Focus should be on having few people fighting effectively, with good equipment. Not on sending large number of people with poor equipment, letting them die and then compensating their lives with money. We should avoid deaths, and use the money to make their life better by investing in infrastructure, healthcare and education.

This is my view I think agniveer should be there with additional benefits but apart from that i think there should be a parallel recruitment for people who want to join army after the age of 22 - 23 for 4 years or 5 years and they should not be given chance to serve whole tenure or a very short percentage of them should. This way a graduate who wants to explore or serve nation will have chance and will be back to regular life before 30. The reason why i said this is because a teen who is joining for agniveer is looking for life and the pool of those who just want to serve will be very minimal. On the other hand a 23 24 year old joining the force will have a pure motivation of serving the country. Plus they could get the benefit of understanding arms and be much more equipped with technical elements

The army said but where is the transaction statement which says that the amount is disbursed and credited to the family.

Govt need to either bring heavy reform or roll back agniveer it is bleeding them politically, they have to do it next couple of months to control the damage

Insurance payment can't be considered any govt benefit. Both payments are insurance one from SBI and another sainik group insurance. Father of the shaheed clearly said that the sainik group insurance payment was made yesterday, means after Rahul raised the issue. It is clear that Rajnath Singh lied on the floor of the house. If army pays for the insurance, it is compensation. Who writes the cheques doesn’t matter, if it is not the agniveer who has to pay for it. These have been part of package computations for so long in private sector, how are you not aware of this? Stop creating conspiracy theories, every govt dept is slow. This should be verifiable and has been confirmed by the family, and if you are not happy about it don’t join as agniveer.

Employee is accepting the insurance cost in his salary. It is just not reflected in their salary. And insurance varies with gold plan silver plan which employee can upgrade too based on their needs. Learn the difference between insurance money and paying lumpsome money from your own pocket.

Fun fact they have had this insurance for the last 25 years. 😊 . My father is in State service and he has Medical insurance fully paid by the state gov. in case of death during service since 1995. Good thing all of them would be receiving pensions once they retire after 35-40 years of service. Thank you Mr. Super intelligent sir. And the state gov of Punjab have given 1cr. to the family. That is what should be called compensation. The thing which you are referring to as Ex-gratia is a legal requirement as per Military service rules. The Ex-Gratia component should be the payment other than the insurance. I knew very well that Gappu brigade doesn't understand the meaning of Ex-gratia but would come to bark. The ex-gratia amount would be the 67 Lac which the family is yet to receive.
