Here is my question: what did this anniversary really bring to the table? It was just a normal banner and yeah, golden sumo is in the mp shop. Atleast introduce a new low star servant. This was just an advertisement for a summer event. Remember when they released a whole bunch of low star servants in the 4th anniversary? That was something the whole player base can enjoy. All this anniversary did is try to confuse me in the support list. Doesnt help that some people are equipping the buster oc morgan ce on castoria

Exactly this. I like that they gave us access to good past ce's like golden sumo but that's it. This anniversary was used as a summer event advertising and it's lazy. They made so much money, we ain't talking about a small indie dev here.

If only other servants get 1% of the love Artoria gets, it'll be so much fun to play this game 🙃

Imo the most disappointing thing about the anni is the lack of progress when it comes to any quality of life changes. There’s numerous things they could improve on being in their 8th year (nearly a decade) and yet haven’t. From what I seen most of the controversy stems from the anni servant and in my honest opinion I do like aesc/tonelico’s design and don’t mind it at all but as an anni, mixing it with summer morgan (who was anticipated to be a separate unit with her own unique ascensions) and having it as the anni servant, I don’t care all too much for it. For most people I seen, this servant along with the GSSR makes it a good enough anni or at least decent, which in that case more power to you, but otherwise it has been pretty lack luster to say the least.

This is exactly what I feel about the Anniversary. Unlike other dudes who just simp for saberfaces, this is the only one I heard an honest opinion. I know many guys can't get over with LB6 story and such but to this extent as Anniversary and Summer 8 this is just way to disappointment to have the exact same servant in the same month, hope Lasenge would know what "Superhero Fatigue is" cauz many would be "Saberfaces Fatigue"

What disappointed me was the lack of QOL and the stream to NA which was just 4 hours of random talk and 10 minutes of information that could have been posted on social media.

Good on ZTL for addressing this. If anyone is interested, Honako Green streamed his lambasting of this anniversary and it lasted 3 or 4 hours 😂. Some KZreadrs and streamers treat this game with kid gloves and I don't think it's healthy or fair.

Yeah it was a Big letbown, i think that the reason to show early info for summer was just to have the players hype for something, the sad part is that there is still si much they can do from animation updates to qualities of life, right now the only things that were interisting were the rankups and the Destiny summons and the last is just for the novelty of getting something new, but being a paid banner that costs twice is something that most players will not be able to take advantage from.

The more I think about it, the more I dislike the Anniversary Servant. Full disclosure: I still haven't completed LB6, so I don't know the full story with her, but I'm led to believe the Aesc parts of her are basically proto-Castoria, who eventually becomes Morgan. Fine, I have no problem with that. However, I do take issue with the way they designed this unit. 1. I was one of those people who really wasn't a fan of Castoria when she came out. Obvious power creep, seemed to me that someone at DW who loves Saberfaces got mad that Artoria was shafted and concocted a broken unit to dunk on Buster and in particular the current Quick meta. What I feared would happen ultimately came true (despite a friend of mine constantly telling me I had a screw loose) - the Artspocalypse arrived, and Quick never recovered. I've since cone to accept that Quick will eternally be the third wheel, that New Buster is the Old Quick but better, and moved on. 2. With playing through LB6, I finally had a reason to like Castoria as a character. It has tremendously improved my opinion of her as a character. But I'm also very attached to Morgan. Very quickly jumped to the top tier of my favourite Saberfaces list, and is vying for #1 with Lartoria and a few others. Whilst I like Castoria better now than I did before, she is not even in the competition. 3. So what does Lasagna do in their infinite wisdom? Give us proto-Castoria for Anniversary. Summer Castoria for Summer. And a scrap of Summer Morgan just shoved into the Anniversary Servant like an afterthought. This going hand-in-hand with a series of generally brilliant (except Squirtoria) buffs baffles the mind. But that's Lasagna for you.

This isn't the worst anny but the most disappointed one

I mean...... Yes My opinion is that if the only kept Aesc (Summer Morgan) for the actual SUMMER EVENT with THE OTHER SUMMER SERVANTS and gave us an actual anniversary servant, at least I would have not been that disappointed

I think they planned to put Nero Beast on anniversary, hence the GSSR not having Nero Beast and sick @ss summoning animation. But then they changed the plan.

As someone who wanted a new servant (as in, not a version of an already existing one), yes. As someone who doesn’t care for Morgan, yes. As someone who wanted Camazotz, yes. As someone who thought the rank ups were wasted, yes. And as someone who thinks that LB6 already has more than enough attention and *then* finds out 4/7 of the new summer servants are from LB6, yes.

No QOL updates simply just a servant which should've been separate from the anni (imo) and then just SQ and extra rewards for long time players alongside a new gssr. It's worst than mid tbh I'm not looking forward to it once it comes to NA

It's nice knowing we'll never get a proper Morgan alt with Tonelico's release. Thanks, FGO.

"Mid" is pretty generous IMO.

They spent more effort of the music video than the game and yes it was mid and they really should have gave jp something to actually do other than rank up quest and gave let's say jalter and jeanne new animations and new np cause it's been 8 years.

They didn't bring Oberon back on rate up for Anniversary because he will be on rate up during summer. Duh.

I'm not gonna touch my JP account, not until Summer arrives.. I have grown out of my Arts Looping Phase, and I'm now obsessed to Buster Looping in my NA account. (FGO JP : Oberon-Koyanskaya MIA, Kukulkan found dead in the second Archive)

Main QoL change I'd like to see in the future is skip tickets or auto battle feature for content like lottos etc. I have over 500 gold apples and don't have enough time to use them all haha.

@@ninjablade2 Sadly it is the truth for us Rin-face fans. There might have been rate up banners for Ishtar/Eresh (and Eresh did get a new skin in LB 7) but no actual new Rin-face servant since Space Ishtar...

They messed up by releasing Tonelico / Summer Morgan the year after Arcueid, it would be already hard to top Arc off, only some of the biggest names people were anticipating like Olga and Camazotz could've matched her.

As a Morgan simp who has her berzerker version np5 lvl 120 I feel cheated with 'Summer Morgan.' Only one ascension is dedicated to my girl? When she eventually comes to NA might only get her np1 for collection purposes. Would have whaled hard if she was a fully dedicated summer servant.

It's me; I'm one of the ones hyped for Super Bunyan. So much so that I'm already hoarding quartz for next year in the hopes of getting as many copies of her as I can. Considering how unpopular she is on JP I was worried her first banner might be her only one. As for everything else about the anni... Yeah that was disappointing. I don't care about Morgan all that much so this Morgan Alter does nothing for me. A few of those buffs were cool, and I'm looking forward to putting my NP5 Salter through her paces when hers rolls around, but overall it was a bit of a non-event. I will say, though, that I'm glad the new Servant wasn't another meta support because then I would have felt the pressure to roll for them regardless of what I felt about their personality or their character design.

I've been here since year one and if it's not the worst anniversary its probably the moat disappointing one. Man back when we had 1 and 2th anniversary we didn't have perspective so it was a smaller commemoration, but then it became massive later on, with addition of new costumes, a lot of sq, qol and even servants. Now they just gone back to adding basic stuff, which could've been fine if the new servant wasnt just castoria but dps. Then annoucing castoria summer. This was such awful timing, it leaves such a bad taste in mouth. It really feels like the game is getting worser, just the story that keeps going (even though that is arguable since they should already finished the part ) so idk man.. people are talking about "mid" but being here for way longer makes me feel deeply disappointed. Lasangle wasnt suppossed to make the game better???

I had stayed up for the anni stream and when they announced the usual anni stuff , i was like "bleh the usual , half ap , exp stuff open" Then when they announced summer morgan , I just tuned out lol 😂 i stayed up for this ? Most will say Tonelico/aesc isn't the reason it why it was terrible and it's true... The lack or animation updates, QOL changes nor free SSR ticket is the worst part... But I wanna say that as someone who was genuinely excited for the anniversary servant Aesc was (atleast to me) the most boring and lazy servant I we could have got. It was just lazy and uninspired. Unlike some people I didn't have unreal expectations like U-olga or Camazotz but I atleast expected a new servant. Instead we just got another Castoria/Morgan clone right after the announcement of summer Castoria. I hope we get more new characters in the future... No more saberfaces or sakurafaces pls... (I also hope they get more different artists to design new servants)

If I had to pick a mascot for servants that are so well designed they never need a buff, it would have been Archer Artoria.

Nah, this anniversary was disastrous, it might seem like I'm overreacting to it but here's the thing, a few days before the Anniversary people were hyped as hell Summer Castoria had just being announced, it was going to be streamed to FGO NA that implied some big changes to both servers (lol), people were speculating about animation updates (bigger lol), big changes to the game (even bigger lol) and that the anniversary servant was going to be either Olga, Camatotz, Aoko or some other long awaited servant, not another saberface next to a just revealed Saberface (omegalol). Had I said someone during that time that after the anniversary people would be disappointed as hell with pretty much everything in the anniversary and some would be discussing if EoS wouldn't be around the corner people would tell me that if that happened, then that anniversary would be disastrous, yet here we are, add to fact that apparently many people aren't happy with the summer event that like the anniversary was apparently pretty much barebones when supposelly the anniversary was shafted for the summer event that shows that Lasangle is putting the minimum amount of effort on everything. Just look at the NPs of the Summer Fairies knights, all 3 ascensions have the exact same NP animation even freaking Barghest that switches between ST and AoE, scroll two years before and those same Fairy knights have different animations for every single ascension, heck Melusine even has 2 different animations in her AoE NP with Albion and the spear toss just because they felt like it. Same with Castoria and Summer Castoria, the only exception is Summer Morgan but she's the anniversary servant and considering how subpar she is doesn't play a lot in their favor.

You know they could have just made a summer Morgan and a different version for Aesc so that more money will come from variety not quality but in the end I'm satisfied on The witch of rain

A lot of people coping man. I was looking at earlier Anniversary rewards/new things and besides 1st amd maybe 2nd anni, all of them seem better than this one. Which in of itself is pretty dumb, every passing anniversary SHOULD be better than the last, it's not that people were "overhyping" it (though the peeps expecting server merge were coping hard lol). Also, it seemed summer really parasited the celebration just looking at the big servant and the buffs. Anyway yeah, for an EIGHT anniversary this was VERY mid to say the least.

Summer Morgan definitely deserved at least the final ascension art too. Seeing it just be Castoria again was incredibly disappointing... Even a F2P 4* summer Morgan would've been better at this point.

I think it's mentioned somewhere that Nasu withhold any Buff or AU for exclusive event or chapter. They also do the same for Servants. Roland is the example of this. Roland has nodes since the dawn of FGO yet only released recently thanks to the chapter. Lasengle has been taking more L with only few occasionally W in the recent year. Less QOL, no AU, scarce Buff and availability in more country. This is turning into long rant if I continue so I ended it here. Thank you for reading my complain...

It was meh. Savior Aesc and Summer Castoria feel too similar, they might've been meant to be one character split into two. Not to mention, no announcement of animation updates. Eight years and OG Jalter (one of their moneymaker characters) still is a bobblehead. But the worst of all: no permanently repeatable boss fights besides Kiara. The ORT raid, being their most unique boss battle experience yet, was the perfect candidate. Truly a sea of missed opportunities...

The Destiny summon is some bullshit for real. A full 30 quartz? FML.

So jp is goin to get the summer event before NA ok that gives me time to keep stacking

If we want to cut them some slack, 7th anni set the bar too high. However, that's where my considerations for them end. Destiny Order Summon is in concept appealing as it is a wishing well, however, it's too restrictive in purchase. How would I tune up DOS? Make it cost 15 or 20 premium SQ. Because when this comes to NA, in any other currency except USD, GSSR & DOS would cost easily 65 dollars (I blame Apple) and DOS will flop. No QoL is more likely because they wanna have other servers catch up with JP, which wouldn't be a farfetched belief. QoL like everyone's long awaited autofarm (even if it is only for lotto events), improve gacha drop rates or adjusting pity to 200 rolls instead of 330 and still get it even if you get the rate up SSR earlier would be things that many people certainly are going to appreciate. In short, 8th anni was expected to not best 7th, but everyone agrees it was disappointing.

They don't really care that much about NA revenue (besides, GSSR of any for is spare money for them). For example, in the month when Vitch, Oberon, Morgan and Mélusine were released in NA, the total revenue was around 8kk (very high for NA standard); in the same month in JP the revenue was 23kk and that's with a supposedly "mid" anniversary.

I’ve never been more disappointed in this game than when I saw another saberface for anni.

The top thing to come from this was Summer News, while not as much the free sq, rank up quest.

This Anniversary was a big letdown for me. There were some nice stuff: Beyond the Tale, the cute bar skits, the CEs were among the best we ever got, a good chunk of the buffs (which I always look for) were perfect. I won't comment on the Servant or gacha selection too much but.... ...I rarely pay for GSSR because every time I am disappointed. All 4 times I did, all 4 times got me exactly what I didn't want. "Pick-My-LineUp" Destiny Order was what I've been wanting for a while but, in the end, there's still a feeling of bitterness when you get the one choice you wanted the least... And ZTL is yet another person who got just that: the "worst outcome". No joke, only ONE person I spoke too got their top prize; everyone else got their bottom prize, no in-between. It was the last time, I'm not putting money in guaranteed gacha ever again for myself. And that's all I'm keeping from this Anniversary: Beyond the Tale and the CEs.

I’d say it was pretty meh. I liked the buffs, Gacha, and art, but we didn’t get any game changing things. My favorite thing and I think many of us agree was the Memorial Movie.

ZTL, Oberon is coming back in the summer event. They gave him a costume.

They did give us a new mission for levelling on the Class Score and for clearing Advanced Quests…. Just saying. Not the best anniversary but they’re definitely planning something LB6 related in the future.

It was def dissapointing. Somehow, the 2 year lag is not helping either. It was still a fun experience with all the streams, chats, and interactions. However, the anniversary was more like publicity stun for the summer event. Maybe the summer event is big because is writen by Nasu. At the end, there is something missing both game and story wise. Maybe they are unable to keep up with the popularity of the game and are struggling with the current business model.

I'm extremely dissapointed with the annievrsary. I truly think releasing Aesc/Morgan like this was horrible. First of all, they didnt do neither Aesc nor Morgan right. The best thing about Aesc is the first ascension, which is cute and more unique, but ascension 2 and 4 are a copypaste of Castoria, which is incredibly lazy. And ascension 3 is literally shitting on everyone who wanted Morgan Summer. Morgan is not my absolute fave but I like her and I wanted to see her swimsuit version and all her outfits and having this is completely shit. And tbh, I truly think they could have done something else for ascension 2 (and 4). Just make a design that is a mid point in between ascension 1 and Morgan, for example with different hairstyles, the hair starting to become white in certain parts and an outfit that is more remeiniscent of Morgan, to show how she ended up like Morgan. But instead we got a literal copypaste that might as well be a concept art for the original Castoria. Apart form that, I dont like at all the design of the summer outfit for Morgan, I dont feel it suits her. My fave part about Morgan's design is her skin and idk, It just doesnt give me the vibes of Morgan. Apart from that, as you say, the lack of QoL, animation updates etc is shitty. I'm also sad to see the GSSR changing like this, and not because of the 5*, but because of the 4*. The limited and story locked 4* from the first years are still incredibly difficult to get, and at least with the GSSR you could have a chance to get them, but not anymore. Even tho that chance was horrible because they decided to add all non-limited 4* there, which is trash. So we end up with several extremely limited 4* that are difficult to get copies of (something needed for coins and to use them at certain points). Also, I'm not happy with the rank ups. Some of the characters needed them and im ok with them, like Karna and Raikou, but as you said some of the rnak ups are dissapointing and Im very sad to see the assassin was a summer unit but that it was Okita... There are still several summer units that are complete garbage, like Nito Summer (and from other classes for example Marie Antoniette, Medb also should get a buff) and they still dont give them anything. They should just do a big summer banner and buff everything to the point all summer units are AT LEAST decent, given how limited they are. Last but not least, NA was hyping up everyone saying we should watch the JP anni stream and that there were going to be news for us and it ended up being tons of nothing interesting.... So yeah, this anni for me was extremely dissapointing.

Mid is an overstatement

In my opinion, Aesc being a summer as well is not that big of a deal, the only sad thing for me is that we don't get more swimsuit ascensions. Tonelico's 1st ascension is also a really great design in my eyes, the white witch attire is just beatiful, her 3rd form is also nice because I am a degenerate and she has really nice legs, also, happy Morgan is a win for me. I am not a big Olga fan so I really did not care for her chances to be the anni servant, if she was, it would have been the easiest skip in my life, even if she was broken, I found her beast design very... underwhelming, her horns/hat thingy looks pretty awful to me(I am also not sure how so many people got that attached to her, if someone could tell me how it happened I would be thankful, all I can remember is her being a mid/basic character at the start of the game and her having AOE basic attacks in LB 7). I can 100% understand the fans who wanted more QOL changes, but at the moment I really can't think about any such changes that I want so I am not too mad. The only thing I truly am disappointed in is the lack of animation updates(both Vlads, Jalter, Jeanne, and a lot of other servants really need them). Regarding the pools for GSSRs, I can understand that some people may be sad that older servants were not included, but that would dilute the summoning pool even more, remember when there were 7 rateups in GSSRs? Most of them being characters you already had? The Destiny GSSR is a nice way for people to select all the characters they want to see and guarantee one of them, but I think lowering it to 15 sq would be better. Overall, yeah, this Anniversary was not the best, I would call it just meh, or even just fine, but this may also be because Anniversary 7 left some pretty big boots to fill in. Besides that, if there is anything I learned from the "beast" Draco fiasco, is that in this game not everyone gets what they want. Yes, I am still mad we got no Mommy Draco, but got 2 lolis(one of them naked) and a rocker older sister, how could you tell?

I wouldn't have minded Aesc as the anniversary servant, had they done more with her. I feel like they went very...cookie cutter with her by making her caster. I would've personally wanted avenger/lancer/Ruler Aesc where in her first ascension she uses the Spear of Selection for an Buster? AOE attack then in ascension two/three she uses Her current 2nd ascension NP since at this point the spear would've been corrupted by her feelings (or make her keep using it, this is her servant version after all). Had they given her different 1st or 3rd skills, the 2nd skill could've been really awesome and way better. I hate how 2nd ascension Aesc looks like 3rd ascension Castoria, and just in general Aesc looking like copy pasted Castoria even down to the clothes. They did this in LB6 too where Aesc and Castoria canonically looks the same AND wore the same clothes (for reference i'm talking bout castoria's 2nd ascension clothes). TLDR: Aesc wouldn't have been bad per say, but they didn't do nearly enough to make her stand out tbh

we have more Artoria in this game than anyone else… and yes ofc they all look the same- saber alter saber- saber alter lancer- same girl- just bigger bra. this isn’t anything new 😅 Also to say its Mid before the rest of servants/summer event comes out is just a bit much. WE ALL KNOW there is a chance of JP summer event having a part 2… which likely means more summer servants… As for anniversary it may not be flooded with content or anything to jump out of bed over, but i do respect it being not so crazy… this feels like a good anniversary for struggling F2P players or players who cant spend all that much and just missed a lot of these OP servants.

I just wish they give us another free SSR ticket for servant again but it did not happen so its dissapointing

Tonelico is Morgan though? the first two ascensions are also Morgan, like what part of that, do yo not understand?

Yea...but she also looks exactly like Castoria. So while technically it is Morgan, it could might as well just be considered Castoria 2 design wise.

only last ascension is Bezerker morgan. THe previous ones is basically Aesc going to an alternative route, the route which doesn't make her hair white into the Morgan we know. (A cuter version of Morgan)

8th anniversary nothing too special but you have to ask if this was the worst one cause I always hear this or that is the worst thing then change their minds a year later. Sool next time you do a video like this try bringing up comparisons. For the skill upgrades i would say artoria summer is the odd one out as she didn't really need much of an upgrade and the charge is really redundant especially because she's an arts NP servant so what's the point? The weakest one for me is Gawain. Like who the hell is asking for Gawain to get an upgrade these days let alone still uses him after his superior sexier successor to his name came out in lost belt sex and she's the one who got the most level ups according to player base users when she came out among 4 stars. So a waste that Barghest didn't get an upgrade but that may just be due to her getting a summer form right now which is stupid in my opinion but whatever. So this anniversary wasn't really the best one but I don't think it's the worst one either cause I seem to recall people saying either 3rd or 4th anniversary was bad and I forgot which one it was but people said something about how this is the end of fgo cause they say an anniversary was bad like guys I know they aren't always gonna hit out of the park l cause low streaks happen sometimes but you really gotta show me something so bad and terrible they hit target and budlight levels of bad when it comes to losing people.

Pretty sure the number of Women who go crazy over Gawain might out number the dudes who like Barghest tbh🤷🏽‍♂ gotta remember Lasengle mostly listens to the JP community since theyre a lot bigger and spend a lot more money than global (as well they dont complain as much compared to global community)

I don’t get the Morgan argument. Isn’t this her from the start to finish of her adventure? From the bright happy girl to the one who went through hell and was treated horribly? I kinda wish they didn’t make her last ascension “summer” it should have been her edgy self. I hope summer hits hard. Looking forward to the knights.
