Respect to the Cultist going two rounds of fisticuffs with a Marine. The unknown nature of melee is awesome in this iteration!

Man the chaos champion had such a cool setup . Feels like he should have been in full cover with a hidden order to try and wade in to melee starting second round . Eating all that damage turn one and having to retreat into cover really gimped him

The 'hot' rule for plasma does 3MW, not just 1 :)

Great stuff Ash. For the record, it is true that the Astartes are somewhat limited, but you can ofc pick multiple fireteams in your roster (i.e. 10 Reavers, 5 Assault Intercassors, 5 Intercessors), and chose the one you need for that specific mission. In a way they have way more flexibillity than any other faction.

The Tactical Squad actually eats up all 20 slots on a roster (6 Specials and Heavy Options, Five Bolters and 9 Sergeant Configs). But yes, next mission you’ll see exactly that for the Astartes.

A 5-man Reiver squad provides some movement flexibility that a tactical squad won't have, perhaps other options are also preferable against certain opponents. Besides, a tactical squad is never going to take all 5 bolters as you'll always throw in a special and very likely a heavy. And does one really need 9 Sgt. configs?

These games are so brutal. I can't wait to get my box set and start playing!

These Kill Team games have been awesome!

Just so people know, you can't take two CSM Gunners in the same Kill Team (in other words, one Fire Team has a Gunner, the other Fire Team can have the Heavy Gunner, but you cannot have two Fire Teams with Gunners within the same Kill Team). You can, however, have all the options of Gunners in your Roster.

For your astartes roster you could also just choose a different type of marine to fill out the rest of your list. The only restriction on your list is that when you select your team for a game it fulfills the restrictions for your factions' fire teams. If you really wanted, your astartes roster could just be one of each of the 5-man fire team options

@@starlord157 it is! In the core rulebook for kill team '21, the matched roster system has the following restrictions: 1 - all operatives have to share a faction keyword (ex. Space Marine, Hunter Cadre, etc.) 2 - max 20 operatives in a roster 3 - wargear selections must be made when operatives are added to the roster 4 - You must be able to deploy a minimum of one kill team from your roster. (This one is the relevant one, so I copied it verbatim) 5: All operatives with the same selectable keyword must select the same keyword (ex. Dark Angels, Farsight Enclaves. There are no rules associated with selectable keywords in the compendium, not sure if the same applies to the Octarius factions)

Its so nice to see that Chaos can hang on vs normal marines in Kill Team while in 40k they STILL didnt give them the 2nd wound...

Love the KT videos! Keep em coming! An idea. Perhaps you could skip the tac ops selection (we don't really see anything) and maybe just explain to us what tac ops you selected and why. I guess you could record that after the game and edit it in. Just a suggestion. Videos are great, keep it up!

I just “hate” that you can’t mix n match units…. Would be so much more interesting fluff and crunch wise if you could mix in assault intercession with regular intercession for instance….

@@freeadvice1695 It's a sacrifice i'd make if we get a balanced meta. Mix and match Astartes weren't viable in the last version, at least now each of the fireteams are competitive.

I really want to try out some Grav guns in my Tactical Marine kill team. I know it has -1 damage compared to the plasma gun, but I really like the Lethal 4+ against other marine teams.

Like for the Tactical Squad. Glad to see that the old Boltermarines can do something in KT. Damn you were unlucky with so many roles and initiatives. Hope for a rematch!

Judging by the battle I had against my brother with watered down rules(Was just playing so he can get the hang of combat and basic rules) They are probably a little stronger. I was playing Intercessors so he was fighting the most basic thing possible. The Heavy Bolter with one of the two equipment upgrades was commonly 1 shotting marines. So that along with the plasma in a single team is immensely strong. And the leader is a beast in combat with the extra attack from the equipment. 6 attacks hitting on 2+ with lethal 5+.

So the flamer at the start couldn't hit all 3 unless they were all within range of each other that guy in the back right side of your table seemed a bit far from the front left guy

You know that the roster is to have different fire team options. So you could have a tac fire team with a few options and then a reiver team and another primaris team.

Yes, but the Tac fire Team fills a lot of roster if you take basic Sergeant options, special and heavy slots. You’re looking at 14 just for them. And the point was to play non Primaris so that’s the only real option. Heck it’s all twenty slots just for Tactical marines because there’s 9 Sergeants, 6 Heavy and Specials and you always can take 5 Bolters.

Plasma and missiles usually Just One shot stuff in a single APL. Much better than a double firing boltgun

That's old KillTeam, the new game (released tomorrow!) Uses pre-set choices of 'Fire Teams' instead of points.

No points anymore. Restricted list building is used now. For example a tac squad is 6 guys. 1 is a sergeant who can select from a list of options. Then 5 marines with bolters. 1 of those can be exchanged for heavy gunner with missile or heavy bolter. One other guy can be exchanged for a gunner who has plasma, melta, flamer, or grav.

​ @Brad P Yeah well I prefer the old rules and I don't like complex rules that this game just came out. I mean they just made pariah nexus obsolete. This feels like it messes things up a bit more for those who'll want to keep playing The Old Kill Team.

It was not to my liking and a buddy of mine also shares my exact thoughts because we are not gonna throw away what we learned from the old rules just to learn this new set of rules. So old rules are better than this utter trash that tries to pass of as Kill Team but hey whatever floats your boat.

The Astartes player was such a horrible opponent. I hate playing people like him. Nitpicking all the time and saying you chose one guy when you clearly chose another. Claiming to hit on fours and then actually use 3s as successful hits. Ugh

Why do you guys never use the stealth approach? First turn Is Always a slugfest shoot everything and then it's all down to luck. I'd advise you to build tables with more LoS blocking terrain and use stealth much more, make It a tactical game.
