I traveled 8 hours from college in Iowa to Cape Girardeau in Missouri to see this once in a lifetime event and it was well worth the drive. This was one of the most magical awe inspiring events I've ever witnessed. It literally took my breath away. I got extremely lucky that there were very little clouds in the area as I was very worried about that.
Sadly, I wasn't able to point my phone directly at the eclipse until totality because I didn't have the eclipse lens for it.
