I personally agree wirh Eggrypted here, the community and push of constant yet simple updates along with the mass leaks and fresh new updates every 2 weeks - 1 month just made it better to me. Even stuff like the Smaller = Bigger update which added Pursuit, a great tower and the War Machine was given to moderators, with them showcasing it it gave people something to look towards and find cool that you couldn't possibly see in game. While as now it's nothing like that, I mean sure the quality has been drastically improved but at what cost?

Yeah, with it feeling serious, with a theme, and good mixups of tower, but it was also quirky, with the upgrades, the simplicity of old Roblox, and not at all serious, with u being able to do so much more combos than now, and everything being viable for anywhere like ranger, being viable for just about anywhere besides some places without cliffs.

I joined around July of 2019. I've been in the TDS community for a quite a while. While I don't hate the monetization, I do agree that the crates are a bit too pricy & grindy. My only real problem is the lack of unique skins. Wraith Minigunner, Partisan Outlaw, Redemption/Golden & Kasodus Cowboy, where all skins that felt like care was put into them instead of just being another number in the pile of skins. We have been seeing more unique skins be added to the game, which is nice. But I still want to see the old ones be remade into something more akin to their original designs.

yeah i really agree with the skins, the game just lost so much of its old "school project" charm and is aimed more towards money making now. its not a bad game necessarily, just lost a lot of the goofiness and less care that made it a lot more interesting and fun to play.

sure new tds has much “better” graphics and stuff, but there’s stuff about old tds that makes it better in my opinion back then, you could use any tower you want like rocketeer and you would still win (unless you’re broke and you only had scout and stuff), you could beat events without needing to follow a strat, everything was a lot more simple and you were mainly playing for fun (with goals along the way), the game was less laggy, etc.

The gladiator event was pretty hell, no one really was that good at the game. I believe that is the event that was pretty difficult for the time

I’d say the new is just more polished then the old tds but the updates have more large gaps in which could cause the players to get bored instead in old tds they had a lot more content to consume and there was more updates stacking more content for the players.

Inconsistent updates aren’t really the game’s problem, its more of the developers. Take tds legacy for an example. The game is dedicated to being a recreation of the old game and would likely never get actual new features. The game will likely die out after the game become fully complete with missing features they haven’t implemented yet. Which would probably be one update or two

I keep on rewatching this video, the editing is just amazing and your just such a good narrator :)

I really loved old tds due to its artstyle and design of the towers and zombies that made everything unique, and the amount of replayability with the platinum crates on top along with other cool skins

I think which I love more about old tds is the old balances for towers Like cowboy making a bank vault for shooting Outlaw having hd which can kinda help And also the old bugs example - the unit slowing

it always makes me happy when your an old fan of a content creator, been subbed since 65k and this dude is making the best content imaginable. Oh and, I played 5 matches of night 1 in solar eclipce and didnt play until 2022 christmass

Old tds just had something that kept bringing us back to playing it and it felt (unleast for me) kind of easier at the time

I've been along the ride since Koneko made a video about it (2019), and as much as I look back on what was in the past before, I also enjoy the scale of these massive updates, even if I don't get to play as much anymore, due to being pushed away by both new and old players, atm I've moved onto Tower Heroes atm for their Doors collab, and I appreciate the relatively welcoming environment it has compared to TDS. In the end of the day, I really just wish to have fun with games like these, man.

Lemme put it this way tower wise. Bloons TD has had the same lineup across almost 10 years if not 20. They have only had a few additions of towers up until heroes. After a certain point adding more towers beyond is hard, but making every tower capable of soloing harder modes is also a thing that needs done

I 100% agree with u. It’s hard to come up with new towers after you add the core towers that every roblox TD game has. But while bloons may only have add like one tower every few ish years, they sort of add 3 cause of the different paths and not to mention paragons. All this to say that in TDS, what u see is what u get. There’s no crosspathing, no insane tower concepts so once you unlock a tower and play one match with it, u have seen everything and go back to playing with commander, farm, DJ and 2 other meta towers

2023 has probably been one of the worst years for TDS, we haven't gotten anything major gameplay wise in a long time and its been 7 months since the last event. On top of this we've received very minimal communication from the devs and it just seems like something has changed.

agreed 2023 is terrible for tds as of now due to no leaks and the most updates weren't a gameplay update but more skins idk what they are cooking but it is most likely something big well we have to hope that its something good

Yes, something is a bit fishy in the TDS, but hopefully it will recover on that "big update" they are promising. Hopefully. It is sad to see what became from the TDS to be honest.

Joined around 2019 and came back to tds after a year or more of not playing it. I think the best part about old tds was definitely its more ambitious updates and more dated graphics and gameplay. I remember in the christmas update of 2019 the only thing i grinded wasn't the archer tower or anything else but it was for the lazy couch emote which i enjoyed using all the time, and also getting my first golden tower around the christmas update as well. It is awesome to see stuff added that wasn't in the more dated days of tds like the golden affect feature, matchmaking, unique events and alot more, but the price of that unfortunately was the spirit of the old game. But its still great to see tds strive after all these years of development. Unfortunately for me though as i lost access to my account that had these memories and had to switch to another account which made me start over

i think both old and new are fair and i like both (except that hey didn't update for a long time now) great vid !

I like old tds way more for a few reasons for example even tho the graphics were fairly simple I honestly enjoyed them more than the current way too much detailed towers and I find old tds gameplay way more fun as it just felt something different everytime I play and also other stuff as great balancing making every tower have Its own way of being good and then also the entire overhaul update kinda ruined tds for me completely and I don't really think that's something they can revert for me

​@@sillycatowouwuatleast to me its a mix of both nostalgia and how great it was, like for example how much more strategy was needed for fallen mode with the dmg shields, so you needed racketeer or mortar. Or another example is when wave 20 was actually hard, now it's just easy with accelerator.

I started playing TDS a few months (I think) before the 2020 Easter event and I quit after a while but when I return to the game it’s completely new and it’s kind of confusing. I also have an Easter bunny skin for scout and apparently it’s rare so that’s cool.

This video just gives me nostalgia... I played this game since late 2019, I remember me and the boys doing lots of funny things. We found out how fallen easy was back then, cowboy was easy to get (two molten bosses only), glitching out of the boundaries and stepping on literal air and reseting makes you unable to sprint back then (funny yes I know). We would also just have a good time watching the outlaws just spamming purple lasers into the zombie's face and unlocking platinum crates (removed now)... What great times.

I started tds in 2019 autumn. I remember the old music which play at the lobby. It is rlly nostalgic

What I miss the most from old TDS is the lobby design especially during the SFOTH event and it's music, other than that. Commander ability stacking was very poggers.

You’re not looking back far enough, mid 2019 was where it was at, on my only account I had commando shredder and swarmer. But I had no idea tds got that many players BEFORE the hardcore and mega updates, I thought it’d only peak at a few thousand.
