Hope this helps to clarify this situation. The Houthis seem reasonable to me: Their order is clear: "Genocide stops embargo ends".

In fact this is a recent quote from a senior US politician visiting the ICC boss to see if he change his mind in prosecuting War Criminal Netanyahu: "The ICC is meant to go after African dictators and thugs like Putin" and not us or our masters like Netanyahu. But then the same US admin like to lecture the world about the importance of respecting the "rules based international order". How can they even say that with a straight face is beyond me. So you see international maritime law is pointless at this point. The Yemen embargo is a decision backed by the majority of the Yemeni people and all free people of the world and so it stands until the genocide ends.

Libya was also a decent place to live but today its a shell of itself. Add Iraq to that. The region is still paying the price for the criminal US-British invasio back in 2003. All have one thing in common. Western military aggression. Primarily the US. In fact there is no major conflict in the region in recent decades that the US is not involved in one way or the other. But what we have now is people finally realizing that seating down and watching is not an option. There are still a few puppet regimes in the region that have not yet go the memo but I think they will.

You're low-information, guy. First off, Greece owns the largest merchant marine fleet on earth, invented the super tanker and owns the largest fleet of oil ships, too. The Greek Air Force is deployed in Saudi Arabia. There probably wasn't a single Greek national on-board. Secondly, the USA uses Greek military bases and also also an American naval base on Crete. They are very close allies. In fact, every President of the United States celebrates Greek Independence Day every year by meeting with Greek-Americans ever since Reagan began the tradition. Third, there are over 20 nations patrolling the Red Sea with war ships, including Greece and Australia. The U.S. navy is literally everywhere; they happened to be close by.

Why didn't the nearby US carrier strike group stop the attacks? They constantly brag about how they protect shipping lanes.

The "nearby" carrier in fact is over 1,000 km away. That carrier, the USS Eisenhower or "Ike", fled that far away immediately after the Yemenis claimed that they hit the Ike some weeks back. Actions speak louder than words, and the fact that the Ike retreated so fast and so far away from the battle zone likely means that the Yemenis scored a hit or two, destroying jets on the deck and possibly killing and/or injuring personnel. Extremely hard to sink a US super-carrier, but plenty of soft targets on the deck.

Both Greece and Turkey have Green Water navies. So Turkey isn’t a worldwide naval power either. In fact, the Greek Navy destroyed the entire Ottoman Imperial Fleet in 1912 lol. Fun times. If you look it up, Greece actually has a very modern and powerful navy, with many more high-tech ships and submarines than does Turkey.
