Washington Today (7-2-24): Rep. Doggett is first Dem Member to call on Pres. Biden to end candidacy

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) becomes the first sitting Democratic Member of Congress to call on President Joe Biden to make what he acknowledges is a "painful and difficult decision to withdraw" from this year's presidential election, saying about last week's debate with Republican Donald Trump, “Instead of reassuring voters, the president failed to effectively defend his many accomplishments and expose Trump’s many lies.”
A New York Times article is headlined, "Biden's Lapses Are Said to Be Increasingly Common and Worrisome".
President Biden today is briefed at the DC Emergency Operations Center about extreme weather, including the heat wave across the U.S and the Category 5 hurricane in the Caribbean. He talks about a proposed Labor Department rule creating the first ever standards to protect workers from extreme heat, such as access to water, shade and rest breaks.

    Neither one did well in the debate. And how dare you ask your President to remove himself!! Not a good move. Now is the time to stand behind him not throw out. Grow thicker skin and stand tall.     I agree that Trump and what he's created is a cancer on this country, but Biden literally has trouble forming complete sentences. Don't get me wrong, they're both bad. Neither of them are fit to lead this country.
