Literally tallied up the amount of times they both initiated a clinch from round 1-5 since I couldn't find the full round 6 online, and it was a 6 clinch difference. KSI had initiated 22 times and Tommy initiated a clinch 16 times, Tommy being the one tangling KSI is arms up the most. Maybe if I saw round 6 the gap might have increased but I doubt it be a massive difference. People also don't get that KSI is fighting style requires him to stay on the ropes/outside so his reasoning for clinching is valid since he wouldn't be able to circle out to his left or right constantly AT ALL whereas Tommy could have easily done so but instead chose not too step back or circle. My point is they both clinched but one had a reason too while the other had multiple times where he didn't have too(Tommy). In other words they clinched hella times, because I didn't include the amount of times they both initiated a clinch at the sametime(both were planning or wanting to clinch)or where they both HAD to clinch. So if JJ should've gotten a point taken so shouldve of tommy because they both did enough clinching to be called excessive and were both warned multiple times.

I actually think the way jj fought was the correct way. Tommy has way more experience and skill than JJ. So if JJ had went in there actually Trying to box with Tommy, he would have gotten smoked, but because he kept bouncing throwing the ksi special (overhand right) and then clinching, it actually dismantled most of the strengths Tommy has in his game. So basically, I think JJ did the best thing he could do in this fight with everything stacked up against him. (Btw this is coming from someone Who thought Tommy would easily win this fight).

Tommy also missed most of his jabs and only landed 12 the whole fight, his right hand most of the last and beginning rounds bounced of jj is gloves or were evaded by jj with ease and in the clinch was outworked therefore gave him ring generalship for the two early rounds aswell as round 5. Tommy also wasn't able to start off his combinations as it all led off is jab which again was negated the whole fight since JJ blitzed either out of range or into range where he landed(most non-clean) overhand rights and initiated the clinch. Same with Tommy although he mirrored JJ but worse because everytime he would not land his double jab he would also result to a clinch and since JJ had a higher percentage of his punches landed he did better in that department. JJ again fought by the ropes and the outside but tommy once again landed nothing significant where as the stats that were just posted say jj landed more power shots in round 1/2 & 5 and also outlanded Tommy in all 3 of those rounds...So how the fuck does Tommy Fury Win when even the stats favor JJ winning. Something that needs to be addressed is how many people are dishonestly and ignorantly exaggerating Tommy's experience to make JJ look better. Tommy has not been training seriously his whole life like other pro boxers like Viddal, for example. Boxing was on and off for him. He's only had 12 amateur fights as a teenager (Viddal had 49 amateur bouts). Tommy is a novice and is basically still gaining his "amateur" experience. As a novice, he's fighting Jake and JJ, who are better/more dangerous boxers than a lot of the bums that pros fight early in their career.

JJ had a pretty negative gameplan. He was clinching excessively, and he barely landed anything clean. Most of his punches were little taps in the clinch. Tommy had a horrible gameplan and was trying to force a knockout, but he was initiating most of the action and landed the better punches. The point deduction was arguably harsh, and it was definitely inconsistent seeing how JJ didn't get punished for the way that he fought. He kept pushing his head into Tommy and locking his arm.

You have to give JJ some credit for his athleticism and getting the best out of his attributes. However, that's where the praise stops. The same people who were saying Tommy is getting KO'd and he isn't good before the fight, now want to talk about how JJ had such a close fight with a pro boxer and that Tommy is embarrassing, when they never rated him in the first place. The same people who are hating on AT's performance against Kenny are over-praising JJ's performance. JJ clinched excessively and barely landed any clean punches. He was fortunate to not get his own point deduction for the way he fought. When compared to Jake, he fought a version of Tommy who was trying to force a knockout and wasn't boxing as much, and he fought only 6 rounds as opposed to 8. Another important thing to touch on is how people were dishonestly and ignorantly exaggerating Tommy's experience. He hasn't been training seriously his whole life like other boxers (Viddal, for example). Boxing was on and off for him, and he only had 12 amateur fights as a teenager.

Another thing people are saying that I need to dispel is the idea that you need to KO your opponents to be considered a good boxer. Tommy is naturally not a big puncher, and when someone just tries to survive and not engage much the way JJ did, it's even harder to KO them. Tommy not finishing KSI is not why he had a poor performance. He performed poorly because he was trying to force a KO instead of boxing, and he made no changes to his game plan.

in boxing close fights usually go to the champ. Can anyone really say KSI did enough to CLEARLY beat Tommy? No, so Tommy wins. Simple. Add to the fact that Fury was poor and still was more than enough to beat JJ shows JJ's level. If Tommy actually boxed properly he would have jabbed JJ into oblivion for 5 rounds and either KO him the 6th or just win on points. All this after talk just seems pre planned for a rematch and another big pay day for both. The way Tommy fought seems like a split decision or close win on points was the aim the whole time to set up a rematch too.

Also during the break of the fight Ksi coach told ksi to keep cliching and putting his head to the side so tommy can hit him in the back of the head and get a -1. You have no clue abt boxing, excessive cliching should cause a point deduction but for some reason the ref accepted it
