Wash and Go Without a Leave In Conditioner | Gel Only

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey Sunflowers, I got my best wash and go by using only three products, shampoo, conditioner, and gel. I skipped the leave-in conditioner per ‪@JenniferRoseNYC‬, and my hair has never looked better.

    I’ve been using only gels as well and it seems to be keeping my hair moisturized. I shampoo and deep condition weekly. I use dove shampoo and currently using shea moisture manuka hair mask to empty the container. My stylers are uncle funky curly magic first then I top it off with wet line extreme. I apply the uncle funky in the shower so my hair is soaking wet. Once out the shower, I will apply the wet line. I have type 4 hair so my shrinkage is very disrespectful so by adding the curly magic on soaking wet hair allows my hair to hold onto to that moisture so once I add the wetline, I don’t have to spray my hair with water because it’s still wet. I will sit under the hair dryer for 30 minutes. The outside will be dry but the roots will be wet. I will use a diffuser on medium warm and do the blow down method until the roots are dry. I will section off my hair and band the sections to keep my hair stretched. The next day when taking out the bands I will apply a dab of silk therapy it’s the Sally beauty brand chi silk infusions to each section while taking them down and this will ensure that humidity won’t shrink my hair my hair up too fast lol. Those silicones in the silk therapy will block the Humidity for a while. On the fourth day, I will co wash basically just wetting my hair in the shower, adding curly magic. Outside the shower add the wetline. So far so good and my hair has movement!My shrinkage will have my coils above my ears if I let it. Sometimes I rock the shrunken look, it just depends on how I’m feeling on that wash day. Hope this helps someone who is struggling with their coils 😍😍

    Hey I wanted to come back and give you an update. Im only using three things in my hair. Shampoo Conditioner, and gel, and this is working perfectly. NO OILS, BUTTERS, CREAMS, OR LEAVE IN CONDITIONERS. I have switched Shampoo to Pureology which is much more hydrating. The Eco Styler Gel is not drying at all, even after a week, so you really don't need the leave in, Just moisturizing shampoos and conditioners

    Hey there! Thank you for your update. It does work quite well. Pureology is an excellent line, I've never tried it, but I have heard nothing but good things. I don't find the eco styler to be drying at all. When you have a bomb shampoo and conditioner, that's all you need. Your hair looks moisturized and so cute in your videos. I want to touch it. 😊 I appreciate the update!🤗🌻

    Thank you! It's an aloe based gel and aloe might not agree with your hair. If I use a gel that is aloe based, it tends to make my hair dry. If a gel makes your hair dry, use a leave in conditioner or a moisturizer under that gel to combat the dryness. I don't have a specific gel to recommend because at this time, I'm not using gels in my hair. However, these are the gels I have in my stash and have used: Ecostyler, Urban Hydration Honey Laid & Slayed Pro Gel, Quidad Advanced Climate Control, and Aveda Curl Gelee. I hope this helps! • @radiantbeauty-evelyn

    @radiantbeauty-evelyn

    Nono depends on your hair and the kind of products you use for a wash and go. Most gels on the market are drying on the hair which can cause breakage. Make sure you use something to help buffer the dryness that some gels may cause. I experimented with not using a leave-in conditioner for a few months. I learned that my hair does best when I use a leave-in or moisturizer. I don't do protective styles, but I do keep my hair moisturized and stretched by twisting, braiding, or blow-drying. You don't have to do protective styles for your hair to grow. Your hair is always growing.😊 The question should be, How will I retain length? And you can most definitely retain length without doing protective styling. Thanks for the question!🌻

    I tried it as well, however I put a finger-tip of leave-in in a spray bottle of water to wet my hair before I put in the gel. It has worked well. The gel I used was cantu flaxseed cream gel. I plan to try xtreme gel next time.

    Since all I've ever learned about w-n-gos have included a leave-in or some sort of oil barrier prior to the gel, the thought of not applying some sort of leave-in sounds a bit scary to me (thoughts of dryness, breakage) ; However, you have stunning results! Will you be deep conditioning or applying hot oil treatments regularly in lieu of the leave-in? I'm looking forward to seeing update videos w/out the leave-ins. I might have to try this out as the weather begins to warm up.

    Yeah, it is a bit scary considering what we've learned and been told. I haven't/didn't experience any breakage or dryness. I think the key is to use a shampoo and conditioner that delivers great moisture. If I need to deep condition or do a hot oil treatment, I will do it, but only if needed. Yes, I plan to do update videos without using leave-in for the different ways I wear my hair. Are you still locking your hair? Thanks for commenting and for your questions! Have a wonderful weekend!🤗🌻🌻

    @@radiantbeauty-evelyn No, my friend, I'm not. During the pandemic, I didn't feel comfortable going to a loctician ( due to various reasons), and I could not get the hang of the interlocking. So, after about 10 weeks, I unbraided all 160 something braids. Right now, I'm back to my faithful two-strand twists. Have a great weekend!

    @@radiantbeauty-evelyn ok so here I am 6 months later. So here’s what I’ve found. The kind of leave in matters. For summer I could get away with no leave in. But it’s getting colder and drier here’s so I find a tad bit of a snot textured leave in for the winter works the same as the no leave in in the summer under some blue wetline

    I hear you with the oils or heavy leave-ins. I finally achieved bomb wash and go's that caught the eyes of my husband. The only thing I am against is ecostyler gel. The ingredients and the controversy of the owners of ecostyler being racist and treating their employees bad. I love unkle funky's daughter gel. Better ingredients.

    Hey Deb! That's great that your wash and go's has caught your husband's eyes. 😎 Yeah, I know the Eco styler ingredients aren't the best, but it sure did give me a good wash and go.😁 As for the controversy, I didn't know about that.😔 I like Uncle Funky's Curly Magic too, I've gotten great results in the past from that gel. The only issue I have with UFD is that when it's humid, and my climate can get the humidity, UFD alone doesn't hold up well unless I have something heavier on top. Thanks for sharing your results and that the no oil and heavy leave-ins are working for you! Have a good weekend! 🤗🌻🌻

    Hi, Kerrie! Thanks for sharing that. I don't have any issues with Eco. I bought a small jar of the wetline gel (dark blue top) to test and I have tried it once. I didn't get the results I expected, but I will try it a few more times before I toss it. Take care! 🌻
