The Original of this film is at NRFTA (Northern region film and television archive) at Teesside uni. Think its a Turners production from 1971 called "Washington the first 7 years". Very interesting though, always nice to see old footage of Washington.

I was born in Washington Co.Durham and I feel like a foreigner in the place.To me it is no more than a big housing estate.No one speaks to anyone else. The worst thing to happen was for the town to be taken over by the makems.We did not want this to happen.The county of Rutland was taken over by Lieister at the same but they pestered by the council to revert back to its original designation.I wish we could.
