Watch Showdown: Casio W96H versus Skmei 1278 Clone!

Comparing my old Casio W96H ($30) to a new Skmei 1278 ($10). I was looking for a band to replace my broken Casio W96H band when I found the Skmei knock-off! Considering how cheap it was (less than just the Casio band) I decided to buy it! I'm not sure if new W96H's have these features, but the Skmei has more functions and an EL light, at a third of the price! I don't trust the water resistance and I'm sure the battery won't last 10 years (claimed by Casio but not Skmei) but I'm surprised how good the copy is! What remains to be seen is if the Skmei will withstand the punishment I put my Casio through. Time will tell (pun intended)! Do you have one of these? Let me know in the comments!

Just polished out the scratches from the face of mine and put a new battery in.the battery has lasted true to the claim of ten years.great work watch that may do another ten years yet

Yes, Casio is excellent! Works great and accurate!
I can vouch for skymei 1268 water proofing my skymei is over ten years still going brill 😊

Seems to have better features countdown timer and 5 alarms just missing vibration.

I picked up a Casio 96H at Walmart for Five Dollars! That makes it less expensive than the Skmei!

Very good review, thank you 👍🏻. Could you tell me something? I got the skmei one and the backlight does a buzzing sound when it's on. Does yours do that too?

Not really, no buzzing for me. Open it and check to see if your chime speaker (piezo-electric) is somehow shorted to the case or button. Maybe when you press that it's making sound go through that little speaker?
How does the Skmei have a better backlight than the Casio?

The Casio is not IndiGLO-style, it was before they introduced it. All new ones probably come with IndiGLO type backlighting as does the SKMEI.
Your Skmei is 1 second ahead or is your Casio 1 second slow 🤔

I don't know but the band on the Skmei already broke... it's using a plastic buckle instead of metal. If you buy one or a replacement band make sure they have metal buckles!

@@jasonclarke7422 Good decision, if you can get a Casio at a good price they are definitely worth it. My Casio is still going strong over a few decades... I doubt the Skmei can last anywhere that long, and also battery life. So once you factor in cost of battery replacements and straps and so on, the Casio is more economical than Skmei over the long run!
Acho esse modelo um dos mais bonitos relógios da Casio. Optei em comprar o da Skmei que é imitação por conta da iluminação. Achei o da Casio muito ruim e o da empresa que imita o original é muito melhor. Vergonha em Casio 👎🤔

Concordo. O relógio SKMEI tem recursos melhores. No entanto, a qualidade da pulseira não é tão boa quanto a Casio. A fivela é de plástico que já quebrou no meu relógio SKMEI. Tive que usar minha pulseira Casio (que é de metal) para substituir a pulseira do relógio SKMEI. Acho que a SKMEI faz ótimos relógios, mas às vezes coisas pequenas, mas importantes, são negligenciadas e quebram com mais facilidade. No entanto, pelo preço, o SKMEI tem um valor melhor, e é por isso que comprei tantos relógios SKMEI.
