To be honest, I really love and adore the 1996 logo better, because it was childhood and nostalgic favorite of mine

Even more interesting is the fact it's based on a fanfare WB used in the 30s. Remaking a classic fanfare with electronic instruments, basically.

So glad I can use Internet because people here really think about the most important questions, such as how the Warner Home Video logo evolved through history. Abraham Lincoln
I like the WB studio reflective logo animation and the soft theme that comes with it. By far I think it’s the best one Warner Brothers ever made.

@robjackson5245
Жыл бұрын
It scared me more because of how industrial it looked. Now it's beastin' as fuck. If I had been exposed to UPN when I was very little, likely would have scared me too. Saw The WB (via WPIX The WB 11 cause I lived in the city of Brooklyn) and that logo didn't scare me. That "11" was an eyesore. Then I got exposed to the The WB logo. That's how I knew The WB had nothing in common with Warner Bros.. The former is Tribune's attempt to whiten WB. Another stupid lame logo. Even when I was a kid I knew UPN had more in common with Warner Bros. than The WB. I'm reviving UPN, which was more popular, and creating WB, a real Warner Bros. network.

Ahh, the cheesy shield - ironic that name is given cause this was the most gangsta era of Warner Bros. Home Video.
I only recognized the ones from 2003 (Matrix Revolutions DVD) and early 1996 (w/ Twister VHS and stuff). I wish they'd go back to the 90s version specifically: very unique, sometimes intimidating, but an absolute classic there.
Child's Play (1988) brought me here.
I always wondered if Jerry Goldsmith composed the melody of the 1986 home video logo or something, because that tune plays at the beginning of Gremlins, when the WB logo appears and it fades giving pass to the movie itself (And connected to the movie soundtrack)

That fanfare was originally composed by Max Steiner in the 1930s. They re-recorded it for the Gremlins soundtrack because that was the first movie in a long time to use the original shield logo, as opposed to the Warner Communications logo, which was nominally silent. And I've noticed that recently, Warner has gone back and replaced THAT logo with their current one on DVDs and things.

The Warner Bros. Equivalent to Disney's "And now, our Feature Presentation."
2nd one (1986-1997) kinda freaked me out a bit. I think the 1986 one came on before Police Academy 4 on VHS. Still have it.

In fact , the 2nd logo have been released (i suppose) FIRST in Canada in 1985 . I suppose this because I have the Original 1985 (French Canadian) 1st pressing of ''Gremlins'' and the opening logo is this one and not the 1980-1985 (\\') logo . Even the cover have the WB shield logo .
