That would be my take on the phrase as well. Poorly worded, perhaps with an intent to hide the truth. But there are places that want to limit ammunition supplies to 50 rounds or less, in total, in all cartridges. You see this in the media when the reporter will say that the bad person had more than 500 rounds of ammo. That is of course true, a 500 round box of 22LR and a 50 round box of 32 ACP along with a 20 round box of #8 12 gauge birdshot.

I watched a 10 year old girl not only handle one without effort but also did a complete manual of arms and cleaning after firing off several 29 round magazines, one in particular at full giggle. As for .50 caliber, that would be a single shot weapon, I do believe.

Stockpiling ammo does nothing to endanger the public. It's not as if you can carry all of it with you. Whether you have 200 rounds or 20,000 make no difference to "public safety." The ONLY reason they would want to ban stocking ammo is to protect themselves. They don't want you having ammo because that means you'll be harder to control when things go bad. I'm trying to keep this youtube comment censor friendly and it isn't easy, but I think you get my point🙄

So, as an avid trap shooter, Senator Cardin thinks I should not be able to buy Estate Super Comps, which my old BT-99 loves, by the pallet! These people have no idea how many cases of shotgun shells a serious shotgunner goes through in a year of practice, fun shoots and competition. Serious competitors in other shooting disciplines do the same. We should insist that, before anybody can run for a state or national office, the candidates must pass a "knowledge of firearms and shooting" test. There should also be a test on the Constitution with a clause that says "you break your oath of office and you're out, no if, ands or buts."

You pass a bill requiring full transparency of the organizations or people that are administering the test including the political affiliations, tax returns, and other data that's necessary for public transparency. Do you work for the government? Are you a paid government contractor or have you ever held an elected or appointed position within government?

They think a standard 14 round magazine for a glock is high capacity. they'll probably try to pass a law stating any box of ammo larger than a 50 count CCI standard .22 container. I figure you might be able to fit 6-9 9mm rounds in that box, and of course it wont fit any of the scary long rifle ammo like .223.

This is true, most street thugs that commit gun crimes have the same bullets that came in the gun when they got it. A single mag full will last them for years. I am convinced that people only become politicians for one of two reasons. 1. They have failed at every other career path (whether through sheer laziness, immoral or unethical character or not being very smart) 2. Ammo Stocks = bullet loops on the stock ... only a d bag would need one ... WTF . Real Men put Ammo in their ammo belt loops !!! Just like in the movies ......

What's most worrying about this is they're probably referring to something that is very real, and hoping no one notices.

High ammo stocks, they mean nobody needs more than one shell. That’s the one you save for yourself

Politicians that dont know about what they are regulating should be barred from any laws made to that subject.

This guy is so out of touch he's trying to ban Spencer Carbines now.

The Spencer repeating rifle should be banned. The word "repeating" is right in the name! This rifle, when in close proximity to an AR-15, becomes a bump stock. Furthermore, its .52 caliber rounds need to be licensed.

Oh he means stockpiling ammunition. You will only be allowed to have “x” amount of ammunition for your government approved firearm(s).

"Ammo Stocks" -- he had me fooled and scared $hitless after I pondered the meaning of this and FINALLY came up with -- BANNING / limiting the amount of supplies of ammo by caliber or gauge. For example, "what's my STOCK / inventory or stock pile of 9 mm in 147 grain and 9 mm in 115 grain?" For some, especially with 9 mm, the answer would be: "sorry (NOT !), but can't really count that high. Next question?" "Thank you, 'Copper Jacket TV.'"

Term limits will solve so many problems.

Guess what? Congress decides and votes on bills. Do you think they will vote for term limits on themselves? Hence the problem.

He must be referencing the Evans Repeater Rifle. Real firearm, it's a .44 caliber rifle that uses a 28-34 Round Rotary Magazine in the stock. I'm sure he still has no idea what he's talking about but, what is the only example that is a similar to what he said.

In this midwest town of 600 homes it is estimated there are 300 shotguns, 900 centerfire rifles, 700 centerfire handguns and 1,000 rimfire guns. Including all the reloading capabilities and reloaded ammo there's an estimated 2.5 million rounds in town. All in private hands of citizens.

And here I was concerned they were going to ban the shell carrier on my shotgun stock. That’s the only thing I could think of when I saw “ammo stocks”

Told my wife about senator (He doesn't earn an uppercase "s") Cardin's desire to ban "high-ammo stocks." She owns firearms and gave me a blank stare. I asked, "You don't know what that is?" She shook her head in the negative. I told her, "Nobody else does, either." The ignorance of people with the power to create laws regarding subject about which they know absolutely nothing is stunning. Sheila Jackson Lee was just like this when she was on the Houston City Council; always arrogant, hateful and ignorant. She should never have been elected to any position.
