I would say one of the best things about geats is how metta it is when you really read into it like each support rider I think represents a different type of fans / parasocial relationshid. Aspects of how the final boss wanted the series to have a bad ending and all the characters are fighting for a happy one can be read as a response to fans wanting the series to be darker again. There's a lot of aspects to it's story that elevate for me but I also get how those might not always work for everyone

8:07 Actually she only blown up the Jyama-arena. That's why the cast was safe in the next episode, & the Beroba's gang had to move to a warehouse during the JGP arc

How in the hell you thought beroba destroyed the whole planet? If so, how is she still standing after that blow, and before the blow she just said that the garden is useless, therefore she destroyed it

I personally found Geats very enjoyable, like through out the entire runtime of the show

Geats is one of the best seasons period. It's just behind Build for me

got to say Geats was very satisfying till the very end, it felt complete

Im pretty sure it's Bandai that makes the toys not plex. Also as for riders with accessories, punk jack also has an orange Cape. When the management tries to end the world at the end of the season, its important because it won't just regenerate like before, the dgp ends and they all leave. Neon didnt wish for a boyfriend, she wished for true love that she learned not to misplace in boys and solved things with her fam who made her feel that way to start with.

You did speak about the toys, you said "alot more props have to be given to Bandai and plex here" then went on to talk about the buckles. I'm just clarifying that plex does not design those toys.

The thing is, it makes sense. The DGP staff is replacable just like a company staff. Who cares if you're passionate about your job, the second you do a bad thing, you get fired, just like what happened to Girori. Geats is really a critique show about the entertainment industry and the game show industry. With fans, supporters, and the audience dictating what SHOULD happen in the show.

I liked show still from start to finish despite somethings that I didn't like. But I can't compare this to Ryuki at all. Gaim is more closer to Ryuki honestly. And if you want to compare what series had more riders before Geats was Hibiki and I don't see people throwing a hissy fit over that season.

I thought the initial premises of Geats was interesting and I was fun watching the riders progress through the games. But by the end, the story was getting really annoying and repetitive. I've just recently finished Ex-Aid, and am currently watching Zero One, and I personally think Ex-Aid is the strongest out of the three.

I wonder if the thing with the DGP and it's staff is a sort of re used idea of Zero one's corporate narrative

Michinaga was either a poorly written anti villain or he's just shallow which really sucked - I thought he would have depth like Kaito Kumon but nah after defeat after just being petty to get back at world he's back to supporting the good guys again and without really suffering any major narrative repercussions. Geats had potential, it could have lived up to be more - the opening is an absolute banger, but yes it's average I find. I've heard people say Ex Aid mid way around when Cronus came around felt like they were tinkering with the script but dear god I love Iwanaga's acting and the medical drama coupled with video games motif was so good! NGL this is coming from someone who was really turned off by Ex Aid at first because of the childish/cheesy Level 0 chibi costumes - It was like watching SNES game centric based HOUSE and the edgy side riders became likable. There are also subtle Jojo Bizarre Adventure references and the Kamen Rider Chronicle Game just felt like Sword Art Online again. Zero One on the other hand was just .... I'm sorry .... "sucked" - Aruto's humor very cringe - or I just don't like puns in general unless they are used once in a full blue moon. It had promise to turn into something like a Detroit Become Human but just fell flat on its face. I do have to admit the later half occurring during the pandemic could have contributed to bad production value. I've heard Beroba in Geats be compared to Junko Enoshima of Danganronpa. I think Yuya Takahashi really likes to reference Danganronpa and Sword Art Online in his three works so far. What's surprising though is at the music in all 3 of Takahashi's works is amazing imo regardless of story quality.

​@ChristianAntwan believe me, there are probably some people out there who don't like Build. For me, if we don't count the showa era because I haven't watched it yet, Build is the best show of all time.

I too though she nuked the entire planet, but acording to the plot she just destroyed her own base of operations(Original Yamato Garden) but yes They totally ran out surprises by episode 30 and just wing it extending it way more than it was needed too. particulary Beroba and Kyun felt totally imcomplete(hell Beroba was so incomplete she lose to Buffa beacuse they forgot she has her Queen buff and fought Buffa as a rider)

Am I the only one who didn't enjoy Geats that much? Idk, most of what I heard were this great things about it, watched it and it wasn't that impressive... I also didn't care about Ace until we get to know about his past but even then that was not enough... I mean, is not like I dislike him, but neither I liked him... The whole show felt weird for me... I like the idea of it and some of the things that happened, but the execution and how some things developed Overall... Idk man... Which made it weird to think when I found out Geats creator is the same as Ex-Aid and Zero-One since I really like those shows... Help, I can't understand why some people love it so much 😭 Or is it just a me thing having watched the Tournament/Royale Concept many times in other media making it very predictable?? 🥲

3:16 i can answer that. For some reason there are a lot of people who like side characters, not the protagonist or antagonist but side characters. So the writer have to find a way to get more screen time for those characters and for kamen rider series it's either be a kamen rider or have a relationship with kamen rider.

I feel like i gravitated towards Keiwa alot because he reminded me of Shirou Emiya from Fate/StayNight ideal wise too some degree

Gotta say geats is an enjoyable season to watch. if it gets released on blu ray by shout factory, then I would buy it. I have my DGP outfit from bandai premium, big fan on the uniform

I kinda think the comparisons to Ryuki only really land when the shows both have a similar battle royal/competition premise rather than just having 10+ riders in one show. Gaim and Geats share this with Ryuki so they’re easy to compare. Shows like Ex-Aid or Saber are totally different otherwise. I do agree that modern Rider shows have waaaaaay too many Riders now. Hopefully Gotchard returns to just have 5 or 6.

The ending is satisfying

I agree almost 100% on your thoughts on Nago and Buffa. I wish I enjoyed the cast of Geats more, everyone seems to really be fond of them but I was really disappointed with their respective arcs. Geats felt way too restrained by the show wanting to always make him the coolest and most perfect guy, his unique interactions with the cast really dwindled as the show went on and i never got the sense he could ever fail so the attempts at selling that never felt exciting. The cool thing about say, Tendou from Kabuto, was that he had moments of vulnerability and it was clear his god complex was a result of his trauma. Not saying Geats needed to be that exactly, but i wish he was more complex. Keiwa i like his arc, but they thread it so terribly. It just gets built up to, dropped for 10-15 episodes, and then they bring it back only to resolve it in 3. And his treatment of Ace’s mother and Tsurumi felt so forced.

I enjoyed geats but like the past seasons of the reiwa kamen riders, theres a point in the middle of the season where the story middles about and it drops off for me. 8 out of 10

Kamen Rider Geats Is So Good

(I actually didn't hate Kyuun but _bruh I miss Lupo so much._ 😭She _was_ my ship for Neon.) Also in keeping with Geats's love of meta, I'd always heard that the ending of Ryuki didn't go over well with a vocal contingent of folks, and thus figured Geats was just making fun of/taking advantage of that by making the world-resetting mundane as all heck. Could be totally off, but eh, it's more fun to think of it that way. Cool video. Came to agree with the clickbait title and got an entertaining nuanced deep-dive! _You win this round_

It was written like crap

I'm in the Zeo Agito camp of not enjoying the show the longer it went on. Not bad enough to where I needed to stop watching (Cough cough Revice cough cough) but I just found the start of it extremely entertaining and then they just kinda fumbled the bag the longer it went. At least with Ex-Aid, them going more & more serious was reflected in things like how their upgrades showed more of their inner-workings (An evil brewing in Brave for level 50 and level 100 being his want to just save people) or continuing the themes they set out to achieve with death, healthcare, games, whatever but Geats? I felt more & more it showed me more I wanted to enjoy but they handled it in such a way as to leave me frustrated. Other DGP's? Don't worry, we won't focus on that for too long, the entire reason you're watching. Betrayal? I don't know what the phrase 'earned redemption' means so I'm gonna skip over it. Anyone can become a Rider? When Tsumuri never got the chance despite her having the power to cause wishes & needing it to defend herself, Neon's guards having no forms despite being mainstays of the show, Punkjack spending so much of the show without a form despite being in combat way too often, glasses guy not becoming a Rider again even in his redemption, etc etc. And I wanna make it clear, the show was alright for me, it was way better than Revice for me but it really was just a show of showing the best possible ideas and saying fuck you to any idea of making them realities.

The one rider series I wasn’t interested in from the beginning In almost all rider series I’ve seen I have some interest in the beginning or the few I’ve been around since nothing but rumors and trademarks where going on. But from the very beginning I’ve liked nothing about Geats

While the premise actually got my hopes up, I legitimately disliked it from episode one and hated it more and more each week. Ended up dropping it mid-JGP arc and from everything I've heard, the story only went further and further up its own ass since then. I think Reiwa Rider is simply not for me.
