    Mr. Ren is a person who cannot be provoked. He is on a very different spiritual and maturity level unlike her. I think she has her biased agenda or something running in her mind. I don't understand. Company get listed to raise money and Huawei is not in need of extra money! Whether or not to get listed is their freedom. Plus, if Huawei is not transparent, how did the host ended up having access to Huawei Financial report? She's literally super rude and she doesn't even carry the basic courtesy for an elderly. How many times does he have to answer one question? And why is she irritated when he gives an answer she doesn't want to hear? Aren't journalists supposed to be objective, friendly and understanding? There's no obligation against interviewees to give an answer that excites or convinces their interviewers. This looks bad and it makes me (perhaps other people as well) think that the lady had her own objective other than just interviewing Mr. CEO.

  • @makelvin
    @makelvin5 жыл бұрын

    This interviewer is really annoying. She kept asking stupid questions thinking they are brilliant questions. For instance, she kept asking Ren why Huawei does not become a publicly listed company so that it can be more transparent. Apparently, she has no clue as to what transparent actually means. First of all, becoming a publicly traded company requires more transparent financial record to help safeguard its investors on a quarterly schedule. Currently, financial transparency is the core issue Huawei is facing. It’s the actual technology it is developing. Been a publicly traded company does not require the disclose all of its technology development and IP to its shareholders or the public in general. Therefore, been a public company does absolutely nothing to making Huawei more “transparent” in the area where it really matter at hand. The truth is even in the area of financial transparency, just because it is a publicly traded company, it does not always works. Just look at what happen to Enron or the whole housing bubble crisis in 2008. Many of these companies involved in the bubble were publicly traded as well. So her assertion that Huawei is not publicly traded and therefore not transparent is absurd, idiotic and ignorant to the actual understanding of the word “Transparency”. Then she kept going on asking about how Ren is planning on addressing the US ban to Huawei. Ren kept telling her that he does not wish to stop the business relationship with his existing US suppliers; but he clearly already said that he has the capability to start producing some of the components in house if it comes to it. Then she kept asking for more details like Ren owes her a detail technology development step by step plan or something. The truth is even if he did, I doubt she would actually understand it in the first place. Another thing is she also kept asking about if Huawei is cut out of the Google ego system, how can Ren be so confident that their own privately developed OS can take its place. Huawei has been developing their own OS which is a fork off the Android OS for some 7 years already as a contingency. So this is not like they are just starting the OS development and trying to rush something to the market. From what I hear, its version of OS can run all Android apps at about 60% faster. As for the built-in Google, Facebook apps and such, they are currently not even available now in China. So its impact would be nil in the Chinese market. Keep in mind the Chinese market is second only to the US. If things go well with its release within China, Huawei can offer its OS to other manufacturers like Google does within China. At that point, Google is the one that is going to be completely lock out of China. As for the rest of the world, people can still manually side load other non-approved apps onto the Huawei OS phones if they choose, but there is a possibility that some people might simply like Huawei OS enough that they don’t even bother with that at all. In those cases, Google could have more to loose. Ren also kept point out that the consumer market is the smaller market for them at the moment; but not their main core business. As a result, taking some hits on the consumer market side would not result in shutting down Huawei. It seems Ren kept repeating the same message over and over again and it is the interviewer who seems to be have problem understanding what any of these answers actually means. Finally, she kept asking why Ren bothers to do this interview if Huawei is not interested in the US market for which Ren also addressed properly by saying he is not doing the interview so that he can start selling more products to the US. He is doing it to stop the US media from constantly slandering against his company to the rest of the world. Currently, it is definitely slandering since the US government still cannot produce one shred of evidence of proving how Huawei is actually doing anything nefarious with its products and equipment. She also ignored to mention that one of US closes ally, Britain, had performed their own investigation on Huawei’s equipment for 5G and found nothing and therefore will continue to purchase more of their 5G equipments. The problem is the interviewer has no clue how technology works. She also is clueless how businesses works. Ren also stated that currently Huawei has subsidiaries outside of China where it abide the local laws as necessary. This is not different than companies such as Microsoft or Apple. So it is not clearly what she means by independent subsidiary outside of China. If it is truly independent, it would simply be a different company altogether. The truth is all government in all countries will try to put pressure on any companies operated within its territory to possibly do some nefarious things. Just look at what some of the information released by Ed Snowden and see what the US government forcefully “cooperated” with some of the US companies to spy on its own citizens as well as many of its allies. If the interviewer’s assertion is that because Huawei is a Chinese company and needs to always cooperate with the Chinese government and therefore cannot be trusted, then the real question follows why should anybody outside of US should trust with any of the products from US. This would basically be the same logic. The bottom line is we need evidentiary proofs before making any accusations and not simply making slanderous statements based on suppositions. Right now, based on the information Edward Snowden provided, there are actually more evidence against the US than China for putting nefarious things into its products. This is a horrible interviewers that have no business interviewing something she knows very little about.

    This the talk between an old wise man with a girl. So the girl can not understand the vision in a wise man’s eye. She is totally lost just because she do not stand at the same level and not even try to image. She is astonished what he is seeing and do not understand.

    中文翻译稿昨天已经看过了,我不觉得奇怪这女记的问问题风格,这也是很多很多美记的风格,不到黄河心不死,刨根问底。总想出名,弄出一些大新闻标题,问一些符合美国媒体的期望,符合普通美国佬认知的问题,倒是任总的回答真的是每一次听都耳目一新,比一般领导人高了不知道几个层次。
