Animations like this take like this a lot of time. So if it was like this you would get a small 3-5 minute animation a year at best. But of course most don't care they just assume it's all easy.

They really are paying homage to the earlier days of Warhammer 40k. Not just the historical fluff but the retro beaky design era (mk6 corvus). Really a reminiscence of LE2. This trailer also shows the massive events that took place in 30k. The abundance of space marines deployed and destroyed by the thousands compared to the much later skermishes of small squads, the terror of multiple titans unleashed on a single battlefield, Horus almost winning the battle over mankind. And whole worlds lost and engulfed by the the flames of war. This is literally mankind attempting suicide with his own power. A complete failure without any gain, now remains a cripple slowly decaying.

As nice of a homage to earlier editions, it doesn't make sense for all Astartes Legions to be mk6 corvus beakies, since that pattern was produced in small numbers as test models for specific Legions and only in larger numbers for the Raven Guard, who upon getting to Terra were given great quantities of the finished design, hence why they are one of the few Astartes chapters still to have most marines as beakies to this day.

​@@Crucial_End There was a marked difference between mkII crusader and mkIII iron armour (limited manoeuvrability), and the much improved mkIV maximus with it's highly advanced built in systems and much lighter and tougher armour plating. Heresy era (mkV) was a mix of the previous 3 with it's makeshift heavy bolts along the shoulder plates and other areas, as the each legion added extra unorthodox plating to withstand the bolter rounds of enemy legions. It's safe to say that this armour mark was incredibly low grade and much inferior to the previous marks, but needs must when you need to repair armour quickly or you don't have all the parts for it to hand. The problem is also compounded when you realise that many forge worlds produced their own variants of each armour mark, such as the Calth pattern of the mark 2. What became mkVI corvus was a highly advanced suit that combined all of the hallmarks of maximus with none of it's downsides and added many new systems as well. It was just being produced and shipped in limited numbers to the legions 6 or 7 years prior to the beginning of the Heresy. The largest number of test models went to the Raven Guard who were chosen as the main test candidates, and were the ones who gave most of the feedback, which resulted in corvus being one of the quietest and advanced suits of the time. mkVII aquila isn't really much more advanced than corvus, it mainly only focused on improving the existing armour plating, and the Raven Guard having lost so much manpower during the Heresy and largely being forgotten about and ignored while the Imperium recovered, explains why they still largely use, and their successors still mostly use the beaky armour today.

I like how they made Horus look still human. Some versions had him like pale and dead looking but it shows he's very angry, he's very much awake, and will get his shit done(not).

After horus got gibbed by Leman he went full chaos, never left his ship after this point. This would have been heresy era but pre Horus is full of all the chaos power. So this was Beta Garmon, given the variety of legions, or maybe Molech?

This animation of this art style of warhammer really needs to become a movie, or at least a show in my opinion.

“Son, I got a project I am working on back at Terra. I can’t give you the details but it’s gonna be great for humanity. Moving forward you are war master”. 2 minutes later “Ya know destroying humanity seems like a good idea”

Horus was about defeating the emperor and taking his place,he thought he could use chaos as a means to an end,so if he won and managed to kill the emperor,chaos would've killed him,and the imperium would've plunged into deeper havock,so him dying was the lesser evil.

Yes, brother, it's capture the books of HH so well, I imagined all of this when reading epic sieges like battle for Molech or Istvaan massacre.

It makes it look like physical models. Not 'real' so much as made from real figurines/puppets, if that makes sense. Either way, I bloody love it!

Absolutely beautiful, thank the emperor. We may never get a movie adaptation of this great epic saga of Warhammer 40k but at least we got this trailer. Now we can dream.

I didn't know I needed this, but 4k and 8k Grimdark is more beautiful than it ought to be!

They probably won’t but imagine they did short animations like this as an overview or taster for each legion Also do you think there will be an imperial fists/Loyalist side of the trailer released when the box is? 👀

I saw this several times but this is the first time the resolution is so good it feels like I have every character in there like figure pieces- well painted at that.

They were introduced shortly after the Istvann Massacre. The Raven Gaurd were the first ones to use them (hense why it’s named after their Primarch Corvus Corax) but the other loyalist legions eventually got their own suits.

Almost no one actually did. It went in production really late and only few Legion had access to it (and many didn't like it en he why Horus diverted it mostly to the loyal Legion he liked the least). It was mostly common in the Siege of Terra and the Scouring. I see this as a sign that they want to progress the story to the lastets stage of the heresy and I think its a great idea, but I still hope for plastic MK II to start my Dark Angels

@@averybishopmartin6964 MK V probably comes within 8-12+ months of the initial releases, probably as the 'new shiny' to sell the first big campaign bolt-on book/s... Right now though, it's all about pushing the MK VI, probably as a nod to RTB01, and because beakies are pretty popular. GW already has MK IV + MK III armour sets for sale, so those likely won't get re-done & upscaled until at least Heresy 3.0 release in 3-4 years time.

@@ColonelBragg well sometimes the voice is not what makes people Charismatic but their words. If he knows what to say then many may agree with him. As for his voice, the trailer looks more during the time in later parts of the war so we can't be certain how much of him changed between this moment in the trailer and the earlier moment when he rally all his followers.

@@ColonelBragg as I said we don't know how much he changed through chaos corruption between the time he convinced half the Imperium to side with him to this moment in the trailer which looks to be set later in the war. He could have still maintained a good amount of his old voice during that time he convinced half the Imperium to side with him and as the war progressed and more chaos corruption changed him his voice developed to what it is now in the trailer.

This is a trailer for a series of books. We're talking about books. So. Awesome...that they have their own trailer.

So, I tried counting those drop pods at 1:10. Once it ticked over 100, my 'that's fucking impressive' gauge finally cracked. That was the Legion era. Those pods were packed. That's more than a chapter worth of marines being deployed. (12 per pod) I mean, yeah, Dawn of War 1 intro did not skimp on them. That's cool. But 'Blood Angels' featured 2 (TWO!) pods... I only want to see some epic, beautifully done deployment footage! Is it too much to ask for?

I'm blown away , this needs to be done as a epic series building to the climatic end

Very pretty. We’ll have to wait several years before 8K becomes as viable and affordable as 4K. Most cable programming is still “1080” (upscaled 720 in my honest opinion). The hardware required doesn’t really exist yet. Even the most badass gaming PCs struggle at pushing 4K with all graphical options maxed out. The bandwidth may also prove to be a hurdle for streaming 8K. The details and contrast are definitely awesome though.

I would have been far more impressed with this had everything looked less like their toy counterparts, I know that's the look they were going for as it tied in with the boxset, but it could have had a real cool edge to it..... still, the future is promising.

Traitors are dying as fast as their drop pods arriving, that's insane. How many drop pods can one ship hold? And how many space marines can fit in one drop pod? at 1:11 I counted roughly 90+ drop pods, and that's just from one ship. I barely know about Warhammer universe as I first heard anything about Warhammer when Astartes part five was released 2 years ago.
