The flying baby is a Cherub, a lab grown baby with wings. They are used usually to carry ammo around and other miscellaneous tasks. That one might be recording the firing squad, as a warning to other guardsmen.

@ChompStudio To be more precise, it's a Cherub Servitor. Due to the overwhelming fear the Adeptus Mechanicus has towards AI, all computer-driven systems must be powered by an organic brain. These can be either vat-grown (basically an empty organic shell) or converted from living humans (usually as a punishment for high crimes). They are then cybernetically adapted and enhanced to suit whatever the task at hand may be. It should be noted that Cherubs are only one type of Servitor, of which there are many, many more.

8:00 - Please look at the servitor to the right (behind еру tyranid warrior with venom cannon) - a man without arms and legs who is forever BUILT into a church organ and performs the function of playing a musical instrument. Yes, THIS is the universe we are talking about.

@@ChompStudioYep;) it's a sort of PUNISHMENT in 40k - if a man is guilty - he become a robotic lobotomized slave servant to do simple tasks. There is no such things as "individual rights" - and the majority of eatables in Hive Cities (like in this video) is freaking corpse-starch: a synthetic food source created from the recycled Human dead of the hive cities on many of the Hive Worlds of the Imperium of Man (with some proteins and vitamins added). It's a VERY dystopian universe, and each of factions/races has such skeletons in their closets.

@ChompStudio that's not even the craziest aspect of this universe. The God Emperor of Mankind is kept alive by consuming the souls of 1000 psykers a day as a result of the events of the Horus Hersey. Imagine the president consuming 1000 fully grown adults every day to stay alive. 😅

@@Whiskey11Gaming But if He dies truly - the Warp (Chaos) will consume the galaxy immediately, all sentient life is basically gone. So it's a good alternative, coz there are billions millions of humans in 40k.

For context: You are playing as Titus from Space Marine 1. He is from the Space Marine chapter named the Ultramarines. They are one the oldest chapters in the Imperium. You, as Titus, are on a doomed world fighting the Tyranid Swarm with the Imperial Guard group called the Cadian Guard or Cadians. The Tyranids come in many different shapes and sizes as seen in the gameplay. The flying ones are also Tyranids. The scariest info about them is that they entered the galaxy not from one side, but multiple sides, implying they are surrounding the galaxy. At the end of the video, just before your breakdown section, Titus is in an area where the land is levitating. That is Chaos(Demons/Hell and yes you read that right). The faction they sent specifically is the Thousand Sons Space Marine Legion, Space Marines who left the Imperium and joined Chaos. The flying baby is baby that flies.

a flying child is a servo robot, a child from whom part of the brain has been removed and programmed for certain actions (artificial intelligence is prohibited in the Imperium, so they do this), these children usually bring ammunition and other supplies to the battlefield

This isn't entirely accurate. Most instances in the lore have the cherubs as being created in artificial wombs for these specific tasks. So they are not really taking babies and lobotomizing them, rather they are created artificially for these roles. Brutal, yes, but not quite as brutal.@@ChompStudio

In the world of Warhammer, fully artificial robots are illegal. But hijacking a corpse with technology, or lobotomizing, a living human being, and using their body as a framework for a robot is allowed. Infants are no exception, and they are robots are used to typically to make flying cherub type servitors. Similar in size and function to floating robotic, skulls, known as servo skulls.

One of the things with 40K is everything is a factory, church, or factory/church and it's all falling apart. They also build giant hive cities which are huge cities with billions living in it and they can get high enough that they breach the cloud layer. Also, the higher you go the nicer it is (rich people live in the non-polluted air at the top, and the lower you go the poorer it gets). So, this does fill the 40k decor for a human city. With the worship thing though, I think it's trickier than people think. These are Cadians and the timeline is after the fall of Cadia. I don't know if this particular regiment was on Cadia near the end, but they have the position of coming from a fortress world where a literal hell portal was in the night sky for over 10,000 years and during the final war for Cadia everyone was sending space marines to help defend it. The prestige of seeing a space marine kind of wore off on them just from fighting with and against space marines constantly. Out of most Gaurdsmen, I feel Cadian's are the least likely to faun over marines next to Catachan. But Catachans come from a world where you have giant scorpion centipedes that 1 v 1 tanks bigger than the one that took down the door in this trailer no problem, so they are not impressed easy. The other thing is most space marines actually don't like people worshiping them like that. At best they tend to find it tiresome, at worst disturbing.

The emperor is like Jesus in this lore you know . There task are many but used for many things like cracked code , carry ammo and many other thing but also the respect in the power of the imperium .

I know it's a live action movie, and not the usual sort of thing you do on your channel, but can you do a reaction to battle los angles. Both the design work, and the animation for the aliens is great, as well as being one of the last few big budget movies iv'e seen with a show don't tell philosophy. Which from seeing your previous videos. Is something you highly appreciate, and will allow you give the film more fair criticism then most others. Who do not really use their eyeballs, and miss 70 percent of the plot because of it. Especially regarding the aliens, and their motivation

i was mainly thinking the whole movie. obviously you can edit the video down to be shorter in length like skipping past your reaction the initial prologue where your introduced to the characters. There is so much vfx i do not really think it's worth doing a single scene. Also as i've earlier there's a'lot in the movie people miss since a majority of the story is told visually. Especially regarding the aliens. That someone like you might find interesting @@ChompStudio
