📺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO :
Having never used Izotope Ozone to mastering any tracks before I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve taken some of what I would normally do on outboard equipment and transferred it to the Ozone mastering system.
I hope you can get some great from this…I didn’t think it was too bad for my first go :)

Really entertaining to watch. Love your content. I’ve learned tons of great stuff about mastering thanks to you.
Honestly mate, your videos are what I've been needing for a while. There isn't anyone out there who will actually show the technical aspects of polishing up a master. Everyone only knows the theory of making it loud, but not the practical aspect of adding flavour and clarity

Streaky's free workshops are amazing! I'm so grateful for watching. I learned so much!
Absolutely brilliant. Can't thank you enough for keeping things simple and easy for us "padawans" to follow. Love your work, sir. Please keep downloading your brain!
Amazing the way you master. I keep learning a bit more every day every time I watch you.
Love these videos, been watching your content a while now. Thank you so much for your teachings. You really have helped me improve my mastering a great deal 🙏💙
Total and simple explanation of how to do things ITB. Thanx Streaky, you rock!
Wow... just wow. Thank you so much for doing this!
This is so SO helpful! I really appreciate how you balance between using your technical knowledge and ears when mastering. Honestly, if you hadn't have said you only had a few minutes with ozone before this video I would have had NO idea. You were using it as if you had been using it for years. I also admire the way you approach mastering. I have a tendency to make the track as loud as possible, but end up missing so many steps along the way (like filtering the super low boomy frequencies like you did). I think the most important thing I learned from you is to not overthink every little thing in every plugin. More times than not I end up ruining my mix with either crazy EQ cuts or wacky Exciter settings that over saturate the snot out of my mix. All in all I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and passion with us. Thank you!
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge man! This is dope. Learning a lot and loving the content.
You are an absolute genius and a humble one as well. I love watching your tutorials because you make this process make sense!!! Very intuitive my friend!!! God Bless you!!!
Excellent! Brought a smile to my face to see the subtle changes and hear the difference! Thanks!
Wow, this made the track so much better! I especially love the way you ised the eq, It brought so much punsh and clarity to the mix!
You're awesome Streaky! Big thank you for making such knowledge accessible online.
Just heard this track in a commercial on TV. Awesome! Thanks for the tutorials Streaky
Thanks for the honest session. I'm just new to DAW, recording and mixing. Just finishing my first song and just got Izotope Pro. This will really help me understand what to look for and how to use the different options in Ozone. Really appreciate this video.
Hey streaky ! It would be amazing if you made a video to show us the best way to achieve -8dB without destroying the dynamics! Thank you ! I love your videos!
Love you vibe and honesty mate. I can appreciate the gems of info you provide in this tutorial,,, priceless.
Again another great fab video. Thanks again🎶🎶🎧
Boom! I've got Ozone 9 Advance and this is the best in depth video I've watched. Thanks again, Streaky!
I’ve just had a go following this and then tweaking to my liking and I’ve got to say it’s helped a lot. Is right streaky, never disappoint! 👊
Thanks! Great explanations. Appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge.
hey man you are my saviour...i worked 6 months recording and all songs sounded like shit and i started to think that i cant sing...then i followed this video and copied the settings...suddenly all masters are 80% better....voice finally not dull and clear and all music is punchy and not dark. u r a master of mastering
Awesome job, love your explanation and breakdown! Thank you Sir, well done.
Very interesting, great job enhancing the sound. Loving your results! I realize that it's the first time that I ever watch a mastering process video! 😂 Interesting how things work outside of my very close and secluded bubble, in a kind of prehistoric era 😂😂😂 Thanks so much for sharing this, there is a lot to learn from your incredible experience and from your awesome tips and words of advice as well! Kindest Regards from your friend François in Montreal, Canada! 🎼🃏🎶🎵🙏💯😁🌠
Man this video is amazing. Highly appreciated man this opened my eyes to a lot!
Fantastic. Just started using Ozone so this helped a ton. Great content as always Streaky. Cheers
Hey Streaky, Your studio looks beautiful. Love those speakers. All the best for 2021!!! Sincerely, Rob (Canada!! , born in UK)
great vid streaky..An ad with "Return of the mac" in the background played which I thought was a cool coincidence
Massive thanks Streaky. Always good to see how my own processes and workflows compare with the pros. Familiarity with the process and the tools and just pure experience always give the best results and I love how you got it across that mastering is about 'adding value' to the track sonically, by critical listening and having an understanding of the interactions of the tools on the mix. Would love to see you master a more challenging track - perhaps a rock track or similar thats already been squashed by overzealous use of parallel compression at the mix stage.
Excellent stuff mate! Subscribed
Excellent content, very instructive, thanks!
Brilliant video, I had it playing while I was mastering a track, really helpful. Great stuff,
First timer here.... It was very helpful to just watch you do your thing without drowning in narration. Thanks for sharing!
Just found your channel, that was cool to watch and sounded great man, hitting subscribe :)
Fascinating, thank you. Amazing how fast you do this
Right on. Nice to see your workflow
That’s very kind of you to impart your skills and experience for free. 🙏🏾🔥🙏🏾
I'm finishing the song and will definitely have Streaky do the mastering because I don't have enough experience myself. He is a true master!🤩
This is gold! Thank you so much Streaky! I just have to say that this is a mix that sounds good already, I'd like to see what you will do to a home made mix scenario, with more problems.
Nice track. Great video as always.
Thanks Streaky your a frickken legend : )
Thanks, Streaky... this is excellent. I don't have Ozone, but your video is very informative in terms of mastering principles.
Hey Streaky :D Absolutely love your vids and super interesting to watch and learn all your tips and tricks! I'd be really cool to watch you master a song from begining to end using all your normal equipment (both hardware and software) to see a veteran's process using all the stuff they have :D

Great job. And keep it up with the tips and lessons.
Thank you for your expertise! I’ve not got a clue, but getting better with your help!
Great video, Streaky. Something fun to do with this is mute the manual ozone, add another , use the 'Master Assistant ' and then compare them : D
You are just amazing . Very helpful videos that I ever watched . God bless you. Waiting every day for your videos
Such a dope video!!!!
I thought you were just a crafty cockney but I eat my hat and label you a genius :) so very very inspiring ! thank you mate.

Thanks for the video ! Nice demonstration of your work. Here's what you could put in and make me (and certainly others) watch for easily hours more : your thoughts on Ozone's tools, a comparison between Ozone and a mastering chain that would be more "yours" or custom (you don't even have to drop all your sauce there!), and also a comparison with Ozone's AI auto mastering! Can'T wait to learn from your next video! - Shoutout from Montreal.
thank you mr. streaky for that nice mastering...tnx GOD Bless..
WOW! Thank you for this!
Great little video thanks for sharing 👍🎧
You definitely earned me as a subscriber - awesome!

@@themikeymaulerproject527 Master assistant doesn't master your music, it just gives you a starting point for mastering. Just like neutron track assistant gives you a starting point for mixing.
Brilliant. Big thanks.
Love the videos Streaky!! I think a few others in the comments have mentioned this but your voice compared to the track is much louder, makes it harder to hear what you are doing to the track, and a gate on your voice to get rid of the noise/his might not be a bad idea :) Regardless its great you're going full wack into youtube, cant wait to see more videos!

I’ll pass your comments onto to Matt he’s the editing genius 👍
Solid video. This is how real mastering engineers actually work (and more importantly- think). Pay attention to what he's saying more than the settings themselves- The settings mean nothing to the next track you do. it's about the intention that lands the right settings -time after time.
Great tutorial!
Great video. New to Ozone 9 in here tryin' to get my cherry popped. soaking up the info. thanks!
Great stuff
Thanks for being an example for us Streaky
thank you
Very good tutorial! Thank you sir..
Thanks for sharing ..great knowledge
actually mastered my Techno track with help from this video! thanks alot Streaky 😂
I’m not sure if you mentioned this or not in the video, but I think it’s important for the people watching this to understand that this was mastered for quality and not for loudness. This is what mastering “should” be. Sadly, this isn’t what mastering really is anymore. It’s mostly the same steps, except you’re pumping way harder into the limiter, or softclipping generously, or both, and then attempting to compensate for the crap ton of squashing and harmonic distortion that you’ve just destroyed your track with.
Lastly u solved my puzzle that tortured me a couple of years thanks mister u de best
Super helpful. Messing around with the demo version.
Kool , Thank you !!
CLEANED IT RIGHT UP,
you are a legend man. that's for all this knowledge dump!
Super! Thanks!
been killing it streaky! your voice is taking over the audio in the video... hard to hear the changes
Thank you!
I got hooked to this song while you were mastering it. And that’s ultimately the point isn’t it.
Not my genre but really good video. I've had Ozone 9 this for a few months, this is v helpful. Thanks!
Goooood Track!!!!
18:56 the limiter in this setting literally does not affect the original signal in any way, because the peaks don't reach the threshold.

So why does this it still make it sound louder? (sorry, noob)
@supremo-official
3 жыл бұрын
@@muitosabao It's bringing up the overall volume, but it's not loud enough to trigger the limiter's threshold (in this case -0.1 dB)

@@supremo-official ah OK gotcha. So the original comment is not quite true (hence my confusion) as it is indeed affecting the original signal (increasing its volume)

I think the "Maximizer" is better than vintage limiter for this kind of track. I enjoyed watching this. I hope you make more of these. Would be nice to see hot to master for Spotify.
