Next time before you take down the braids, soak your hair in oil that your hair likes overnight(coconut, olive, etc), baggy and then take out the next day. All knots and tangles should slide out. Add aloe Vera juice to takedown, even better.

Ooh this is me for long term braids, hair in water during a shower, apply my blue magic and I'm taking down supple hair the next day, the product build up comes apart as easy as when I only have the braids in for 3 weeks.

idk about putting a bag over your head over night while your scalp is dirty and soaked in oil as well, sounds like a good way for fungus to build up on your scalp. Pre pooing using any conditioner and some water should help

It’s super easy to do. I noticed my hair has grown within the last 3-4 months. I wash only 1x a month with a shampoo, conditioner then I deep condition it all on that wash day. After I pretty much braid my hair down in braids I oil it with “Wild Hair Growth oil” then I spray leave in conditioner on it or purchase leave in conditioner cream version. I oil my scalp 3x a week or every 3 days than seal with it with a leave in conditioner. You can use any hair growth oil that works for you or the shampoo sets that works for you. Keep your hair braided under the wigs with your stocking cap (lace wigs or headband wigs are your best bet because there’s no manipulation at all to your hair). You can also add hair vitamins or biotin vitamins if you would like to your healthy hair growth. Leave the braids in for 3-4 or 6 months at a time your hair will grow like crazy. You can also wash your hair with the braids in as well once or twice a month not every week or bi-weekly. After you finally take them down you’ll see all that beautiful hair growth. Good luck 🍀

If you don’t want to wear wigs, just wear headscarves. That’s what I do and there’s different ways of tying. I find the most elegant, every day ones are plain and neutral coloured. Just wrap a satin or silk underneath to prevent your hair from coming in contact with the cotton scarf

Nothing grows your hair faster than your genetics, however the braids will stop you from tampering with your hair on a daily basis, so that the ends won't break off. If your hair grows and it breaks off you wont notice "an increase" which is what people refer to by growth. But if your hair grows and the ends don't break off you'll see an increase. The ladies knew what you meant when they answered but thought I'd answer with specific terminology so you or anyone that might read my comment can focus on the right side of your strands if you want to see increase, because unless you're bald you already have growth. Oh yh moisturise those ends whilst they're in the braids too.

@@daisiesandpandas1218 that’s false because if you’re mismanaging your hair, it can possibly not grow to its full potential. Even if genetically, your hair grows at a faster rate.
