This man must stop teaching people about God for the Son has not yet revealed to him who the Father is Matthew 11

Sometimes it takes a constant reminder such as when life is not going the way we planned, or why is God not helping us to reflect on what possible obstacles are between me and God. At least that is what is occurring with me. This particular video opened my eyes more fully.

You are to keep your candles 🕯💡 lit until you are called. And if he feels like he’s is off let him mourn and ask so that he will have light again before the great bridegroom returns.

Thanks and God bless - I'm working my way back to God after a lifetime of trying to have my spiritual cake and eat it too! It took me a long time to realize that my own anger, fear and anxiety - and presumably, everybody else's - are really symptoms of self imposed separation from God, moment to moment. It's impossible to face the full horror of this situation without going insane (as some sadly do) but in most cases it seems to manifests itself as anger, criticism, obsession with status and anxiety and attachment to 'the world'. To be moved by our own passions is often to exalt our transient feelings and claim truth as our own eminent domain. But to be moved by Christ’s passion is to understand the entire problem of fallen humanity, and to adore the solution above the problem. Sometimes the solution is indeed to repent, abhorring ourselves in dust and ashes. Yet Scripture says that a humble and contrite heart God will not despise, and that He s close to the broken hearted. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Listen continually for the forgiveness Christ assuredly brings to those who earnestly repent. It is, a Baptist minister once said in my hearing: “The sweetest sound”.

There is hope in CHRIST. Turn to CHRIST, he will listen. Never forget to ask for forgiveness. CHRIST is our SAVIOUR.

God does not want us to live in constant shame and fear, perfect love cast out fear , it's the love of Christ dying for un deserved sinners that motivate us to keep our selfs away from sin, not to earn our salvation but because He first loved us , we obey Him out of gratitude and not out of fear.

It takes great strength to follow this teaching. I t brings greet pain to suffer from the misjudgment of others. It is with ease that we ignore this teaching. It begs eternal punishment to to retaliate in kind to slander and misjudgment. The arc of the bend is strong, the rigid reed broken. The face can always turn to receive another blow, but a fist thrown can never be recalled, only forgiven.

Judgment seems to be an inevitability in life , as one sacrifices their own selfish being and places the word of God at the center of themselves , you go out into life and encounter others and get to know them and then they get to know you . Some of these people turned out to be quite toxic and venomous towards those who have a theological belief , and insist upon not only believing in but expounding lies about things of both great importance and little as well . I cannot believe any type of relationship as a mortal can be held with such people as I've given myself over to the Lord and put Christ before country ! It truly seems that the West is in Decline and that the common decency of Western Christian civilization as we've known it is going extinct .

Hello Father Spyridon. I'm brand new to the Orthodox Christian faith after years of studying with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I wanted to ask, is it wrong to research the biblical past? For instance, there have been explorers that have searched for the Noah's Ark in the mountains of Turkey. I'm very intrigued by this kid of exploration and research but I have been told by an Orthodox Christian friend that all of that stuff doesn't relate to salvation, What do you think of that? Hello Jorge, it is good and healthy to learn as much as you can. But be careful about the sources you read, some scholars set out to present their work as neutral but in fact have preconceived atheistic ideas which they attempt to bend the evidence to fit.

I don't know if you still have that channel but our church studied the book, law of God. We read through it a chapter a day, and some of the most fascinating passages were when the author used his research to confirm the truth of parts of the Bible. Like his original audience, I had studied science when younger so I needed this. He helps gain an Orthodox mindset. One thing I remember is a fascinating tradition about St John the theologian's tomb. I will have to look that up again. I hope you are doing well with your study.

You're right , we study history for history sake and with Fr Spiridon I agree historians can twist history for some ulterior purpose, after all they are accountable to their funders/endowments and nebulous goals. It however does not affect our desire for salvation as long as that desire is genuine and free from self-doubt . we ought to keep history in a seperate space for itself and not let it affect our desire for salvation via confession, remorse and repentance.

I need to hear this repeatedly.
