Wassailing | British and Irish Folklore and Traditions | EPISODE 16
Wassailing is a tradition across the British Isles that dates back to at least the medieval times, and can be found in many forms. Going from house-to-house, singing, festivities in the orchards and even the Mari Lwyd in Southern parts of Wales. This video looks at different wassailing customs all over Britain.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear it!!
Hi Anna, I am a hobby cider maker living in Ireland, do you know if Wassailing took place in Ireland?

I didn't come across anything whilst researching, I think it's primarily an English tradition. The Welsh have their own version via the Mari Lwyd, so I'm sure there's an Irish equivalent too! If you do find anything out I would love to know
Many wassailing traditions are pre Christian in origin
