WAS The Simpson’s Hit And Run REALLY That Great?

Ойындар

The Simpsons Hit and Run was a whole lot of awesome.
This video takes a look at what made the Simpsons hit and run a game worth remembering and features a conversation with the games lead programmer Cary Brisebois. This is a licensed game that actually made an impact from a gameplay perspective, but a sequel still has never seen the light of day. Simpsons hit and run is going to be looked at from every angle here. Big ups to Rob Yulfo for some of the character models.

Yeah, I don't know what he was talking about "only available on PS2...", "It's not backwards compatible anywhere". I still have my Xbox copy, and it is backward compatible on Xbox 360. Obviously, still behind the curve of modern consoles, but it is an option. He is right about licensed games going BC though. But it's not even about those companies "allowing" it. it's about every one of them wanting their piece of the pie. Corporations don't do these things out of the kindness of their hearts. It's the same reason sports games are worse off than ever. League and player licensing costs a fortune. So, as the years have passed, developers and publishers have figured out it's not even worth the trouble anymore. PS2/Xbox/Gamecube was really a golden age for variety in gaming.

It was one of the few licensed games that was a solid hit (despite its weird development) cause of the love of the IP and the input from the creators... gone are the days of terrible movie-IP games on consoles, nowadays a games company in China gets sent the 3D models from the special effects studio, ordered to crank out a microtransaction laden mobile phone game and have it out weeks before the movie/tv series releases.

I'm gonna say something that nobody ever acknowledges. I find it funny that people shit on Batman Arkham Knight for having too much Batmobile, but if you ask me the Batmobile usage in that game was nothing compared to how often you have to use a vehicle in Hit and Run. I swear it felt like most of the time I was playing as the car rather than the Simpsons characters unlike Arkham Knight where it felt like a good balance between GTA and Batman.

Percy Jackson’s King Kong was undoubtedly my favorite game from this era. From frantically throwing spears at giant centipedes to running away from a “V-Rex” to becoming the king himself and taking that same V-Rex and slapping the shit out of it with your bare hands the game kept you on your little 9 year old toes. I would love to see a remaster, remake, or sequel to that game but frankly if by some off chance you saw this and reviewed the game, I’d settle for that. I’ll probably never go through with it but, much like any kid who has spent the last decade watching KZread, I’ve always wanted to start making content truly worth somebody’s time but I’m not quite smart, critical, or interesting enough to pull it off but you are. Keep up the good work Prince, it’s really worth our time and we hope to make it worth yours as well. ~ Sincerely, the viewer

It funny that when they talk about hit and run not having animations for getting out of the vehicle, when it shows it in the gamplay of the video that there is animation for exiting the vehicle. Exits, 37:04 Enter, 37:19, animations. But not sure if hes playing a different version like best hits on ps2 or playing on another console that happens to have it (not sure).

Dude i think you have Superpowers! I just found this game inside my old games 2 days ago, for my "Original Xbox" and now you make a video of it! This is so cool man. One more thing...you look like the main character of the game "DAYS GONE". 👍👍👍👍👍

Making it sound like it was PS2 exclusive when you said it wasn't ported. It's on Xbox, Gamecube and PC too. PC is the best way to play it especially with the modding community still active to this day. Also Simpsons Wrestling came out 23 March 2001 Simpsons Skateboarding released 12 November 2002 So why would they have impacted the potential sequel of Hit N Run which released 16 September 2003 Hit and Run sold well.
