I love everything about this video. The watercolor background was beautiful in itself! And the reading of scripture was so peaceful. Great video. ❤ I’m still learning how to not over blend and use more layers with my pastels. I think I’m going to try painting this one. It’s just beautiful.

I can hear, in the sound of your voice, your feet are planting in the word of peace, as you take the sword of Christ in hand, without fear or shame. and there it should always be. ✌️

Perfect scripture.❤ My family had a trial this week, and God used it to put something in place that I didn't expect to be resolved for at least 6 months. Not wise to give too much detail so publicly, but just wanted to share what I could. God loves His children and provides what we need just when it's the right time. (And the trial was completely resolved too!) He is good, merciful, and kind. And He can do whatever He wants whenever He wants.

Hallelujah Michelle. God’s timing is perfect, even when we don’t understand it. How wonderful it is to know that we can trust him in spite of the broken world. There is a beautiful hope for those who know God’s truth.

I love love love Qor watercolors! As you noticed, because of the formula, they spread amazingly in wet-on-wet applications. I'm impressed with how they spread on the Pastelmat. I will have to get some to try the underpainting technique!

So beautiful. I had no idea pastels could work with watercolor. 😊

Susan, This is such a lovely painting with some of my favorite flowers--Corn Flowers (aka Bachelor Buttons) and Black Eyed Susans). The colors in Corn Flowers almost glow and you made that happen!

Hi there Susan, I've actually been using watercolor with my pastels a lot lately. Found I like the final results better than just plain pastels. I started doing it as a lark to fill in a few spots and stretch the pastels on the paper. Love the results.

hi Susan i enjoy your lessons and did n few experiments on different paper. we do not have great kind of pastel paper did do the gesso. i can only get fabriano and will get from Amison and will keep going with your you tubes..thank you❤

I felt so calm & relaxed after watching your painting & listening to your thoughts. Painting on a toned surface is a good idea, it can be quite daunting when faced with a white surface! I thought that the sand coloured pastel matt worked harmoniously with those Diane Townsend pastels, the colours are gorgeous as is the painting :) ❤

@@monetcafe I’m just Shelly. I hope to get back into it. I have not created much since I went through breast cancer. I’m itching to do so. I know I need the right medium to paint on.

I think this painting is beautiful. It is fascinating to watch it come together. I am reminded again that some beautiful artwork uses layers. Even though it feels like I’m blocking out what I just did, there is enough that comes through giving it texture and depth. I am subscribed to Susan Jenkins. I just want to express that I watch despite the religious references, not because of them. I feel that she is sincere and well-meaning. And the selections she chose today were apt after the recent Maine tragedy. I particularly like the Corinthians piece. This is her channel and so I feel she has the right to express her religious views. I can always opt out of watching. And I might. I am not one that likes religion publicly expressed. I know many do and they are often loud in their praise of anything that seems to reflect their world view. I just wanted to quietly express my own view that I am here for painting, not religion. I think Susan and Monet should know that we are out here, too. I do very much appreciate Susan’s watercolors and painting lessons. Thank you.

I like what you said about it being my channel, but I still like to share my faith with kindness, and never a feeling of pushing some thing down anyone’s throat. I can’t keep quiet about my faith because I really believe it is, the truth, and that people will be lost without learning it. So it’s totally presented out of love and a passion to lead others to the hope in Christ.

I’m so excited to try this. I’ve been doing watercolor painting. I bought the expensive pastels (Sennelier) but have been scared to use them. Go figure. I’ll keep watching you to learn more. Thank you so much.

I'd love to try this but I don't have an easel. I used to do pastel and found it came pretty easily. Now I'm trying watercolor (not so easy), but possibly less time consuming. The paper you are using is very intriguing. It's a little too costly for me. Do you have any recommendations for other paper that could work for both watercolor and pastel?

I'm not sure of all of the legalities with some of these AI programs, but I like to generate ideas for reference images and then if I paint them to make sure I give credit to the AI program used for the ref image. It's a good idea to alter the image when you paint it if you plan on selling it. Just use the ref image as inspiration in other words. I'm planning to get more info on this and share in a lesson.
