Maurice was just saying why didn't Miami use the fame of the former players to help the university, like Deion is doing for Colorado. This is all he was saying. He was really complementing them, but sometimes people are just listening to react instead of understanding what is being said.

He questioned why they wouldn't enrich their football program with two HOF players and make another colorado type of situation because he'd rather have two college football programs ran like that rather than one. It was stupid to make a statement like that. He doesn't know the type of relationship they have with Miami University. Sapp is going to coach for the person who is truly loyal, loves, and supports him for him. Miami does not. Miami only appreciates Sapp for what he has done athletically. Sapp is old and smart enough to know he would rather work with someone who is loyal and love him versus a place that just appreciates him and only wants to show that appreciation when it benefits them.

The last I checked, the University of Miami has working phones. They could easily have done the same thing Coach Prime did; however, for whatever reason they did not. Therefore, the narrative must remain as it is, Sapp and Reed to Colorado with Deion. (However, the situation is). Coach Prime is an out-of-the-box thinker and this is not to castigate what Clarett said, this is only to highlight the obvious in response to what he said. If their program meant that much they could have proceeded to go after all three, but did not.

They can only imagine what it could've been had someone not only cared about them as young men but poured into them knowledge and wisdom to increase their success rate in life be it a continuation to football's next level or not! The doing it unapologetically = icing on top! I expect to hear a lot more from Sapp as he's not going to allow anyone to deter from the love fest happening in Boulder, not even a lil bit! Bottom line to the guys understandable question is obvious... CU gave CP the reigns, none of these other schools were going to relinquish that kind of power for him to operate at optimal levels of effectiveness nor efficiency through love and service. It is a business, a business that he's proving can flourish with deserved respect and love for these young men!

I understand Clarrett. And he has a point. Clarett isn't trying to be a coach, thats the difference. But just because you come from a particular university doesn't mean that you automatically get to coach there. Especially when others have earned those opportunities. It wouldn't be right, to tell young men to earn what they get while you would be the living embodiment of usinig your privledge and position to get what you want.

I agree with Clarett. The choice has to be the head coach or the U to offer these guys a job but Maurice has a point. Ed was trying to help a HBCU in his state and they fucked it up as well. I wouldn’t call Maurice a crab but with the comments Ed and Warren made it seems they think Maurice is correct as well.

MC made a good point. Why they pissed at him for it? It’s always strange for me seeing grown men, in their 40s I assume, arguing like kids online.

First and foremost you can't just take a coaching job, or make someone hire you, at any university. You have to be offered a coaching job. If you are not in the conversation you shouldn't accept a coaching job at another university? Is it your university or nothing? If you have a passion or burning desire for coaching , and Colorado U offered Warren Sapp and Ed Reed coaching positions they should refuse because they are Miami alumni and not CU alumni? You figure it out. I rest my case.

Yes I agree with M.C. problem is reading comprehen Sappp took MCs comments wrong he's merely making a point that him and Ed Reeds former school didn't think to do what coach Prime did to emphasize how these 1A programs don't want to hire Black coaches even with there teams struggling Sapp nor Reed should be insult by his comments what so ever it's almost scary that they were offended says something about their reading comprehen???

I get what Clarett is saying and I can agree. But like Coach Prime always says it's about "relationships". CU is the hot thing now and since Coash Prime and Sapp have a "relationship", it makes since for him to go there. But since Sapp is given this chance at CU and will gain alot of experience (which he dont have at this level) then maybe in the future he can go to FAMU and be a coach 🤷‍♀ IF he's even wanted there.

Alot of players don't have coaching history so Prime gave him a chance so hopefully in the future he has coaching history if Miami wanted to hire him.

Ed Reed WAS on the Miami staff! He left the staff to go to BCU as HC and had that viral video that got him let go. But Reed was at Miami. Sapp has made statements about Miami that has rubbed many there the wrong way. So Miami doesn’t really want him. And Sanders go ahead of himself cause Colorado won’t let him hire Sapp cause of Sapp’s background - not as of yet at least and has been told to stop commenting on it.

Maurice Clarett should have questioned or direct his comments directly at The University of Miami. If former players seek employment address it. If your school doesn't take you serious move on to the next one. I like to use the example of Micheal Jordan. Jordan wanted to get a deal with Addidas but Nike gave him the offer. The rest is history. I rather see these former player make a honest living.

It would be nice to see both of those guys back at THE U! But coaching and playing are two different professions. And it is a lot of politics involved. Some things that look obvious ain’t obvious.

I see Maurice's point as well. However, maybe the U do not want them coaching there. If the documentary about the U and the football team is true, the administration did not embrace the players then, and maybe it is still like that now.

Umm, Cristobal is an alum and makes the decisions with our AD and Alonzo Highsmith, another UM alum. Historically, the coaches who accomplished the most were not Um alums (Schnellenberger, Jimmy Johnson, Erickson and Butch Davis (he was an assistant coach before he put together the team Larry Coker won the 01 championship with). Miami has its own way of doing things. It has not worked from 2003 until now, but they are turning the corner with a heavy investment in infrastructure and improved recruiting. Time will tell.
