WATCH: President Trump Meets With US Business Leaders - Bringing Jobs Back To America

President Donald Trump is opening what his team has dubbed "Day One" of his presidency by meeting with business leaders in the White House.
Trump said Monday there will "be advantages" to companies that make their products in the United States and suggested he will impose a "substantial border tax" on foreign goods entering the country.
The president also repeated a campaign promise to cut regulations "by 75 percent, maybe more."
Trump hosted the breakfast with about a dozen leaders in the Roosevelt Room.
Among those in attendance were Kevin Plank of Under Armour, Elon Musk of Tesla, Marilyn Hewson of Lockheed Martin and Mario Longhi of US Steel.
Trump suggested he wanted to hold these meetings quarterly.

Awesome at what? He filled his administration with a bunch of Goldman Sachs people - after he criticized Hillary for her ties to Goldman Sachs (which he was in the right to do). Nonsense blabbering, did you hear any specifics in there? I sure didn't. If Trump lowers the business tax to 15%, then what will the effective rate be? Some companies already pay absolutely nothing in federal taxes because of all the deductions (effective rate).

President Trump *should not* be compared to Obama much longer. President Trump already accomplished more in his sleep than Obama ever could in 8 years. IMO President Trump is going to make *most* of our past presidents accomplishments look miniscule compared to what he will get done based on his abilities and work ethics.

Even things made in America have parts made everywhere else, especially crappy parts from China. I can tell you one thing else, if the manufacturer warranty says one year, you can bet it will last one year and two weeks, if it even lasts a year. And forget about customer service in too many cases. NOTE: Forget about advertising. The more advertising, the more the price is jacked-up. Do research before you buy. EDIT: Speaking of Whirlpool, last I researched, because I bought, Amana was way better. But, the advertising will snooker you. EDIT: +Allamut2909 No! I am not disputing what you said. I believe you.

Yeah Kenny you're pretty dense if you didn't get what the OP meant, it's what Dragonofshame said. The reason they keep taking pictures is because pictures come in a different resolution than a video does, usually a better quality one. They are trying to get that perfect shot at a good angle, you can't just freeze frame on a video and except the same quality as a DSLR will take. Now let's stop calling each other idiots.

Politicians always make promises and typically don't keep them. If you listen what trump says in this meeting, you'll notice specifics are almost entirely missing. This is basically a pep rally with lots of slogans being thrown around. The only thing he got into detail about was one guy he read about that had his life ruined. As president, I'm afraid he'll make policies based on anecdotal experiences which may be out of line with facts. And if you fact check any one of his speeches, interviews, or debates, you'll find that they're 70% mostly to completely false. It's honestly concerning, especially given the position of immense power he's ascended to and his refusal to acknowledge the concerns from experts in their respective fields that he now has influence over.

I'm very skeptical of him myself, but the more I hear his actual policies...I have to confess that I like them. The way the media is portraying them doesn't do them justice, if you remove that layer of interpretation. You have to wonder at the media's motives behind their rabid demonization of the guy. Seems very orchestrated, and driven by the entrenched interests that his policies may threaten. Give him a chance, he's already fulfilled more of his campaign promises than the last four presidents in our history, and his first week isn't even up yet.

President Trump has said basically this same thing in his campaign speeches and I have been trying my darnedest to figure out what on earth people find so objectionable about what he is saying. What I heard was a man who was saying we will no longer allow companies to fire all their American employees and move their company overseas, hire foreigners to make the product and then ship it back to America to have us buy it. Trump believes (as do I) that if a company pulls this sort of stunt and puts perhaps thousands of Americans out of jobs they should realize there will be serious consequences when they try to bring the product back home to sell it. I saw this as being patriotic towards our country. Nothing wrong with that, right? Nope. Today I saw a rioter (I don't call them protestors...that word is too benign....) carrying a sign that said, (I kid you not) "Patriotism is Racism". Huh? Well now I understand why people think he is a racist. He's too patriotic to suit them. Perhaps they get mad at him and take it out on the American flag because in their minds Trump and the flag are inextricably linked. BTW, wasn't it nice to see Mr. Trump doing in that meeting EXACTLY what he promised he would do?

What revenue streams do you have (or can build) that will compensate the shortfall to public services. If you're going to get manufacturing off the ground again, how? Give me something!!!! I might not agree with him on everything, but that sounds reasonable.

We have a small business and he is absolutely correct. Government regulations are ridiculous, you practically need a law degree to figure this stuff out. The government amends everything so you have to sift through so much crap to figure out what actually applies at this point in time. I am so happy and relieved to see a potus who understands what the problems are and who actually cares about the citizens of this country and not just the top .1% of the world. Now if we could just get rid of the lame stream, globalist propaganda media outlets.

So inspiring to hear things like this. If this goes through in the next... 2-3 years maybe, unemployment drops by a whole percentage point or more. It'd be so good to have US-quality manufacturing again.
