That would be a dream come true. Surely TLG realizes that the Castle/Historic figs are always the ones that end up being the most coveted after they release. I hope that happens too, but I’m not holding my breath.

Leg printing, dual molded legs, arm printing and a cape... thats impressive for a mini series.

Love the new Basil Figure and I have picked a bunch up for a small group Fright Knights but if I had one small nitpick with the figure, I wish the shield had silver instead of grey background like the Fright Knight from series 19 and the 1990s Fright Knights. Other than that one small thing, the figure itself is *chefs kiss* perfect.

I just wanna say this: THANK YOU FOR PRONOUNCING BASIL'S NAME CORRECTLY! A lot of videos I've come across pronounce Basil's name as in "basil" the herb. It was kinda a pet peeve for me. And I do like Basil's updated minifigure. Honestly, I think the only thing that could have made his minifigure better, would be a black breastplate with the Fright Knights insignia on the front, similar to the Spooky Knight's breastplate, but black instead of silver. Would kinda give him a more warlord type look.

On fire with these vids lately! I thought this was an overall pretty strong CMF line, lots of really great figs. Basil and Goat Herder are for sure the main reasons, but the others aren't bad in the slightest. Can't wait for the space line!

I think it was worth the wait. Numerous great new pieces and accessories,and I'm really fond of the figures. I especially have a soft spot for that vampire lord ( i think that's his name). One of the best series in my opinion.

Checked three whole boxes of the figs. Couldn't find one Bat Lord, Barbarian woman, or goatherder in any of them. Found plenty of sprinters, muscle mommies, and gamer girls, though, so I can see what figs are popular and which ones everyone would rather toss in the trash. Maybe the ones I want were in the boxes with the small dot matrix codes, but I'm not making any blind purchases.

You can wheigh boxes with scales. Both Vampire and Goatherd are between 19 and 20 grams

@@DUNDOM5 Identifying them by weight is unreliable. Glue isn't applied equally to the boxes, meaning you can get different values out of the same figure, and worse, see increased weight overlap with other figures.

Series 11 Barbarian: Legally distinct Conan the Cimmerian Series 25 Fierce Barbarian: Legally distinct Red Sonja I'm basically always into any sort of historical/fantasy warrior, spellcaster, monster, or animal costume character. So the standouts for me are the train and the noir detective, which are outside my usual wheelhouse but still appeal strongly to me.

I bought like twelve of these, got the goat herd, harpy, two detectives, two Basils, and six warrior women. trying to get at least a dozen Basils, gonna make an army.

Unless they just want to go to the last remakes (chronologically), getting a Frightnight set is not what they are likely to do - I think if they will do anything, they will do Dragon masters and Black knights now (and most likely wolfpack). Here's hoping to a Willa and some random fright Knight / man at arms in the Medieval village to build an army for Basil. Worth the wait!

I was a little bit disappointed that there were no si-fi figures in this series but that is completely understandable because there will be another series dedicated to space figures.

Well, you can switch the head in Triceratops to a black or a red plain one and get yourself a mutant dinosaur creature.

I was so pumped to get two Harpy's! Fury's to lure my pirates!

I was so sad to see that they used the jedi hood for the goatherd because that means the mold for the old villager cowl was destroyed.

not necessarily, the jedi hood looks better in this case specifically. The old villager cowl isn't any less iconic for LEGO castle as the forestmen hats or the bucket helm IMO. The Wolf Pack has it as their main hat. I don't know how much space it takes to keep one of the molds, but surely they must have 1 backup left *somewhere*. In fact, we didn't see the goat mold until this series since LEGO kingdoms. Kingdoms also had the villager cowl in the blacksmith attack set. Keep hope.

CMF Series 25 was a fun series for my 9yo Daughter and I to Build and animate together. We highly recommend them! We made a #short ahead of our full length long form video coming out in the next few days. #bricktimebuilds

I love this new set. There's only three of the 12 that I would only want one of, but none that I wouldn't want at least one of. I've already built a whole Bat Lord family and henchmen using the torso, legs and cape. Its versatile. Also, the collar from the Noir Detective can be used with the cape to give it extra flare. All Hail The GOAT!

I have a cyclops army that I use as 'Orcs'. I have them riding dinosaurs, and the triceratops mini would work perfectly as a rider's helmet!

Such a good series for us Castle fans. Taking that and how awesome 24 was, I look forward to actual series 26

Basil being back? Oh yeah was worth it! I think you forgot about Basil being referenced with the Evil Knight from Series 7 where his bio says he once worked for Basil as well as Vladek and Cedric the Bull (Lego please bring Cedric back!) Willa playing a part of why Basil is the way he is actually canon in some versions of the lore. A US Lego Mania Magazine says Basil was once a regular knight of unknown origin and Willa turned him into the Bat Lord with her magic after he ended up at her manor/castle to shelter from a storm cuz he was lost or something. Lego Legacy Heroes Unboxed also went with Willa turned him into the Bat Lord but she also had him under a mind control spell which Basil eventually broke free of and hates her for it. Maybe the effects of Willa's magic after all these years has finally turned him full vampire. Or maybe he actually got killed and Willa used her magic on him a second time to resurrect him only he came back as a vampire.

The Goatherd is a great figure 😊 and I got five 😅 - Technically I got five of the new Goats and one Goatherd 😉

I like/Love the Mushroom Sprite's Legs & have a Moc Idea for thim, It's Cupid,

I slapped on some pear dark grey shoulder armor and yeah the bat lord looks even more bad ass!

Im thinking the reason why basil dkdnt look like a vampire was because before 2003 they only used yellow skintones.

Baisil the Bat Lord, Detective, Barbarian, Goat Heard, the dog, and the sprite. My children like the train figure, triceratops costume, sprite, and detective. If they were going to put a space figure I would prefer a classic one.

Lego will never admit it, but the barbarian minifig was definitely inspired by Red Sonja comic and movie character.

The reason goats never came in other sets is because Basil had been sacrificing them to the bat gods! Now he is immortal as a vampire

OK, so is it just me or basil the bat lord or the new one comes with another arrow like it comes with an extra arrow is it just me or did I put it on the other side of the attachment to make it longer? I think it looks way cooler

If the Forest man is supposed to be Robbin Hood, Goat Herder is Little John! Also, I like to think Basil because a vampire due to his own actions, preforming some unspeakable atrocity that forever damned him into the state you see before you!

In my AU (alternate universe) Basil wanted immortality. When Willa refused he had her burned at the stake. In her dying breath she gave Basil what he wanted. He was immortal, but Willa turned him into a vampire as punishment. Now Basil, stuck as a vampire and deserted by his men seeks revenge against a revived Willa and the kingdoms surrounding his domain

I’m surprised no one has picked up on comparisons between Basil the bat Lord and Vlad the Impaler Vlad was the inspiration for Dracula, ruled over Wallachia southern Romania) during the Middle Ages and is associated with spikes I think it’s safe to say Lord Basil is Lego’s take on Vlad, toned down naturally for a childrens toy, but still the implications are enormous. You weren’t wrong Brad by calling Basil and endgame level threat, cause if Basil is anything like Vlad, entire armies will runaway rather than face him or his wrath

Well, i looked forward to the serieus... but damn those boxes. Hate it, even with the qr code scan. Still hate it. Favorite ones are the goatherder... and i like him for the figure... not so much for the goat.... if it would with sheep... i also would love it. Basil is my seconds one i really want... i need a few more to build a little sqaud. But everywhere i go. He is gone. The barbarian is not a medieval figure for me... its more viking theme linked, but the print is beautifull!!

Yeah the boxes have made it difficult but i have just been dealing with it. I agree if we had gotten like a black sheep or normal one I would have been just as thrilled. Yeah she is not medieval and more Viking but in my head i just out them all together as fantasy.

I love the series! The minifigs tell so much story, and with some of Lego's minifigs, they feel like archetypes of people I've met IRL if that makes sense.

There wasn't much of a wait to begin with

I don't fully agree about the barbarian. Yes, it has great printing and is good army builder but IMO this figure just lacks value - it looks more as BAM figure, 5 elements and the end. It should have at least some shield or maybe additional weapon. Comparing to Basil which has cape, shield and multiple-piece weapon, barbarian looks cheap.

I love tha Basil is now a confirmed vampire. This moves the Fright Knights closer and closer to being the "undead" faction in Lego Castle. He fits perfectly with the Fright Knight from CMF series 19. I'm gonna put him on a black dragon leading 3-4 of those ghostly Fright Knights and a bunch more skeletons into battle. I wish I'd be able to get more goatheards to customize villagers but unfortunately scalpers got to them in my area. Now the local e-mart is full of those figures for 2-3x their retail price. I blame the goat for which I have no love. The sheeps and cows looks better in my opinion. I will be honest tho, I do not like the material of the new cape. I liked the Falconess cape material over Basil.

I do agree sheep or cows are in a way better. It would have been cool to get a shepherd with like a black sheep. I actually much prefer the material used because they wouldn’t have done printing if it was the material used for the falconer

@@BrickingUpBrad Lego wouldn't have done printing, which is a shame. We have a guy in Poland who makes custom capes, flags and sails with prints and the fabric used is much closer in feel to the falconer/ork cape than the paper-like printed Lego capes. I was literaly afraid to put the cape on Basil because it felt like it would tear any second, and it felt like I was puting a waterproof poncho on him :D

I bought 2 of the 6 box packs and just so happened to get both "6 pack variants" so we got the entire series in one go. one of each figure, plus the 1 barbarian woman I bought the pack for in anticipation for when we'd do the big unboxing (barbarian woman being in my top 3 of the series). I surprisingly feel very underwhelmed with the Basil remake, I'd much rather have the original and I hate that they made him a literal vampire. The yellow skin and simplistic eyes poking through the helmet holes despite him trying to be epic are for me his most distinctive features along with his helmet. Og Basil is kinda cute in a way. New helmet is worse too.

@Bricking Up Brad, Great review! Thanks for that. A couple of nitpicks: Someone who farms goats is a goatherd, not a ‘goat herder’ just as someone who keeps sheep is a shepherd, not a sheep herder. Also, Count Batlord’s witch companion is Willa, not ‘Willow’.
