Warré hive lift
Ғылым және технология
This is my lift prototype for Warré hives. It was my first time that I have welded something, therefore, do not look too close at the welding seams ;)
Ball bearings provide low friction lifting which allows a precise weight measurement. Tests have shown an accuracy of 1-2%. Maximum weight tested: 65 kg. The lift itself weights about 4.5 kg.

wow... I am re-thinking my lift. You can be proud of the contribution you have made by building and posting this... thank you.
1. Great idea! I mean it! 2. How do you keep the suicidal buggers from getting crushed when you lower the supers? 3. I'd suggest that your next one lift the supers high enough so you can remove frames for inspection, and 4. I hope you can run fast if the winch or one of those wooden handles breaks under the weight of all that honey when you've got 40,000 angry bees chasing you back to the house!
Wow, your design is the best that I have seen. I love that it is portable, not on wheels and capable of using on stands. I would love to use your prototype design to build a similar lift for my hives. Is it possible to get a materials list and dimensions from you? I certainly understand if you wish to keep the plans to develop as a business. I really appreciate your video, design of the lift and you sharing the video with us all. Thank you very much! Kevin
Congratulations Kai, you have made a really useful tool. I wish I had something like It.
Great work. Compliments!
Looks great! With a ratcheting belt instead of a fork it could lift any box without having those ledges on the sides. I’ll be doing something similar I think.
Brilliant - working smart.
Well done.
This is awesome to say the least. I built my own Warre hives this past year, sadly our bee supplier fell through. However, this year I will be a new BY beekeeper (13 days to go). My question is... would you be interested in producing a small number to sale (I WANT ONE). This is the best portable version I have found and since I no longer own a truck it would be an ideal 'throw in the trunk' lift. Thanks for any more info...!!
Fantastica soluzione, complimenti
Very Nice, can you tell me what the winch is you are using on this? I am not sure what to look for. Thanks from Canada.
Great looking rig. Do you have any plan to market a commercial version?
Great Job, looks quite convenient if you only have three elements. What about later in the season when you have 5 or 6. I'm afraid it's not going to be very stable
That was good!
very nice ,thank you!
great idea!!!
magnifique chariot une bonne idée Mercie beaucoup
So now that you have some uses under your belt on this design.. What would you change? Especially in terms of stability.
In any case congratulation. I love your concept which is quite secure, easy to use and quite flexible. Congratulation. You picked a very nice music for your video, would you be so kind as to tell me the title of this music which I like very much? Many thanks in advance.
хороший механизм! Спасибо! good!
I am pretty sure I have read that the winch portion was fabricated from an old Mercedes jack...have any more info on that portion of the lift?? Thanks.
This is sooo cool... do you sell them ? i would be interested ! Please let me know!

+Anne-Marie Geneve Hi, I have received no response from the inventor :( I may ask a friend to build something similar for me based on plans I found in a book about Warre hives.

@@beverleylynneharris3308 this guy didn't answer any comments. Build it yourself. I'll make something like this for my Langstroth hives
...should just be called "Beehive Lift", as a Warre system was based on simplicity, economy, and a system people can easily understand....fail
