    Seiko can pound sand. :) They obviously don't care much about QC these days. Given their movements are on all sorts of microbrands that CAN line up indexes, I don't see why anyone would want to pay their elevated prices for watches they obviously don't care about.

    @@JF-lt5zcI would say because Seiko is cooler and they will be around longer than the other micro brands.

  • @JF-lt5zc

    @JF-lt5zc

    4 ай бұрын

    I question the 'cooler' aspect. There are plenty of cool looking watches on the market these days. They certainly have history but today's Seiko is not yesterday's, so to speak. Maybe it has something to do with production being in China vs Japan for their lesser models. I do have the Arnie on my list but it will likely be the only Seiko branded watch from them that I'd buy. In the sub $1000 range they have some good offerings, but mineral crystal abounds along with poor QC. Anything above $1000 and I'd rathe buy a Squale, Hamilton, or some other brand in that range. @@cardinalj

    I think some of these go against the exact premise you stated in the begining. Ressence? Vulcain? They have one watch that just comes in a few differing colors? I think Ressence is the definition of a startup. Tutima, I had never heard of them but at least they have numerous offerings. Grossman? Maybe if you run in circles where they can typically drop $40k+ on a watch. The Hanhart, Fortis, Zodiac picks I can get behind. History, multiple models, not in a large number of stores and must be sought out and still relatively affordable.
