX to get started.

@@OceanPancake The instructor has fully booked classes for Feb & Mar and is working on his schedule for Apr so still TBD. I’m working on trying to schedule a private class with him for myself and one of my friends to see if we can get started sooner! So excited! Especially for learning the breath work and calmness in the water!

I would love to win, but it would be cool to give the winner an autograph too, it would make it much more unique, secoundly there are so many subscribers who really loved you, like me. 😊

That was a great video. Great all inclusive information. Next week another pool dive. Land locked in Montana and I’m not diving under the ice. Cozumel spring of 2025 for salt water and local lakes 1 April. April fools dive. Hahaha. Keep up the good work. Safe Diving.

Depending which area, you can find things like nurse sharks, morays, spiny lobster, and Goliath grouper.

I can’t wait to get back in any open water - I’m in Edmonton, Alberta, so all our open water is iced over currently. Can’t wait to get back in the local lakes - and hopefully into the ocean in or around Vancouver.

How cold does the water get?? I just dove in 16 degree water

@@OceanPancake there is a shallow lake, 10m, that averages 15-18° in the summer. Then there’s our main dive lake, which is small and deeper, 30m, it’s usually 10-12° close to the surface, but only 5° below the thermocline.

That should be amazing. Do you have any particular dives lined up? Wrecks etc?

I do Sports diving (PSP in france that stands for Plongée Sportive en Piscine) and we also are required to do have a 2 cell mask for safety reason (jumping facefirst with your scuba tank on the back for example)

i prefer a single celled mask and an oval mask, have you ever tried an oval mask Katt? looks cool underwater with a vintage oval mask.

Hello! I'd love to go to The Maldives, or back to The Red Sea, but, as those palces are far away and everything is so expensive now, most probably I will definetively use the mask in The Mediterranean sea, wich is wheree I am from.

@@OceanPancake You can dive all year round without many problems of too cold, In my island, Mallorca, in January the surface water is around 15 C, reaching 30 C, or more lately in July till October. No Big pelagics, thy're really hard to see and never close to the coast. If is a restricted area there's plenty of life, from bass to octopi, otherwise is almost barren because of the excess of fishing. I guess is boring comparing to other zones, but is what we have.

weedy sea dragon , Wobegons port jacksons sharks, blue gropers , some stingrays. Hoping to see them all on same dive if i am lucky :D , those are typical sea creatures in Sydney's waters @@OceanPancake

Hi, Kat, I have just passed my AIDA 2 test and would like to go to Bohol, Philippines for freediving or scuba diving. Hears the water there is not that chilly and great for photography.

No, I don't wear glasses. Just the 2 celled lenses have lower volume and I use it for the pool
