Watch: Gujarat's Gir Forest guard encounters lion on his way back home

Ойын-сауық

A video of a forest guard 'pleading' with a lion in Gujarat's Gir Forest has gone viral. The forest guard encountered the lion on his way back home at night. Blocking his way, the king of the jungle was sitting in the middle of a pitch-dark road. The bone-chilling incident was captured by Guard Mahesh Sondarva. After Sondarva's several efforts, the lion made a move and walked into the forest. Later, the video was shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Dr Anshuman on his Twitter handle. Anshuman serves as the deputy conservator of forest (DCF) in Gir East. The video has garnered more than 5,000 views and hundreds of likes.

@Soumyadeep Choudhury Gir Forest is in Gujarat, and lions do not wander like humans do. Security guards are all localites who speak Gujarati. Humans are the most dangerous of all species. A dog in a south Indian family home understands south Indian language, would you find that strange too? At least show some respect to the guard who wants to go his way without hurting the beautiful beast. So, your reaction actually deserves a thumbs down!

It's a common sight during rainy season in Gir and both the beast and humans live peacefully.

If it were a Tiger then 1. If it is hungry then it can smell him out way before he reaches the spot and will be in ambush attack mode by hiding in dark. Generally speaking Tigers don't show interest in hunting humans unless they r threatened or a man eater. So it is less likely to attack, but we never know. 2.if it had it's dinner for the day then it will be doing the same as the lion did as long as it doesn't feel that it is threatened. 3.Leopards are nocturnal but I guess tigers aren't. It doesn't mean that they don't hunt during night but they hunt when they feel hungry. These are based on my knowledge and I am no zoologist just another random nature lover.

Stupid Gujarat government cannot allow to translocate lions to MP. As it is their "Pride". But the lions are heavily populated in Gir National Park of Gujarat and they have no space so that is why they are on roads.
