Was Nella Right Or Wrong To Take Offence At Fred? | Loose Women

Ойын-сауық

Last night saw day three in the I’m a Celeb jungle, and the drama is still piping hot. After Monday’s Brexit ding dong, First Dates star Fred Sirieix found himself on the receiving end of a different feud with Nella Rose, after the KZreadr was upset about Fred saying he was old enough to be her father, despite her previously opening up to him about both her parents having passed away. She then ignored Sirieix over breakfast before telling him she wanted to stay away from him. Former campate Janet says that although she doesn’t agree with how she reacted, we can never be sure about what’s really going on behind the scenes…

Nella is a gift to the nation. Hopefully finally people will see how this younger generation are simply unable to employ rational thought ahead of their own immediate personal feelings. We saw it in the fall out over Meghan Markle resulting in piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne both losing their jobs. More so Sharon faced a whole panel of women her colleagues accusing her of being insensitive and raceest towards MM. Sharon merely questioned the validity of MM 's claims and was put in the gibbet cage. The panellists argument being as MM is a person of colour her accusations must be believed. The collective shock of the community supersedes any rational clear minded critical thinking. And low and behold Sharon and piers were both proved correct as strangely Harry moon danced back from the racism allegation of his wife instead blaming the media in front of a very confused royal correspondent. Luckily for some not too many acted through feeling over the juicy smollet situation as the egg would still be running down their collective chins. We are now getting a front row seat to the madness courtesy of this Nella.

I don't even watch the show but it was all over my feed. I couldn't agree more with your statement. Why didn't anyone just take Nells aside and just say 'dude, reassess your situation' I also find it weird that on the outside world it's created such a divide between people...in this clip alone I just saw a dude having chit chat/multitasking with a casual comment about how he could be her 'dad' as he is roughly 20 years older. And in response he's disrespectful?!? ...I think we're all just very bored... Sorry massive rant I apologize lol. Have a good day!:)

At first I won't lie I found her quite funny and adorable, then she grated on me. But now, hmmm I'm still unsure but she's okay to a point. Fred and everyone else - yes including Farage, though I don't agree with everything he says, but he can make valid points at times - are all rather bubbly, funny and interesting. While I like Josie Gibson, I did not like how she didn't acknowledge Sam's hard work in the swimming trial (though I'm fairness Nella did stick up for him & showed gratitude).

Why are you not a fan of Fred? 😂 I can’t see why anybody would dislike him haha. I completely agree with your other point though, the Hurd mentality demonstrates a greater issue in society.. instead of going straight to Fred and getting the context, all the girls automatically sympathised with her and cuddled her like an injured baby deer. If one of the other girls held her accountable and said “Nella, I appreciate you’re sensitive about it but he’s apologised sincerely, it was an innocent remark and dragging it out and being rude to him is just petty and bratty” then she wouldn’t be so entitled.

How ridiculous. It could be classed as a patronising comment if they had been having a disagreement about something and he said it as a way of belittling her side of the argument. But it wasn’t that! He was talking about his own eyesight and needing glasses, and then he made the common comment of ‘I am old enough to be your dad’ as a joke when she said 51 isn’t old. She absolutely made a fuss out of nothing and has made the camp awkward for zero reason. She has really shot herself in the foot there (oh look-another common saying. I do think it was an overreaction 100% agreed -BUT I do actually think that he was coming from a place of minor annoyance when he made the dad comment as well and he sort of intended to put her in her place by pointing to their age gap. I think he was slightly annoyed that she couldn’t understand the deterioration of his vision and it was a slightly backhanded retort. Nella has of course overreacted in a major way though

I think Nella's behaviour was self-centred and indicates a lack of empathy. After Fred explained what he meant and apologised she should have let it go. She never considered the emotional impact it may have on Fred to start ignoring him, then accuse him of hurting her and then not to accept his apology. She then went on to garner the support of others and treat him as an 'outsider'. People can struggle emotionally just by being in the I'm a celeb jungle, and to have to live among someone who is ignoring you could lead to a feeling of isolation. But she showed no concern that her behaviour could negatively impact on his mental well-being.

I lost my Dad at 19, a long time ago now, so I understand what it feels like four years into the grieving and you are hurt and angry and that does come out in unusual ways. That said I met quite a lot of people who used a similar type of grief as a weapon, whether it was belittling the grief of others for not being on the same scale or just using it to justify their irrational behaviour. She had a night to sit on this, he apologised. I think it's a shame that she couldn't see it for the comment it was, because it makes her look dangerous. This is someone you have to be so careful around because if those cameras are not on and she accuses you of something extreme like that there is no defence waiting. Fred is lucky anybody saw his comment because if they hadn't all they would hear is that he insulted her dead parents. Her actions belittle those who deal with grief quietly. It's not about what happens to you in life, it's how you handle it. She needs to learn that the easy way, or life will teach her the hard way.

Emotional maturity is the difference. She overrated, wouldn't expect a grown man in his 50s, with much more life experience and a family, to react the same was a young girl in her 20s..think about it. She needs counselling 100% as she is obviously still grieving massively.

@emlh5423 That's my point. Think about it yourself. I wouldn't expect a 26 year old to react in this way either. Concentrate on the words.

Oh trust Janet to come out with that diatribe. Fred was not patronising at all !!!! He purely made an innocent comment and because Nella is from an entitled, offended, woke generation- she wanted to take offence. No doubt to try and rake in more subscribers to her channels. I hope it backfires on her. She has a lot of growing up to do and actually deal with the real world instead of acting like Catherine Tate's character Lauren !

Janet Street Porter needs to stop thinking she's a 20 year old woke student and start thinking like an adult.. if that's at all possible. If this woman is going to take offence to an everyday turn of phrase like 'I'm old enough to be your dad'.. she's going to have a very unpleasant life on this earth.. we all lose family and parents, she uses it as an excuse for some sort of elite privilege to demand respect. A little education is a dangerous thing.

It is sad to see generations on display in this , Fred tries and goes to apologize (let's be honest , he had no need to, but he tries) and Nella is like this is my position, and I don't care about anything else

I see why Janet wanted to bring up Nella's background story in this but that's still not an excuse for Nella to behave the way she did. I'm 28 and my dad died last year, I would never have taken offence to what Fred said. Nella was just looking for more airtime and she got it, at Fred's expense!

Patronising! What planet are you living on Janet. If anyone was disrespectful it was Nella. She should of listened understood and come to a mutual resolution and she didnt even repeat what he said or the environment and conversation in which the comment was made. It was something totally different

Janet has obviously had a word from 'Nella's people' to spout her defence and tell people to not vote her out. Nella has also been quickly given extra screen time. It's all about how much money managers throwing at the producers for their 'celebrity'.
