When he passed away from lung cancer in 2016, the whole nation of the Netherlands was in pure shock and grief for a full week. He was arguably our most famous and honored sportsman of the country post war. Beloved by just about anyone. Especially by people that support Ajax. At that club, my club he is a total legend and his presence is still felt in our style of play today. See our CL semi final run in 2019. That was Cruyff’s doing

I know plenty of people who did not like him one bit and I am Dutch (and not from Feyenoord). There were plenty of Barcelona fans feeling he same, due to his arrogance. Also because he was always into trouble and forced Willy van der Kuylen and Janvan Bevere from PSV ou of the 1974 squad. But we're talking about a different matter here. Johan cruyff laid the foundation of tiki taka which another great footballler in messi took the enormous benefits culminating in 5 champions League. But cruyff is on a different level here when it comes to thinking how a whole team should play and influencing many generations of football history eg barca , spain 2010 and probably Germany 2014.

The coolest thing about Johan Cruijf, is that he loved football, was as populair as a man could get, but decided to be with his familiy when times were tough, instead of playing the world cup. Insane lvl of intelligence. He`s the best strategic mastermind, soccer has ever seen, yet he`d throw his entire carreer in the bin, for his family. Ah, I don't know why but everytime I hear the name "Cruyff", I feel like something tells me the guy has a hidden talent, that there is a mystery linked with the name "Cruyff". It's inexplicable really, I've never seen him play but have watched his goals in KZread. Extra-ordinary footballer and a genius! He played Football and used to make it look so easy. It's definitely sad that the Netherlands couldn't win the World Cup. They definitely deserved it. I pray that he is happy in heaven. The name "Cruyff" will always be in our hearts and minds. well you can only really compare him to messi because he was more of a playmaker but someone like haaland lukaku or ronaldo are main st and are their to finish those playmakers passes.

In present day football there are several players that can match his technical skills. But unlike your average superstar, he made the other players on his team perform way above their normal ability. That's what was special about him.

Cruyff only played a friendly game in the current Ajax stadium that is currently named after him. Ajax played in de Meer stadium and their bigger games in the Olympic Stadium until 1996. The editing could have been done better in that aspect.

He stood at the cradle of the current ajax team to. He was the one who said things needed to change a couple of years ago. Of course a lot of other players, managers and coaches are of great influence but ajax at this moment is there because of cruyfs influence. He would love where ajax is heading and where they are now
