Mike Richman finished Erick Lozano via KO in round five on April 12th in the main event of BKFC Fight Night Clearwater.
‘Mike told Bare Knuckle News he felt he needed to take some time off as opposed to an outright departure from bare knuckle. Richman emphatically returned to his winning ways against Lozano who has generated a highlight reel KO over a former BKFC champion previously
The former interim BKFC light heavyweight champion was asked by BKN if anything surprised him in there. Richman stated that the compact dimensions of the BKFC Fight Night ring were part of that. He was looking to work outside angles and use his southpaw skill set while staying away from the ropes which were made difficult by the smaller ring. As far as surprises from Lozano, Richman stated,
“We always knew he had a big right hand. He likes to throw it a lot. But I was surprised by his toughness. I knew he was tough. I take pride in my power punching. So I’m like, we’ll see how tough someone is until I land on them. I know I can put people down. It’s just a matter of if I can keep them down.”
Richman fought in Valor BK as well as BKB before entering BKFC and has maintained his one hundred percent finishing rate across all of his bare-knuckle boxing victories through many weight classes and organizations. He seemed stoked at the reception to this fight and it seems more BKFC contests lie ahead for Mike Richman.
