@@Guitareye90 Hahaha you wish, Neace would have to pay me :D. And I think back in season 3 or was it 4 I coached Neace on how not to rage and be the grown up in the game. How ever I been long enough around the game of league to understand the facade behind. Some may claim to be joking, but most people are just riding the wave of mindless babling. You dont need to prove your challenger material over and over again, once you hit challenger once you allready proven you have the material neccecery to be at that lvl. But this hype and drama is very good PR for neace.

He was rusty and had to improve to gain his edge back over the player pool after a lot of time off. I play poker full time and took 6+ mos off, came back, and got my ass handed to me. Had to move down stakes, study re-evaluate and then I got back to crushing. It was actually shocking to me how much better the regs in my card room became in just a short amount of time. I am sure Neace experienced something similar when he found resistance at the plat level (games tougher/ his old strats not working as well as they used to/mechanical atrophy etc etc)... In any competitive arena, people are always improving and getting better. The second you take your foot off the gas is the second you get passed up. Neace took time off and came back to a much-improved player pool. So what if he had 500 games in plat? He needed those games to improve his skill set and gain his edge back. Now he's hit masters after many many games of focused grinding. Completely normal, quit calling it fishy. Good job Neace

I was def put off by that and doubted his gameplay and decision making but he definitely proved me wrong. Overall his dedication is impressive and an inspiration. Almost all coaching is really specific advice, what to do in certain situations, watching 1 game live and correcting things.. this is what a sports or music coach would do with a very advanced person. Most of the playerbase needs to learn the fundamentals and internalize them. We are not ready for this specific advice and can not apply it to our game. As Michael Jordan said: "The minute you get away from fundamentals - whether its proper technique, work ethic or mental preparation - the bottom can fall out of your game, your schoolwork, your job, whatever you're doing." You know guys, he might have been talking about league here, I dont know. The reason low elo is hard to learn is that we don't know the fundamentals and they are hard to even conceptualize at times. So what happens is people just spam cheese strategies and play champs that are hard to face and try to do some advanced thing they saw on youtube. It becomes hard to learn the fundamentals in an environment where no one acknowledges them. On top of that there is at least one temper tantrum per game and we all know what that is like. Content similar to that of a middle-high school music teacher or sports coach would be amazing for the community, if they would accept it...

I don't think Neace is honest though, he's actually quite toxic to people on stream. There's a big difference being honest and point out someone's mistake and the effect it had on the game (watch the BBC video of breaking down Neace's gameplay as an example of that btw; they never flame him and his character, but are really harsh on him as a player) and stating how things are. If you need to be boorish while doing that, you're not just stating what things are, you're adding personal value judgements as well. It could be an honest reflection of his feelings, but that sort of honesty is just unnecessary with people you don't know and are paying you for your services. It does absolutely nothing in establishing trust and confidence and is just poor pedagogy no matter how you look at it. People won't remember the good things from that, but just how bad it made them feel. It can also reinforce negative habits because it made them feel bad so they begin to adapt their play in order to avoid that discomfort, and that can completely stifle their growth.
