Dr Choo presented those examples (pope and monks) NOT to disparage any other culture or belief system but to emphasise on how feet washing (or our works) should NOT be seen as being superior to others. It is only through Christ that we are saved, and subsequently the renewal of our minds and heart that lead to good works (as evidence of our salvation).

I found this sermon very inspiring. I wasn't prepared for a 'foot washing' sermon this time of year so was curious as to it's application. Truly a word for any time of year. I have honestly never heard it preached in this way. Thank you for helping me to see that this was indeed a very important lesson Jesus was teaching.

“Father, thank you for showing us that washing feet was not a meaningless act of humility, not an act of making clay birds to fly; but your washing of feet was a meaningful act that summarized your entire life on earth, that summarized your entire ministry of seeing people with great needs and meeting them.” 44:41-45:09 Jesus gave this summary of his life: “The son of man is come to save that which was lost.” Jesus recognized this need: “You are clean, but not all.” He spoke of the one who was lost, who had “lifted up his heel against him.” It was the will of the Father of Jesus that he not raise up the lost again until the last day. Jesus made it his first act of the last day. By washing the heel lifted up against him, Jesus cast out the prince of this world which had put it into the heart of Judas to make a covenant to hand Jesus over to the chief priests. The washing left Judas with no desire to fulfill his obligation under the covenant he made. Remember: Jesus did only those things he saw with his Father; and do not call unclean what God has cleansed. The food of Jesus was to do the will of his Father, and to finish His work. To fulfill scripture, Jesus chose the one who had lifted up his heel against him to eat his food with him. After Jesus identified Judas as the deliverer, Satan entered him again. Satan was opposed to those things of God which Jesus said should happen at Jerusalem. Judas, raised up again after the washing by Jesus, overcame Satan and glorified Jesus. I say these things only in my own name.

feet washing took place the same time as Lord supper many churches carry out Lord supper but neglect feet washing. Christ used the word Ought to wash one anothers feet it was a ordinance set forth by Christ like Lord supper both are required .It is not biblical or rightly dividing the word to explain it away with go works. John 13. 1It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.2The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.6He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”7Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”8“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”9“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”10Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.12When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

NOT BECAUSE SOMEONE WEARING GOLD HAT AND SOMEONE IN BOLD HEAD THAT YOU BROUGHT OUT YOUR DEFITION ABOUT FEET WASHING ALWAYS REFERS TO THE BIBLE NOT TO WHAT PEOPLE DO OR CHURCHES DO

The washing of feet was only symbolic which was to teach us to serve with love (humility) as Jesus said, "I come to serve and not to be served." The washing of feet was traditional of the Jewish people when they entered the synagogues same as what the Muslims do even today when they enter their mosque. The picture of those people (disciples) as portrayed by you was drawn by Protestants. It is not representative of the Last Supper where Jesus and his twelve apostles inclined at the table and not lying feet up on the couches like you believe. You also tried to ridicule the Bishop who was washing the feet of the faithful in the Catholic Church just because he wore his vestment and cap. You can look yourself in the mirror how humble you dress - coat and tie like a lawyer - as compare to a Catholic Priest who owes nothing, not even a wife or a private HOUSE and Car, and when they grow old they retire to an old aged home. You have the gift of the gap and know your Protestant Bible well but which has seven books short than a Catholic Bible. Faith alone in Jesus Christ cannot save you without good works and deeds. James 2:14-28. The Catholic (Universal) Church was established by Jesus Christ on the firmed rock of Peter (Mt 16:18) in 33 AD and on Peter's successors who are the Popes. Do not forget also that without the Catholic Bible there is no Protestant Bible. It is a pity that the Protestant Ministers and Pastors are using Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to preach the good news but do not wish to be part of Christ's Church, which is the Catholic (Universal) Church.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Go and read about the history of catholicism and how they came about their bible before talking nonsense. Go and read about the history of mary worship, saint worship, pope worship and the general repulsive religiosity of the Catholic church and you will see that the catholic church is a demonic POLITICAL institution. I'll point you in one direction, read Fox's book of Martyrs; it's pretty long so just read the chapters on papacy to learn a bit about the history of Catholicism; watch a series here on youtube called "know your enemy". Well done on misinterpreting the bible and taking it out of context. The fact that you believe a demonic pagan institution was established by Christ is one of the highest levels of blasphemy. The Church of Christ is not a political institution controlled by spiritual wickedness in high places; the church of Christ are BORN AGAIN, SPIRIT FILLED believers in Christ, not a building, not an institition. The fact that you actually think that God Himself dying for sins is insufficient to pay for your salvation is mind boggling; the fact that you think a wretched human being like yourself can do something to warrant your salvation from an indescribably Holy and righteous God is repulsive to say the least. Do you seriously think you can stand before the Almighty and tell Him, i'm saved because I gave to charity plus I also believe in Jesus Christ? Demeaning does not start to explain your warped perception of salvation. You clearly have not grasped the basics of salvation like most Catholics, because if you have, you would never think, even much more have the guts to utter that you think some "good deeds" you do earns your salvation. TRULY REGENERATED Christians (by the Holy Spirit) do not do "good deeds" to be saved; they do "good deeds" BECAUSE THEY ARE ALREADY SAVED. I.e. the Holy Spirit within Spirit filled Christians (i.e. ALREADY SAVED) leads a Christian to live a life that is aligned to the will of the Father. That is what James 1 is talking about. Born again Christians bear fruits that PROVE that they have the Holy Spirit; as opposed to religious people who THINK that they are Christians e.g. Catholics, who do good things because they somehow think that that buys their salvation. This is foolishness of the highest order. When Christ said "It is finished"; HE MEANT IT!. Nothing anyone can do can add to or take away from the FULL AND COMPLETE SALVATION that Christ provides. Your good deeds are as filthy rags before God and CANNOT save you. Isaish 64:6

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:16 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8 What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, as it is written, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." Romans 9:30‭-‬33 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:17‭-‬18 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 2 Timothy 1:9 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them. Hebrews 13:8‭-‬9

Can you show me your faith? Unless you do good works or as Pastor Jason would say, unless you become "foot washers" your faith is just symbolic. Have faith and prove that you have 'faith' by doing 'good works' (foot washers) in order to be a disciples of Christ. Otherewise, your faith without good works, remains just symbolic.

The catholic bible is seven books short of the orthodox bible. The 6Roman6Catholic6 Church was not started by Jesus it was started by the Roman emperor Constantine who issued the edict of tolerance only because his universal “catholic” church was combined with pagan traditions and people accept them today without question.
