Thanks for telling the world that after 36 years of making payments the bank still owns your home because you keep feeding the bank by refinancing a property that should have been paid off in 2003 or at the latest 2007 if you understood mortgages, interest, principal, and money management. I'm thinking the same thing. I bought my house in the late 80s when interest rates were a little over 10%. When rates fell, we refinanced. Rates are just under 3% now. Stop complaining and do what previous generations managed to handle.

It has classically tough to buy a home unless you make many sacrifices. In 1981 I was in the middle class and making a decent wage of 11 dollars per hour. The best price I could find was 80,000. I could not qualify for a 30 year mortgage because interest of 14 percent. I bought a 50,000 home just barely. Then my sister paid 180,000 for her home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today that home is worth well over 2 million. I say this because homes starting at 2 million sold out in the last two years even before they finished building those 30 homes. My sister’s home is on the back of a cul de sac with a huge lot. Whereas the 30 homes have a very small lot. I still contend that instead of complaining, use inflation to your advantage. My sister retired at age 62. And she doesn’t even have to sell her primary residence. She could survive by selling her rental home. Thus just make it work because it can be done.

It’s actually because of increased weather issues in all states. Florida and California have always been costly markets to insurance providers. Now, states like Arkansas and Tennessee have become higher risk states due to unnamed wind (tornadoes, etc…) have increased.

I'm an American living in Germany. Our Inflation is still around 5 to 6 percent. Be thankful for your 3.x percent

They don't make affordable housing because they don't make money on them. The smallest new house that developers build is twice the size of a Cape Cod, home from years ago or even twice the size of a relatively small ranch style house. And if they are smaller they're called patio homes and sell for twice as much to retirees ie: Those that already have made their lives. They're not gonna build it if it's not gonna make them money and a lot of us per development. If it is subsidized housing it is increasingly cheap and ineffective. They just fall apart. Cape cod and ranch style houses as we used to have them would be probably the best.

Romney doesn't want the Republican Party to go the way of the Dodo and he is way too late to try to save it.

The people who can't afford dependable transportation are those on fixed incomes and the ones forced to work for low wages. If corporate greed isn't brought under control, we will see civil unrest.
