WARNING--THIS IS HOW JESUS DEALS WITH SINNING BELIEVERS!

Do troubles and trials push you toward God - or away?
Today, look back over your week. How is your spiritual health?
Has it been a week with trials, troubles, or struggles?
Did pressures increase at work, home, health, or finances?
And then what happens inside of you?
Did you cry out to the Lord, fall upon His grace, and turn from any wicked way?
Or did you seethe in anger, wallow in self-pity, or, worst of all, harden your heart to spiritual things?
The test of pruning (which is affirmative) and chastening (which is disciplinary) is in our response.
That is one of the simplest ways to test what is going on in your life.
Pruning always draws us closer; chastening initially can push us away.
TEST #1: When troubles came this week, did you remain joyful, read God's Word with hunger, and talk to Him often in prayer? A fruitful believer who is experiencing the nearness of their Heavenly Father pruning rises to God’s challenge. We move toward the Lord.
TEST #2: When troubles came this week, did joylessness fill your heart, mind, and life? Did your relationship with the Lord seem blighted by sadness or lethargy? Did the Word of God seem unimportant, uninteresting, and dull? We often initially move away or grow cold toward the Lord.
OUR FATHER WANTS THE BEST FOR US
With His heart full of love and mercy, OUR Father, the Vinedresser, is trying to bring the greatest possible blessing into our lives this morning. Listen to these words from a paragraph entitled “Obedience” from Chastening, a booklet by James H. McConkey. God comes to us in the positive discipline of pruning or in the negative discipline of chastening. How does He do that?
It may be through the suffering of your seeing carefully made plans replaced by keen disappointment.
It may be through the suffering of bereavements that tear from your presence - precious loved ones.
It may be through the suffering of temporal losses and broken fortunes.
It may be through the suffering that stalks into your life through the willfulness and sin of others.
It may be through the suffering that sometimes brings you to the brink of a broken faith and heart.
It may be that out of your very agony of heart and soul, the eternal God of love and mercy is seeking to bring into your life the greatest blessing that can enrich and glorify that life - the blessing of your human will yielded to the will of God.
And to be yielded to the will of God means more than silver and gold, more than gratified desires and ambitions, more than the pleasures of friendship, more than all the praises of men, more than all the prizes of fame, and more than the attainment of all your highest earthly aims and strivings. This is the richest and most profound of all blessings - to be swallowed up in the will of God.

Wow. This has been such a blessing. The first time I've ever heard this. Literally my life for the last 10+ years. And I know the sins that are the problem. Pray for me to repent and turn away from them. I've been so depressed about this.

God wants you to be free, and loves you enough to chastise and/or prune you (and me). What a glorious revelation right?! I pray that you can turn it over to Him and come under the understanding in action that you can't do it without Him. I needed this teaching as well, so well put.

If you're a Christian and you fall into drugs, it is grace, I had Grace for 40 years! I asked Jesus if I could smoke pot 50 years ago, He said I didn't have to do that, but I did. I had to go through the drug culture for 40 years but Jesus is true to His Word. He came back in on my 63rd birthday, September 7th. At 9 * 7 is 63! God is AWESOME!!!

This is a vital lesson for me. I'm going through some tough times now, but this helped me better understand what God is doing. One day, these times will be a testimony, and I understand that, but it's pretty painful right now. I've been selfish, and it has cost me, so from experience, I urge others to follow God's will to avoid some of the pain that comes from selfishness and disobedience.

This is in regards to believers who continue to WILLINGLY sin. Its different from just sinning. For example my career, the way I earn a living, is in direct conflict with God. It is blatant and horrible sin. Yet, I'm a believer and a child of God. 59 yrs old. The chastisements ( jailed, kidnapped, tortured, deported, beaten, robbed) And now the trials I am going through ( Sickness, pain, suffering, disease, insurmountable worry) has finally brought me to my knees. Re-surrendered my life to Jesus. I dont know how I will earn an income, or what career the Lord will have me do, or where I will live, or how I will pay the bills, etc etc etc. I can only do it with the help of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I ask God to show me his will for my life and I will follow. I repent of my sins, but need the Holy Spirit to help carry me through.

I've never heard any teaching like this before. I've doubted my own salvation many times. We all go through seasons of chastisement and pruning, but I never realized that it was evidence of salvation. What a renewing and comforting thought God cares for us enough to chastise and prune us!!! One of the most peaceful times of my life was when I lost virtually all my personal possessions in a tornado. It was stressful, but also refreshing to start fresh. I thank God that he would treat us as sons and chastise us. Praise God!!

This couldn't have came at a more perfect time in my life in that I quite literally was talking to my therapist about this this AM. I just told her I wasn't sure if my depression was getting worse or if I was going through growth, cause man does this hurt right now. It's silly I had to even question it because I had been telling myself I'm ok and was just being pruned this whole time. I've known this the whole time but I had a weak moment. I have lost alot of heavy things recently and I know that God has had His hand in every bit of it. Chipping at me like a sculptor does at marble, burning off the dead bits like in renewing pasture, and making me so uncomfortable I had no choice but to move. And hopefully soon, I will be on the other side of this hard thing just like every other hard thing I've been through already because He's beside and always sees me through.

Christ...MAS. Nothing to do with Jesus. 25th December is historically a day dedicated to pagan worship (BC) implemented by the Roman catholic church (AD) I believe christmas is a great deception which has infiltrated the Church. Great question and encouraging to hear a Christian ask it! All an individual needs to do is look up the pagan traditions and winter solstice celebrations and how they influenced the Christian church- 25th December the Ancient Roman's worshiped their sun god.

Matthew 3:2 Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, Matthew 18:3 Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. John 6:27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal. John 6:54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:58 This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.... Kinda weird how people think this verse must be wrong because there are other verses that are supposed to say we can never lose our salvation. Supposedly but you think God is going to take us to heaven against our will or something.

The Holy Spirit has revealed in the 20th century that purification for sinning believers has been provided for in God's Plan of Redemption. Clues are offered in the New Testament from Jesus's discourse with His disciples and Nicodemus. Christians mistakenly believe that Jesus freed them from all wrongs committed against fellow humans. That is not the case although most wrong-doings are remitted in part and the severity of the punishment does not necessarily match the nature of the wrong-doing. God's Plan of Redemption was primarily to absolve humans of the "sin of Apostasy" committed when we sided with Lucifer aeons ago in Heaven in an attempted coup against the throne of The King of Heaven - Christ. When Jesus restored the sight of the man who was blind from birth the disciples asked: "Master, what sin did this man or his parents commit that he was born blind?" Reincarnation was a commonly held concept in those days and Jesus did not rebuke the disciples for asking such a question. Instead He explained that in this particular case the man was born blind to glorify The Son of Man - in other words the man was incarnated, or placed upon earth, blind, in preparation for Jesus's Ministry - nothing being left to chance by God. Similarly Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus that while he was too old, with little time left on earth to rectify all his mistakes in life, upon his death he would be received into Christ's Kingdom from whence he would have the opportunity to incarnate on earth once again in order to make amends. The term "to be born of the spirit" was meant to describe the process of believers being born on earth from Christ's Kingdom for the purpose of purification of the soul. The opposite term "being born of water or from below" describes the pre-crucifixion situation where everyone was born on earth from Satan's realm and returned there when they died. After the crucifixion souls incarnated on earth from below and were accepted into Paradise - the closest part of Christ's Kingdom to the earth from which the purification process commenced. Give some thought as to how the cycle of genocide, murder, and hatred is broken by a soul entering the world as a Downes Syndrome baby born to loving parents upon whom that soul is totally dependant. That is all part of God's Plan at work on earth.

1 John 2:1-4 KJV My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. [3] And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. See there! Jesus is propitiation for ours sins; therefore to keep not the Commandments of God is sin. Scripture support 1 John 3:4; sin is transgression of the law. ( 10 Commandments thou shalt steal) Therefore the vast majority of Christians hate the Commandments of God. They love the man of sin the Antichrist the Papacy who think to change God's law Dan 7:25.

wrong.....when the verse says that we have everlasting life and eternal life and also when jesus says we shall NEVER perish then to lose salvation you then call Jesus a liar......cause never means just that...NEVER.......plus everlasting does not mean conditional.......scripture says God alone keeps and maintains our salvation by his power and his faithfulness..therefore we have NOTHING to do with it and can not lose it ever by anything we can do by thought word or deed......and if one can lose salvation then they would be greater than God by being able to undo the new birth.........so since you think you can lose it then go and go ahead and undo the new birth..good luck you need it...
