This is included when you buy the Night Lords omnibus. I didn't even realize it was a separate story. "My right to destroy is greater than your right to live" is one of the most memorable 40k lines to me.

It's staggering the amount of lore that Aaron Dembski Bowden was able to imbue into the NightLords Omnibus. It was my first foray into the Warhammer 40K novels, and a good thing at that.

Out of all the writers, ADB probably pens the BEST multiple interactions between characters. Everything is fluid and full of snap remarks or deep pondering that you can mentally visualize

For what it is worth Prince, this was the first piece of writing I read on the 'Night Lords' Omnibus I encountered before the 1st book happened. This is really good as an intro to the series with Talos. Decimus, needs to be done. He needs, to be shown.

I love the bro moments of Talos' squad. They're so relatable.

Night Haunter, another Primarch who just broke psychologically. That is actually an interesting fact, Corvus Corax and Curse. Each are mirror of each other, both legions specialize in stealth operations. One is loyalist and another traitor yet they are the only primarchs who were torn down mentally. Third legion specializing in stealth is Alpha legion, interestingly, their primarchs also were split and thus not of one mind.

@@joshuagraham967 Dorn who literally tried to use Perturabo's magic fortress as a means to torture himself and would have gotten his entire legion wiped out taking a single fort had the Ultramarines not shown up at the eleventh hour and pulled him out of the fire? All of this, without even Perturabo or the majority of his forces even being present? Dorn who's legion nearly died to the last taking a fort thrown together as a joke by Perturabo? That Dorn?

Being of shadow comes with a price. They were idealistic, and the heresy shattered those ideals. Corax saw a future beyond the great crusade, a time of peace where he could step away from the front line and live the closest thing he could to a human life. Failures plagued his mind and even stopped his own body from naturally healing, the Ravenlord fighting on with cracked and broken ribs, bleeding as much in body as in mind. Curze was similarly tortured. His sense of justice dueling with his morality. In the end neither side could win and so what was right and what was just, cracked him 2. I suppose in the end, justice and righteousness became one when he allowed the assassin to end his tyrany and terror. One found redemption in allowing death to take them. The other, seeks redemption through vengeance until he is slain or the chaos gods themselves lay dead and broken at his feet.

The Night Lords Omnibus is the trilogy of books that hooked me on to the Night Lords. That last battle on their homeworld, perfection...

Not a big fan of the traitor legions but this was badass. Makes me like the night lords even more!

Your gathering storm:fall of Cadia series is by far my favorite thing on KZread. I literally listen to it every night as I fall asleep. I can't thank you enough for this content and hope another 4 hour video series is on the way!

Shadow Knight kicks off the Night Lords omnibus and sets up the first full length novel, Soul Hunter. I haven't finished the omnibus yet but it's so good I'd put up there with the Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies. So I've bought more ADB novels.

Those were some cool effects with the multiple simultaneous voices. Nice work!

ahhh yeah understand now, its not part of the indivudal novels or the audiobook, only in the omnibus. so it depends what you have read whether you know this. Nah GW have a proper version of night lords now i only did this because i never seen it before.

Loved it! Thank you! Just finished listening to the Night Lords trilogy as audiobooks recently. Did you ever check out the audiobook versions? Andrew Wincott's performance propelled the Night Lords to favorite legion status for me. Also, perhaps you could read "The Core" some time? It's about 1st Claw, and it's in the "Fear the Alien" anthology.

@@ABorderPrince great stuff tho, i recently went through the night lords audio books and i can't rember this at all. Pretty happy to hear something new from first claw! Ty my man for the narration. Also voices were pretty good the only thing that was different from the audiobooks was the accents, but that diddnt really matter to me ^^

@@ABorderPrince I listened to all three novels as audiobooks myself. Incidentally, they give all the Night Lords a peculiar (roughly East European) accent. It doesn't come across as quite as corny as I make it sound though.

buried dagger yeah for mortarian, and book 5 of the heresy fulgrim is really good. Its hard to say really the heresy books in general usually have this stuff in due to the nature of the conflict. fabius is good because he dislikes chaos so you see it from his perspective, if you weant something known heresy. or the kharn novels because kharn is awesome

The Blood Gorgon trilogy is quite good at that shame a lot of it was rip for a RL soldiers memoir but still a good read and the last changer 3rd novel is another good one about the decent and Saint Sabbat of gaunt ghost is good more about the descent of one solider

I think the only fault I could sincerely state with the voices chosen is fairly obvious, but hardly blameworthy: it's an ADB story starring Night Lords. Voices weren't edgy enough. Heh.
