I'm in the process of replacing the rear swing arm bushings and needed to remove both clutches to access the left side bushing bolts. This video was a great help not only showing how to remove the primary clutch but most importantly, letting me know I needed to purchase a clutch puller before starting the job. Thank you greatly for creating this video, it was extremely helpful!

Hey Gr8 video with excellent communication! I have a 2003 700 sportsman (5700 miles 1 owner) which is creeping when starting. I pulled cover and belt was shot. I then installed a new Kimpex belt hoping this would fix the creep. Not! The new Kimpex belt looked quite a bit different-in design but just figured that a new belt should look different. I had one heck of time rolling belt on but it finally did go. Anyway it’s still creeping. Could the belt be to tight? Wrong belt? Clutch need rebuilt? Thank You

Hello sir! I have the same year and model four wheeler. Last week was taking it up a hill and what sounded like something in engine or transmision broke(awful metal on metal sound for just a moment) . will not go into gear but sounds like it is coming from behind the main clutch. also sounds strange when you attempt to pull the pull start. Any information would be helpful! Thank you

Excellent video... I have a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 600 Twin. I have no problems switching through the gears but once I switch into HIGH gear, it will make a grinding noise and not want to move. It will move but I don't press it. I pulled the clutch cover off and noticed right away debris inside. The belt is perfect as I even changed it thinking it was the issue. When I manually spin the secondary clutch, it sounds like debris are floating inside. Any advice would be so much appreciated. Thank you, Blake

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports I pulled the secondary clutch off to inspect it today. More broken debris fall out of the secondary clutch when its shaken around. @@MidNebraskaMotorsports makes complete sense. I pulled the secondary clutch apart today. I found 3 pieces of dime size chucks of debris, no clue where they came from. I see no other damage. I do notice that the teeth on the rod, not sure the correct name for it look to be worn a bit. Does this act different when it's in high? Maybe turn fast which it may cause it to skip more other than in low? Low may do it also if I got hit the throttle more. I didn't test it much as I didn't want to tear it up more. Thank you so much for all of your help.

There is a way to shim your clutch. It is not a fix for a loose belt. The only fix for a loose belt is to replace it. I'd carry one with you if you're going far. If it's that loose, you might get stranded. Thanks for watching and the comment. Let us know if you have any questions or need parts: www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports

Thank you for the great video it saved me a ton of work. Took my 2000 trail off out to the desert yesterday and lost almost all power even though the engine was running fine. Barely had enough power to get up the ramps into the truck. Back at my garage using your video as a guide I removed the clutch cover and about 12 ounces of black oil poured onto the ground. Basically my clutch was getting an oil bath. I know the oil came from the vent up above I just Don’t know why. I Did an oil change before this ride, possibly I overfilled the crank case or the oil was too cool when I filled it, I don’t know??

use a rubber mallet and tap it back on (i know that is counterproductive) but you are wanting to loosen up those splines so it'll slide right off. If that doesn't work bring out the sledge. That'll loosen things up. Also obviously be soaking it in wd40. Try and get it to drip down onto the shaft. Also be patient. It'll come. Thanks for watching and the comment. Hit that subscribe button for us! Also check out: www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports I'm sure we have that clutch available.
