Introduced in 1992, the Corvette bass is a core part of Warwick’s line-up. With renowned players such as Dirk Lance (Incubus) and Stuart Zender (Jamiroquai) having used them, you know that they’re made for high performance. The Masterbuilt model is the piece-de-resistance of the Warwick range, if not the complete world of bass guitars.
Warwick’s Thumb bass is a cornerstone of the brand’s catalogue. Used by John Stockman (Karnivool), Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) and Dave Hollingworth (Dorje, Toska), there’s a reason why this particular model is so popular with progressive rock and metal players specifically, and that’s because of its powerful, focused tones and exceptional playability. The Masterbuilt model is the piece-de-resistance of the Warwick range, if not the complete world of bass guitars.

I'm not even a bass player and I love watching these guys jam. Top notch playing and gear
When they switched basses, you could really hear the unique sound of the basses. The Thumb sounded a lot better when the E was dropped. Its something about the lower notes on the Thumb like the low D, C, or B that give the Thumb it’s incredible sound (hear Ryan Martinie, Hansford Rowe, Norwood Fisher, P-Nut. That corvette tone is killer also. Nice video.
A warwick is the ONLY bass that sounds like a Warwick, and the more you play bass, the more you love it.

If you lay down tracks, you'll love it even more. That shit pops and growls without you having to spend a day and a half EQing the shit out of it when mixing.

But can you go into a studio with a Warwick and not get swapped for a Fender Precision (or someone with a Precision)?

Wenge is endangered, but Warwick uses FSC sources. Gorgeous wood.
Bass day is the best if the output from Andertons. Knowledgeable guys and interesting throughout.
always a quality jam with these two
That Corvette bass is awesome. Looks fantastic, and with Nathan playing it, sounded fantastic as well. Nice! Keep up the great work there, lads!
Every Bass jams gives me excitement to learn about what makes them unique in tone, quality, design, etc. that you would see later in the video. Cheers guys!
At last the Thumb gets some love. Hugely underrated. Love mine!

@@alevandet5377 here’s what it is for me. I have a Thumb and a Fender Jazz and they’re both great. The Jazz is famous for versatility; use the front pickup for walking lines in Jazz or baselines in RnB or blues, use the rear pickup for chords, 16th note funk or soloing, and use both pickups for slap, rock or metal. So across all those techniques and genres it can do all of that with the pickup changes. The Thumb can do all of those things *without changing the pickups once* Apart from some changes to the onboard eq it’s tone with both pickups on is phenomenal in terms of how well it handles virtually every genre and technique. Doesn’t mean it’s the best at every specific thing you might need, but if you want 1 bass that can handle anything and still have a distinct, rich, full tone which fills the mix but can still be heard, the Thumb is above the Fender Jazz for me, because that comparison was just 1 pickup config of the thumb vs 3 from the Jazz. If you add the others: the rear pickup of the Thumb sounds like nothing you’ll hear on any other bass, very unique, and it’s front pickup is a mix between a P bass pickup and the front Jazz bass pickup. TLDR: the Thumb with both pickups on can cover basically every single style - with minor onboard eq changes.

You can find a bad Fender... or a cheap fender. You CANNOT find a bad Warwick. Thumb Bass is a PRO bass period

@@alevandet5377 is build perfectly. You can play any style. Is bright but with perfect bass note. Is like sound definition but his own sound... GREAT BASS
That was a killer intro lads! Funky as hell. Man now I miss my Warwick. If you are a bassist and never had one, you totally should.
The bass gigs on andertons are better than guitar gigs... My opinion.

Make a video comparing the Squier Classic Vibe Stratocasters 50s, 60s and 70s.
sounds great! Think the strings sounded a little low to the fretboard especially on the skinny strings
after 50 hours of research ive discovered you are mark kings brother!
For the sound like series can we see an a7x video? It would be sick!
As the owner of a teambuilt Warwick Thumb BO4 - I think its shameful that you demoed that thumb when it clearly needs a setup - the g string was fret buzzing all over the place. If this was the only introduction I had to the Warwick Thumb I wouldn't buy one.
I like Bass.

Used fretless Corvette can be found for cheap sometimes. Scored one for $650 on Reverb. The nut was toasted and the tuners were wreck so I had to replace those. While I'm at it, I'm replacing all the hardware with gold ones. That will put the total cost to ~ $1000 cos my ass is itchy and I blow money on stupid shit like gold hardware. I should be able to recoup some money by selling the swapped out chrome hardware though.

Mutant Baby True. Just gotta be lucky and quick enough. And I have to be able to resist my Warmoth ideas, which so far consists of a mahogany body and rosewood top P bass body with a rosewood neck and Bubinga fretboard p neck.
Why don't they make neck through thumb? And it's too heavy
I wanna hear that bass on the next Frost* you hack fraud!!! Sorry, I didn't really mean that. But also, play it on the next Frost*
it is called 'mojo'
The top horn on those basses look like they're suffering from permanent priapism, but they do sound nice...
lovely basses that i'll never ever play

Seeing people say that these are the ugliest basses they’ve seen. As a Warwick player, I don’t see anything wrong with the body design. But not a fan of that finish on the Corvette here.
Plays for Frost*? Yeah, I’ll pay for that sweat.

I agree, I don't know any bassists that'd spend almost £4k on a bass that's probably only useable for a couple of styles; you could have a P, a J and a Bongo for the same money!?!?
That thumb is so growly
Made from a nice piece of crotch wood from a tree that apparently had blue balls.
You have to laugh at the whole masterbuilt idea when the body / neck is carved by a CNC machine. That only leaves the tuning heads, bridge and pickups to be screwed in by hand. The soldering is done by hand though......same as it is on the cheapest bass you can buy. The frets are pressed or hammered in by a human......but also dressed by a machine. I think a human does put the strings on though. #scribbleyournameonthebackandchargemore
Ugliest bass in the world too... that outrageously penile top! My god! I hate that!
