@@graysplays most of exo songs the Mv and the lyrics tell 2 different stories, so I wouldn't worry to check them together. The winter songs and mama the lyrics match with the mv. To understand what is going on in the mv remember they are aliens with superpowers that were sent to earth by the Mama (majesty) to protect us and defend us from the evil of the red forces. Every mv is connected to the story line, but nothing is in order. Lotto and Monster seem to be matching in theme. Overdose seems to be like they are trapped in a labyrinth by the red forces, is the same in Lucky one. The lyrics of Mama (their debut song) explain quite a lot about their concept.

Overdose has both K and M members in it but the first verse and chorus are by EXO-K and 2nd verse and chorus are by EXO-M but the whole song is in korean. The ending (before Tao does a flip) had EXO-K on the left and EXO-M on the right. The guy you thought was chanyeol after the 2nd chorus was Tao, an ex-member. Chanyeol was in the first chorus behind D.O on the floor and you also got Sehun right after the rap part at the end.

And if you watch the EXO-M version the singers are reversed (EXO-M starts, EXO-K is second). It’s the same song/different language but some of the choreo is different & while some footage is used in both versions there are minor differences in camera angles. It’s definitely worth seeing

The one who did the flip at the end of Overdose MV was Huang ZiTao. He's skilled in Martial arts and he's the one who actually do stunts but thats also the reason why he got injured.

Overdose is better than their best title track, hands down.

EXO was never promoted in western countries. SM focused their market in Asia especially China, that’s why all their mvs have Chinese version. Caption/subtitle started in 2019 - Obsession mv for international audience. Also, fyi, NCT has a group for China called WayV (One of the member is Lucas, also member of SuperM)

@@graysplays That's right 🤧 I'm exo-l since 2013 (but Overdose in 2014 defined my destiny in kpop) and it's the only kpop group I like. 🥺 I can't imagine life without them, I'm in my 25s, but I honestly can't forget them. 😭

You have a good ears on Beakhyun's voice!

"Overdose" came out in 2014 and this is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV. (Kris left the group right after this MV was released and Luhan will leave within the next 6 months.) How EXO worked back when they were split up into the two groups was that all the members were in both MVs, but the K members were featured more prominently in the K version of the song and the M members were featured in the M version. As you saw, in the EXO-K version of "Overdose" the K members sing the main parts of the song, but if you watch the Mandarin version, you will see the M members take over the main parts of the song and MV. So, even when the MVs look the same, they will always be slightly different because the members are assigned different parts in each MV. For example, in the Korean version, the EXO-K rappers (Chanyeol and Sehun) are the ones that are part of the rap section. If you watch the Mandarin version you will see Kris, Xiumin and Tao are the rappers because they are EXO-M's rappers. Tao is also the martial artist of the group, so he is the one that does the flips and stunts in EXO's routines. You should watch the Mandarin versions of "Overdose," as well. :D If you watch EXO-M's version of "Overdose" you will understand why we say even though they may seem like they are similar MVs, there are distinct differences between the Korean and Mandarin versions that are important to EXO's storyline. Plus, I think you may even enjoy the Mandarin version of the song just as much, or more. Also something to note, you see Kai in the beginning and end of the MV in the Korean version because he is the center and visual of EXO-K. However, in the Mandarin version you will see Luhan fills that same role because he is the center and visual of EXO-M. Plus, Kai and Luhan were each others' power counterparts as well. So this establishes the connections between EXO-K and EXO-M. Kai and Luhan were supposed to have a bond that connected the two groups and made them one as part of EXO's storyline. In the the MV what you saw is that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. For example, in the Korean version you see Chen throw a beam of light which is an example of them using their powers. Chen has the power to control lightning so he tossed a lightning bolt to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because Lay has the power of healing and he can heal himself. In the beginning when you see the EXO-K members making that picture while standing on each other, they are forming their hexagon symbol which is EXO's official symbol. (In the M version, you will notice it's different members.) The different sets you see, are thought to be different rooms within the maze, or maybe alternate realities or time periods created by the Red Force to lure the EXO members to them. So, the story in the MV is pretty much the members trying to summon their powers to try and escape from the maze.The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him strength, so he was using the sand to build his strength back up. The other members were also trying to use their powers of teleportation, fire, light, etc. At the end of the MV we discover that the maze has only one way in and no way out. Which I think is meant to represent and mirror the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. The maze was also EXO's logo for this album and it is shaped like EXO's hexagon symbol. Although, in the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. As the English lines in the song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is) fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... You're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug. However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in "Lucky One." In "Overdose" the members get trapped in the maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. It is thought that the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The maze dulls their senses and makes it so they lose the ability to use their powers at full strength, etc.The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze and brought to the government facility by the Red Force and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in their "Lucky One" MV. In the story in the "Lucky One" MV the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One" the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in "Lucky One" to the story in their "Ko Ko Bop" MV. One theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One" and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Suho mixes and the members drink is supposed to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop." As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together.

Okayyyyy, I think you should start reacting to all Baekhyun's Title tracks. UN Village Candy Get You Alone and Bambi or maybe do an album reaction, but the vocals will make you breathless like for real. Thank you for this reaction

Exo story line is so convoluted that only SM Ent knows what is up. We all try to come up with our own theories but none has been confirmed correct. I enjoy the MV as is coz trying to figure out how it fits into the storyline is gonna give you a headache. Cesar Oh channel has Theory Guides (parts 1 to 8 and counting) too but you can watch that in your own time and preferrably when you have watched majority of the MVs

Exo originally had 12 members. 6 were EXO- K and the other 6 were EXO-M which is EXO-Mandarin. EXO-K members include Suho, Kai, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, & Sehun. EXO-M consisted of Chen, Xiumin, Tao, Lay, Luhan & Kris. Which Tao, Luhan and Kris are no longer in the group. So all the members are in each video just different language. But EXO is just amazing in their own right, any beat they make and it just flows like water :)

EXO will not stay relevant till this,day even in their military era, if not for their great discography, performance, attitude towards work and vocals. They are just so good in what they do. Stanning them is one of the best decision I've made in my life!

tbh EXO was the only group i follow other than JYPE Group, you don't know how much i love EXO, especially EXO M back then, overdose is fave comeback till the storm was coming, anyway great reaction, as always..

All 12 members are in this mv. So this is by both exo K & M. Only 10 in call me baby(2015). That was 9 members + Tao. Since that there were only 9 members. That's why lotto (2016) has only 9 members. After that in some MVs there's only 8 members bcz Lay couldn't participate in some due to political conflicts b/w china & s korea. In obsession (2019) there're only 6 bcz 2 members (xiumin & D.O) went to military & Lay couldn't come. In don't fight the feeling (2021) there are 7 members bcz xiumin & D.O came back from military but Suho & Chen were in military and LAY came back 💖

So here is the deal.....EXO's concept is extensive and so very unique. EXO are alien Legends from EXO Planet. They each have a super power, (even the former members) and they have a main enemy who has now come to Earth called the Red Force. The Red Force, which is what brought EXO to Earth, has been battling them for a long time. There are so many theories and even we hard core EXO-L's are not entirely sure of the whole story. We get storyline in snippets with every MV, Solo MV, their concert performances, VCR's, their choreo and even sometimes in MV's with other artists, like SuperM. Jopping is the perfect example of their superpowers being utilized. Kai's superpower is teleportation and in Jopping, right at the beginning, he teleported to the front of the line ahead of the other members. Baekhyun, who's power is light, is seen with it all around him or he has total control over it. You'll have to at some point look into the theory videos, there are quite a few. The other thing to note is that the MV's are not in chronilogical order as far as storyline in concerned. Another dilemma that keeps us on our toes and in the dark. So here, I'm pretty sure and you can check with Anitra from Say What Reacts to be sure, but we believe that at this point in the storyline, Redforce has captured the members and has trapped them in this maze. You'll see in later vids that they seem to be being experimented on or studied. Flowers and the cubes have a huge meaning and the colors Red, Blue and Green. I'm not as good at keeping all the theories together, but I get the basic jist. Right now after obsession, you saw the two different outfits, one black and very battle ready and the others shiny and super colorful. The colorful and loud outfit styles are EXO's clones. I won 't go too much into it, that should get you interested to start, but def look up the theory vids and check with Anitra of Say What Reacts. She is so much better at the theory stuff than I am. Also, i love how every song you have been so pleasantly surprised and enjoy the songs so much.....let me tell you hon, you won't find an EXO song you won't like. They are very good at making songs catchy. They are consistent and very good at what they do. Every member is a vocal, a lot of them can rap, and all can dance. Every member is needed for this group and you can mix them however you like in whatever groups you choose. SuperM, EXO CBX, EXO SC, EXO......SOLO....however you want and it will always amaze. I can't wait to see all the other songs and MVS of theirs that you'll dive into. Time Stamp 6:19 the guy to the left of Kai while tapping their cheeks is former member Tao. More members here? Yes....EXO was orginially 12 members strong in 2012 when they first debuted. All 12 members are in this video. As of today, EXO is 9 members strong, though a bunch are currently serving their mandatory military service. Yes, Tao actually did that flip at the end. He was very talented with martial arts and SM utilized that as often as possible. EXO K and EXO M is confusing you I can tell. So they were all ONE group. Their main motto is WE ARE ONE. They mean them and us. The reason there are two sub units of EXO K and EXO M at the time was because EXO is a joint project between korea and china. So, concerts were done all as one, and each sub unit would tour on their own EXO K Singing songs in korean and EXO M Touring singing in Manderin. They promoted in both Korea and China. When three of the chinese members left, they switched back to one full unit. Lay is the only remaining chinese member. So now, EXO sings all songs in Korean and the main title song or MV Song is the only track done in both Korean and Manderin on the album. LOTTO: time stamp 15:03 in your reaction that is in fact Baby Baek. Also, we're pretty sure the SWAT are agents of RedForce. OMG Your look at the end when you saw Chanyeol got caught and then the girl handed him something or just touched him secretly.....that was us when this video came out. LOLOLOLOL, I'm telling you, we LOVE LOVE LOVE their concept. It's mysterious, its intriguing and we are never sure exactly what's going on but we freakin love it. Overdose brought me back after I dropped kpop for three years

I'm really glad that you like both songs, cuz some people don't like lotto due to auto tone but I think it's a great song and it shows how versatile EXO is and they can latterly sing any color and they will be fire!

Exo has three groups. Exo K , Exo L and Exo M. Exo K is Exo korean group. Members are Kai, D.O Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Suho and Sehun. Exo L is fandom name means Exo love. Exo M is Exo mandrin (chinese ) group. Members are Luhan, Kris, Tao, Lay, Xiumin and Chen. Luhan, Kris and Tao are not active and resign from exo. So now all nine members are united again into one called Exo.

Hope this helps you understand EXO a little bit more: The context: EXO started out as EXO K and EXO M obviously for korean and mandrin with 12 members which is why there are so many in Overdose. Exo K consisted of Suho, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, D.O., Kai and Sehun. EXO M consisted of Kris, Tao, Luhan, Lay, Chen and Xiumun. Not all of EXO M are chinese. Kris is Chinese American. Chen and Xiumin are Korean, but they got "Chinese names" because there were in EXO M. When Kris, Luhan and Tao departed from the group for their own reasons. EXO K and EXO M just became EXO and consisted of the 9 other members like seen in the later videos. (Side note: Tao left a little after Kris and Luhan so you may see the group with ten member like in Call me Baby). I dont remember when or exactly why, but around 2016/ 2017, China and Korea were kind of in a economic "war." Basically kpop groups were making lots of money in china and china didn't like that Chinese people were in these groups and not contributing to china's economics, so they put a hault to Kpop sales and promotion in China and Chinese artists in kpop groups weren't really supposed to Promote with their group, so Lay had to stop promoting with exo for a while and worked on his Solo career and recently that hault was lifted slightly which is why Lay is in their newest mv. The point of that was to say that the original "story line of EXO" was that they were equivelant beings from different planets. For example, Kris was the leader of EXO M and Suho was the leader of EXO K and they had similar powers like mirror images of each other from different worlds. When EXO M and EXO K became just EXO, they kind of dropped the concept all together because it obviously didnt make sense anymore. Now they just nod to it every now and again like in their song POWER or even in their newest song. Hope this helps sorry it's so long, but I thought I would give context.

So in the guides you're watching say their "power" like teleportation, fire, etc. its in reference to the original idea of EXO. On another note, I'm glad I could help! So in the early days of EXO, all members participated in the mv. So you would see exo k in exo m mvs and vice versa. The only difference would be a change of language and focus on the members who belonged to whichever sub unit. So in EXO k overdose the focus of the video was mostly on exo k while we did see exo m in the chorus scenes dancing with exo k.

overdose had all 12 members in it. the one you thought might have been chanyeol doing the cheek thing with kai was former exo m maknae Tao.

Looks like you found your "song" from EXO. A lot of reactors will like EXO ok, but it isn't until they come across that one song that absolutely makes them fall in love so freaking hard. Seems like Overdose is that for you! Congratulations! It's always exciting to see a genuine reaction of joy when listening to EXO! Also, in Overdose when they were in the box room, those were 2 groups of 6 different guys. The group was 12 members at the time, 6 in EXO-K and 6 in EXO-M. The first group in the box was EXO-K, since this is EXO-K's version of the song. The other MV starts in the box room with EXO-M, since it is their version, and you are correct, that version is sung in Mandarin and the basic video is the same, although they were filmed separately (they couldn't just copy the other video). The second group of guys that were doing the aggressive hip thrusts where you didn't recognize many/any...that was EXO-M. Then they all came together as one for the final part in their fancy suits.

Lotto nd monster were at same year so chanyeol was in red hair .. so the first one sitting on the cage was baekhyun with black hair black clothes . And the red head who was holding her and running from cops was chanyeol .. I believe exo was devided to who they kiddnaped her and played lotto to win her and to who wanted to save her .. this is why they burned money .. they don't care for money they want her ..look .. i can't explain .. because this is so relatable with other mvs since mama .. there is a story behind everything if u really wanna know the story behind each mv read the fans articls in google or if u don t want just enjoy the music and don't ask because we can't explain it's so confusing

Chinese/mandarin member: Chen, Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, LaY, ZTao, And it becomes #OT9 only one Chinese member remain and it is Lay and all members is korean: Suho, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai, Sehun, Chen, Xiumin, Lay, Beakyhun. And all of them sing very well even the main rapper sing very well. The main vocal rap very well also. They all varsitile when it comes to be singing. I love when the vocalists rap and when the rapper sing.. I especially love Baekhyun, Chen ,Xiumin and D.O rap. I love when Baekhyun rap in CBX songs.

The one you thought that was Chanyeol in the first part (overdose) is not Chanyeol, he is TAO. An old member of EXO (Omg~ my ot12 heart😭) anyway, during the overdose they performed together with EXO-M.

15:08 that is baekhyun And 11:31 was baekhyun too For Baekhyun,lotto was a sexy era he tried opening up his shirt buttons which he never did before that (ofc he look great 😍) and with all that diet and six packs he was exercising for , made his usual cutie pie face sexy jaw lined one I mean ofc he's usually sexy too but he particularly hard worked on his muscles in that era, so maybe u didn't recognize him because of that

You need to know the background story about the EXO's concept. If you understand the concept, you understand the MV's connection.

Nah, knowing their background doesn't really help that much with the MV's to be honest. I learned the most in the comments of the MV's. Cesar Oh's guides are the most helpful in terms of getting the details and theories behind each of the MV's, but just watching the MV's starting MAMA, doesn't help a whole lot.

You need to watch their debut video Mama. You need to watch both ExoK and ExoM versions so you can learn all 12 members powers as they are aliens with powers.
