Wasp with Water Drop - Freeform Torch Sculpting

"Wasp with Water Drop" This is a freeform wire and rod sculpture that I created. I used an oxyacetylene torch for all of the bulk of the welding and bending. The legs and antennae are forged round-bar. Setting up the camera for each element of the sculpt was a painstaking process but it makes for a satisfying video to watch.

That is very cool, you can do so much with metal if you got the right tools. You could do the world of insects, and make a killing$$$. My fave would be the Praying Mantis , there so smart and beautiful. The world is in your hands, snakes,spiders ,turtles,cryptid creatures,aliens. So much to do and have fun, so little time. Hey! Thanks for checking in. There’s a long explanation for why I haven’t posted recently but the positive side of it is that I’m deep into a huge construction project building a brick and mortar business for the channel and my work. I will be posting again soon!

Hey! I get most of my steel from Orleans ornamental on arts street. They’ve got mild steel stock and lots of gate and fence components and castings. If I need a big order of steel I go to kloeckner metals.
what did you spray to cause the metal to turn black?
