I can't tell you how shocked I was by rage of the reporters and their treatment of the press secretary. As usual, they were creating a narrative versus reporting, which the NYTimes is famous for. The press secretary answered their questions over and over, but her answers didn't support the narrative they wanted, though, the doctor's letter echoed her answers completely. They abused her and accused her of hiding the truth. Once the front row reporters completely lost control with themselves, the reporter mob joined in. Still, the press secretary treated them with dignity, but probably started to fear for her safety. The ring leaders of this debacle should be suspended from future press conferences. Cancel your NYT if you still have one. I've done this, as the leadership of the paper has trashed Biden over the years.

were you angry when Sarah Huckabee Sanders dodged every single question the reporters asked of her under Trump? This wasn't too that level but, if you watched that press conference, it was totally obvious that the reasoning she gave made NO sense and she gave the same non answer over and over again. No one on Biden's team has given one clear answer about what is really going on. Anyone who has had a family member with a cognitive impairment (and even people who don't) could see in multiple examples, none more clearly than the debate, that he is really struggling to even speak. It is not his fault. It is not an attack on him. As everyone says we appreciate him for beating Trump the first time but I'm sorry anyone who watched that debate and wasn't shook to the core either wasn't really watching or is in total denial. (btw, I'd vote for literally anyone over Trump and of course I will still vote for Biden if he stays in, and hope he appoints a cabinet that will be able to do enact his policies because I promise you he will not be able to. People are just in flat out denial about what is happening; if something massive doesn't change he will lose to Trump. Anyways, there is my rant, let's hope this all turns out ok.

I completely agree with you. In my pre-teens, there was a woman on TV who was emotionally devastated. Hours before, she had lost a loved one in some tragic event. Press reporters were there sticking their microphones in her face. I never forgot. Completely inhuman behavior. Most reporters are nothing more than jackals.

Because they will then ask for his diagnosis, and the neurologist, not being part of the WH staff, might not be willing to cover up his obvious mental decline. He might tell the press that Biden has dementia. At this stage, invoking doctor-patient confidentiality would not be an option. It would be exactly like Trump taking the fifth.

Thank you, Lawrence, once again a lone voice of reason. Please continue to call out the press, in more specificity, please. Pleas say more directly why the media are acting in this way (money, ratings) and the hollow cravenness of their behavior. Real life is not like a presidential debate where you are asked questions and you have a limited amount of time to think of an answer and you can't discuss things with other people. In real life, most presidential issues are dealt with by the president surrounded by many expert advisors. Even in emergency situations, top generals and other advisors talk to the president and advise the president what to do. The president is not a one-man band who has to know every subject by heart and think of everything alone. It is not like a memory game. Wisdom and experience combined with the advice of experts all around Biden make him much better as president than Trump who ignores what his advisors suggest to him and does crazy things.

Remember Hope Hicks regarding Donald Trump? DENY, DENY, DENY! That’s how Trump’s term was run…

That's right Lawrence. It was a shame that Karine had to lay into Ed O'Keefe on his anger towards her because she would not reveal the name of the specialist who visited the WH. It is a matter of national security, and Ed should know that. And even when Kelly O'Donnell (don't know if she's related to Lawrence) tried to soft-pedal the same question, Karine was resolute. The WH press is out of control with their blatant disrespect for President Biden and the press secretary.

Wow! I watched the entire press conference and was incredibly impressed with Karine Jean-Pierre’s professionalism and handling of what I perceived as either hostile or just plain stupid questions. I am concerned with those so-called journalists unprofessional behaviour. The fact that the journalists are often misled by false information, not attempting to factcheck, is disheartening.

Same playbook- they also said Hillary had Parkinson’s Disease. Didn’t he sign legislation around Parkinson’s lately?
