What do you think? Is Jagex crazy enough to add raptor rampage to MTX? Thinking about the event more, the real placebo effect was people being made to think they have such an insane chance at a drop, and while still 3x the normal rate, for just 1 kill, your drop rate for lets say Ambi, is still only 3/55 which means over the entire event if you use ALL of your raptors buffs every day you still wont be on drop rate to get a rare drop.

That’s very much not what this was. They have a lot of people unhappy with drop rates, but some kind of gate is needed. They can talk in abstract about different ways but it’s a world of difference to actually experiencing it. They wanted to see if players liked this as a potential solution, if just from now on permanently you get one increased drop chance a day. This was the test.

I never got anything. This honestly didn't even really feel like an event because all I did was right click an npc, killed a boss, and nothing happened.

I killed ambi every day - and every day it just said raptors favor fades away without granting a reward.

I think they’re trying to make those insane new items just a liiiiittle bit more accessible to most people. Also makes sense they’d give us some candy after the new GE tax.

They are already accessible to most people - by killing the bosses. Kerapac, zammy, zuk, etc… If you can’t kill those bosses with t90 equipment, you don’t need t95 equipment.

This event got me to learn the first two bosses of ed3 so I could dart ambi. always been too scared to do that on a hardcore, it got me out of my shell. I thought it was a great event overall, though they might not use what they learned from it for good.. . so we'll see.

you forgot about kerapac, it was used there a ton too, didn't get anything from the raptor boost myself, yet today (day after the event) i got 2 kerapac drops (gconc and gloves) in 8 kills lol

how are you seeing grand exchange data and if it instant sold? where do I see that

I think they maybe brought this in as a way to push ppl into PVM after the death cost update. Theyre trying to remove the fear aspect and make it more of a mainstay of the game.

Death cost got me to try arch Glacor for the first time on hard mode and die. I haven't died in years, now I've died like 15 times and now I can beat the hm boss.

@@Etsa hell yeah thats awesome man! Its also helped me reduce alot of anxiety when it comes to dying and branching out. I was a big fan of practice mode before the update and now kinda negates the need.

Maybe they should do an event with increased bad luck mitigation. I'd also like to see bad luck mitigation added to more bosses.

On the point of Nex items not dipping too much, also consider on top of Nex having a lot of unique drops they are also used in other ways after disassembling them. I saw loads of people and others who had alts use them on Nex and KK who couldnt do high end bosses

The thing I didn’t like about it was how wildly different it was at different bosses. Near useless at vorago and kerapac

I got my first spider keg from arraxi off this event but I'm still learning the boss so it was not very efficient

I really liked the event, but maybe that's because of the crazy drops my iron got from it. I got a drygore in 2 darts at KK, a boss I can't really kill as an ironman at all until I start boss grouping (the hardest boss I've fought is Araxxor so solo KK is out of the question). That drygore was leveled to 9 and disassembled for my first 20 rumbling components, and I was finally able to make a BooG and get started on EOFs. The brooch has already spotted me four more rumbling components as well. I also got two core drops from Araxxi under the effects of the buff; unfortunately both webs, even though I was killing magic form and only wanted the fang and the eye. As an ironman, every one of these drops has a market value to me of 0gp, so I was glad for the buff saving me a bit of time and making things like drygores more practically attainable (otherwise I have to get lucky with challenges or the TM shop and spend 5M for most rolls).

I think this would have done a couple of things. Firstly it would have made a few more people do PVM. Which increases the amount of people dying every day. This would have been a big old gold sink whilst under the feeling that it’s making them money. Secondly, it would have been something that takes the sting out of the GE tax. Personally (though not under effects of favour,) I got something like 4 staff pieces from Kerapac. I was hella dry though. Overall I think it was a good event - made me excited to do my first kill and even if I couldn’t do a full hour I would commit 30 minutes to cash in on favour.

in th zammy kill were you using cryptbloom with range?

Edit: most people definitely made more gp just by doing their reaper task 7 days in a row than they did by swinging for the fences on a single "raptor-buffed" kill.

cant complain, got me to learn zammy and managed to get a roar codex / vestment boots and a bottom bow piece off it in 9 kc and this was all on normal mode too

It kind of just seemed now, that merchers were buying all the items from people get drops on the cheap, and now the items just rebounded back to where they were pre rampage

I got one pop on my main and alt at nex both leg pieces but no torva

i like events like this, its the thrill of the hunt with a little spice. besides that, items like magma tempest are way 2 overppriced. so all by all i really enjoyed it!

I used darts at ambassador, and I actually got two double drops (2x stock, 2x limb). This event made me 1,7b and the 4 piece ECB part with 0 kc looks nice

A lot of people think that a drop with a rate of 1/50 turns into a 3/50, which is wrong. You just get 3 independent 1/50 rolls. And with bad RNG (like me) you don't get drops. Saw it at hm Zuk myself.

My vote for the next video or an upcoming video is an invention parts guide showing the cheapest way to get all or most components and the fastest way :)

I got gotted. 0 drops from raptors, but I did get an ed3 drop normally. Was like 500 me before raptors, now it's like 350 :D

only thing I got was pernix gloves lol, but still very happy with this event, picked up a magma tempest for 650m.

With the buff I'm fairly certain some people even had worse drops in value than average. The "best possible outcome" didn't seem to factor in GE guide prices and such at all, so let's say there's a drop that's worth 500k and it's a 1/64 drop chance and one that's worth 50k with a 1/128 drop chance, you basically get boned by the fact that you get the rarer one unless you actually land on a unique. A friend of mine (unfortunately) used the buff on Nex with darts hoping for uniques and they got more seeds than anything else. At least they got a Virtus robe top out of it so they almost broke even I guess.

The raptor buff made it so that the player had 3 rolls for the uniques of the boss they killed - stuff like seeds don't play into the equation

​@Surefruit I've had my doubts until now, but the description of the buff pretty much confirmed that a Unique table is always rolled first and if you don't land on anything on that table, you get a roll on a normal table instead, hence why this buff doesn't work with some bosses. It probably took them like 5 minutes to implement this buff lol. So like you said, this buff guaranteed you 3 rolls on the unique table instead of a single one, each failed one rolled a common item instead and then the game choose the best drop out of the 3 rolls, thus normal drops are also affected even if just slightly.

I used Raptor's favour every single day of the event for solo HM Kerapac. No drops until this past day when I got the fractured symbol.

I got a stock piece from Amby so no, people just misinterpreted the buff. 3/1 kills is great for big drops/frequent ones.

As an Ironman who used it on KK to get drygores rapier set and jump my upgrade path from sunspear... It was an absolute succ

The event did drop prices for items from certain bosses like ambi and zuk but i didnt get a drop bc of the event so its an absolute fail

My thoughts on the event were: 1. It was a FOMO event that's just daily scape. 2. Drop prices decreased because of the culmination of death cost rework and the triple roll buff making a lot of poeple get out there and kill bosses. 3. I fully believe Jagex will try to sell this buff in the future, nothing is sacred to them anymore.

I think any conclusion should be made on the exclusivity of it but not when it would be a daily D&D. Most people would probably do it once in a while not camp the double drops every 24 hours.

At 2k zammy your drop rate would effectively be 3/5 with maxed out BLM. This would mean you could potentially roll multiple unique items in a single kill and you'd get the best one. I got all 3 bow pieces and some other vestments junk from this event. Really OP.

the prices drop at the begining were not from drops, it was for anticipation for drops.

I pulled a Magma Tempest from NM Zuk first week, got 760m for it. Second week got Eldritch Stock from darting Ambi at 440m. It was never a guaranteed drop, still rng, just 3 kills in 1, and the people complaining sound like children. Some items going down is not a terrible thing, especially considering the most affected are either EOF food (EZK and ECB) or one time use (Magma Tempest and Scripture of Ful). They'll recover a bit within a week.

I think they could easily add a scaled down version of this into the game permanently. For those who PVM all day long, its only a once a day thing and likely won't change much, but for people with limited play time, or people working on specific logs, it could be great to help with lower-mid tier progression.

Went to zuk and got nothing but the pet on 6 KC but the buff didn’t effect that table so really got nothing from it

The ecb was dropping before the raptors rampage tbh, like the zuk sword. Not saying that RR didn't cause them to drop even further but it's defenitley not the main reason.

got a torva helm last night while duoing with a buddy. didn't sell for 10m under ge mid

My best was an effigy, ty jagex :)

I used my buff daily at Rax on my iron to try and finally get t90 weapons. Managed to get a top leg piece and nothing else.

Used at zamorak, amby and zuk hm, got nothing. Then I went glacor for a streak out of the event and got a core lol

Only thing I got was a a bot and middle spider leg. Which I was happy with because I was 55kc dry

Honestly I would say it's a failure. Considering the fact less than 5% of ppl only got a raptor rare drop successfully in the last 2 weeks. But that being said, it's nice to see at least ppl doing bossing or even going to a boss even if it was just to deathtouched dart a boss since it counts towards raptor. But overall it was a failure. Free death week previously was a way better event and an incentive to get new players to actually go do the boss without worrying about death costs but now that the ring of death is fixed, jagex needs to find better ways to make ppl try out bossing or new bosses.

Never got anything. I actually got more drops before the event. I mostly do croesus, before that event i got top, bottom, and boots. The event came out, and now I'm 180 dry (not crazy, but still...)

I got my first FSOA piece at a 36kc lol duo split, that was the extent of my luck

A high drop rate means it drops often and a low drop rate means it drops rarely.

This event was okay, I believe it made a lot of players think about drop rates more critically than in the past. There truly is a need for some sort of bad luck mitigation at most bosses, but it is hard to add that without devaluing items. Even if it only increased every 5 kills, or if you got less the more people involved in the kill, knowing that you are truly making some sort of progress towards a drop is great and it should be the right direction for long term game health.

I think it's okay for the items to devalue. Once you buy them it's an investment. If you get another one you make your money back, or better yet it incentivises people to get their own gear by doing bosses. I don't see any reason items should be anywhere over a billion.

@@Etsa yeah, maybe the big drops shouldn't be quite so valuable, but part of the appeal of bossing is getting that big drop. As long as whatever BLM is used doesn't absolutely crash the items and they retain a decent value that would be ideal. I agree that 1 bil is a crazy amount for some of this stuff to be.

Im like mid tier pvm (focusing on Vindicta for the D rider lance and Hellwyr who sucks ass lol) and I didnt get one drop. I will say though I was extremely happy greater concentrated blast plummeted in price recently. Got it for 155m and prolly coulda waited and got it cheaper yet.

I got 2 rare drops at nex, but nex has a great drop rate to begin with. What perplexed me was getting stone spirits twice with favour?? U telling me stone spirits was the best of 3 rolls? When its the absolute worst drop nex has?

Myself and my whole clan over 40 people we actually averaged worst drops on the boss killed then we normally would have what a failure

I got it from raids but apparently raids weren’t affected so I burned it for nothing lmao

I don't think as a player base we can know the true effect of the raptor event on its own, but if jagex has the necessary data (average price before and after crash, source of item being normal kill, raptor kill or fsw ) then with the right statistical tests they can actually find out how much of the variation is explained by each source.

Raptors rampage should be active every weekend for players whose boss drop log hasnt updated after weekly reset. I play only on mobile and at last got ancient emblem for lantern from Nex with dead touched darts. This way Jagex would make newer players stay and old player to come back for at least weekends. Also economy wouldnt crash that badly from alts because of weekly limit.

Got 3 drops from raptors: drygore long, virtus gloves & a Divine sigil. Better then nothing 🤷‍♂

wait wait the bad luck mitigation only applies to 100% enrage? I thought it was only after going dry for 10 kc on any enrage.. :O was told the best method for was to farm 50%

I used a death touched dart on ambassador everyday of this event and didn't get shit, which is crazy if you think about it

My ironman darted the kalphite king and got an off hand mace :) I don't think they should bring this event back. Too much rng involved. I'd rather see more bad luck mitigation like Zamorak.

I got some drops from nex. But it's a bit underwhelming.

Btw if they add a token for the raptors favor, it would still be shit. Id rather take a soul reaper refresh or even life refresh at this point lmao xx

I got all three Eldritch Crossbow pieces thanks to the buff somehow

After getting nothing on the raptor event on top of having 550 zammy kc with 2 drops and 150 ed3 solos with 0 drops the only thing it made me was uninstall this waste of time.

What I hate most is that it benefits elite players more than people new to bossing... bosses most effected are also considered as hard bosses.

Not once did I obtain a single item smh.

I personally didn't get anything from it, but my irl friend made about 5.5b from it at zammy and Zuk

I have 4 accs. I hsed dtd that ive had. Stocked for ages at nex cus im a noob pvmer. Got.. Torva legs, pernix top legs cowl gloves, virtus gloves.

I got zero uniques from it. At least it motivated me to do a few daily higher level bosses, with no result unfortunately 😛

Got one drop from ambi sold for 317m

A big fail. I missed golems and 60 mins of elder overloads. Got 0 drops. But I learned solo Ambi...

I got 2 magma tempest abilities and zuk core + pet

Used it twice at amby, switch to kerapac and croe. Got nothing.

I got a rax eye so pretty lucky

I think this is great, cause it let noobier people actually get loot from bosses and introduced them to loots they'd never see otherwise. Only people who lose from this is the already really rich

Overall I think the event was a success. One HM Zuk a day over the event got me 6 drops. 2 Magma Tempest, 2 Scriptures, 1 hilt, and 1 magma core. It brought down the prices of a lot of super expensive items and made it more affordable for mid level players. Over time the prices will go back up since the event is over. I'm gonna use my sword pieces to craft a EKZ and sell off the rest of the pieces in a few weeks to buy a HSR.

I have always thought that PvM requires better gp per hour compared to the rest of the game. Completely necessary.

I had 2 bil ed3 chest stocked up before this event and I sond 2 bil chest for 1,2 so.... EZ and also get 0 drops in event each piece is like 350-400mil

Did nex and ambi and raksha,nothing

ECB was already dropping pretty steeply over the past 6 months.

I think i killed Ambassador 8 times with the rampage active, and my luck of the dwarves was a lot more influential in my loot

Minor Argument: I don't think the GE is a good metric for figuring out the actual influx of items into the game. Selection Bias means people pay more attention to the drop rates. A lot of people in my clan (and elsewhere) mistakenly believed this meant items would become 3x more common. Misunderstanding statistics is a pretty frequent problem in RS.

I'm salty and very confused by this raptor buff. The typical spoons in the clan got mad loot at rare bosses and I had 3 or 4 of my friends doing hard mode zuk and 2k zammy every day and we didn't get a single drop. Not at 3/13 not at 3/5 chance for almost 2 weeks straight?

Gotten 4 full books without the favor in one day.

Every drop I got was after the buff was gone lol
