Washing Machine Repair 10 Minute Easy Fix DIY!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If your washing machine isn't spinning or washing properly watch this video before you try to buy a new one ($300 to $3000) or call a tech to look at it ($50 to $300).
You can fix it yourself in minutes using little to no tools and only spending as little as $9.00 on a new machine belt or $30 for a new drain pump module.
I have the popular top loader portable Haier HLP21N machine but the design is the same on all different brands and sizes whether the load topside or front load.

@@janicepedrick1976 This one is easy, it's because you don't have a 90 degree angle on the drain hose. The drain hose needs to go up at a 90 degree from the machine (there should have been a zip strip holding it up that way) then down to drain. If you leave the hose down at the floor level there's no seal to stop gravity from pulling the water out. Think of it like a trap under your sink. It needs that curve to seal the water from moving.

This is an awesome video; I have saved it to my "Home Repairs" folder. I've also been inspired to open the back of my new washer again, and note what kind of belt it uses. I've only used my washer four times, but there's a carpet of what looks like tiny bits of shredded belt underneath it. I'll be buying a replacement belt now in case supply chain issues make that impossible in a future time when the present belt finally fails.

Thank you bro , you made me a very happy man , I bought this machine for my girlfriend 2 years ago , I bought it from a Colombian woman , kept telling girlfriend not to loaded up so much , so started to malfunction, so decided to watch repair vids , I found yours , it was a blessing for two reasons ……..I am so static , joyful , once I took the back plastic cover off to my surprise, I noticed I large ziplock plastic bag stashed inside with some sort of package wrapped on a cotton fabric , Lord behold !! After opening bag unwrapping whatever was in package we found $9 k dollars neatly wrapped in the dirty cotton cloth , so this was a very nice Christmas present , thank you , and thank Santa . Second we noticed the belt was kind of worn out . Gracias amigo , we are getting a new belt , and we will be donating part of this money to a shelter .

This video is clear, to the point and relatable. Thank you! I bought mine second hand and had to immediately put it outside. It was riddled with mold but I needed it badly and went through allot of trouble to get it. After washing it several times with vinegar it was almost completely mold free. I learned that I needed to put a cup of vinegar in it to prevent mold from growing back. In short, keep your machine opened, aired and use vinegar to prevent mold from growing.

Great tutorial. I Needed a new draining hose and felt I could replace it myself. After taking the back off, my Haier washer,(smaller version), I saw that there was still some water left in the tub after washing a small load. This wasn't visible from looking inside the tub Didn't know how I would remedy this until i saw your video....the TUB...of course. I was thinking of buying plastic drop cloths, etc. hoping that that would be enough. Thank you for your view from the bottom of the machine. I now feel that I can complete this task myself. Hey great DIY video. I have two questions - (1) Can an extremely worn out belt also cause leaks? My washing machine (exact same make and model as yours) is leaking with no visible leaks from the hoses or pipes. After watching your video I opened and checked my machine and the belt was extremely loose and completely shredded with pieces stuck to the sides like soot. (2) where did you buy the belt from? Good quality video and narration. 1st thing I noticed about your fan belt is...... not to replace the belt yet as it's not that worn, but tighten the pulley so the belt is tighter, retighten the pulley nut. So....how do I "fix" the water level sensor? Is the water level sensor in any way synched to the agitation cycle? My water wouldn't turn off automatically and the agitator isn't working. I'm guessing my water level sensor.

I'm on my second Haier HLP21N and I love it! The first was refurbished but worked fine until it didn't. It took some trial and error to realize it was a cracked lid. If the lid does not register as closed, it will fill with water but never pulse. Bought a new lid but the pin that holds it in was impossible, impossible, impossible to put back together! Got another one, used, because this has been discontinued. I'm surprised you bought a new one in 2020. It worked almost as well and I was super careful with the lid. But the plastic is very prone to cracking, and that's what it did! Oh no, here we go again, but at least now I knew the issue was the lid, not 100 other things. I superglued the cracked piece back on. But putting the lid on seemed to be impossible again, until I got it just right and now my machine is back working ... except it has developed a leak on the bottom. I will check your other videos and if you haven't fixed a similar problem, I hope you will consider it! I just subscribed. Thanks for the video, even though it wasn't the problem I had, I may just replace the belt anyway. Listen, everyone, be careful with your lid and don't store stuff on it!

Hey Jesus. The cycle will stall when the belts are old and slack and spinning slow. We had that issue before fixing the belts. The pressure at the faucet means inlet the hose are old are hard. A new hose will be flexible and absorb some pressure at the faucet.

I have a Comfee portable washer that's clicking loudly on the spin cycle. Any info on what that is? Is it worth trying to fix myself?

I have a machine very likely yours, mines is model HLP24E. I am having a problem that sometimes the an error shows up "DO". which is lid open. I called HAEIR the switch is very inexpensive. But they told me that the switch you don't see it on the schematic machine layout. They are sending me the switch for free. By any chance do you know something about this? Do you have any idea where it is located?
