Watch a Chainsaw Artist Carve an Epic Artwork From a Log - “Survival” Fox & Rabbit Chase Sculpture
Chainsaw and power tool carved log sculpture by Michelle Thevenot in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Survival... a defining moment for both the fox and the rabbit. The fox must eat and the rabbit must flee, both in the name of survival. The hunter and hunted are momentarily balanced and equal in the pursuit of life.
Which are you in this moment, the fox or the rabbit? What does that mean to you?
I think we can relate to both at different points in life. Aren’t we all running towards something? We might relate to pursuing a goal with fervor, or at other times just simply trying to get ahead in life. Whether it be running after dreams, or running for cover, both are necessary at different times. It’s normal and balanced to experience these energies throughout life’s cycle. It’s in our nature to become either; our instinctual behavior is as such for our own survival.
Here, in the pursuit of survival, potential is poised within both.

This is amazing! What type of tools are you using for the detailed work?
@MichelleThevenotArtwork

Thank you so much! For the detail work, I like to use power wood carving tools by Arbortech, ManpaTools, angle grinder with flap disc, rotary tool with burr bits like Saburrtooth or Kutzall.

@@MichelleThevenotArtwork thanks, I recently started carving and was using Ash - as it is in abundance here and dying quickly - but found out it cracks really bad. Appreciate the reply and the videos, they are great.
What do you call half of a Rabbit? ANSWER: Rab! Nice Carving.
