If I'm not wrong, there is an additional synergy between shields and volt's first ability, namely if you cast 1 on the shield, it effectively becames electric trap, unless they've changed it. I'll need to check if that still works.

That is correct !

Terrify works extremely well with Discharge and, by extension, Capacitance. I have it subsumed over Shock. It gets most of the stuff that I do done.

Volt is nice until you do Capture/Exterminate Void Fissures as Titania and constantly ram your face on walls from Volt's speed buff.

i also realised that with volt and nourish, you only need to run toxin on weapons. Base toxin on weapons plus shock trooper augment makes corrosive, and with nourish gives viral. It means you can mod for other things in the 3 freed up mod slots.

if you mod for heat, youll get radiation since heat take priority, or get gas in your weapon due to heat + toxin combination

There's one problem with volt. His shield ability allows you to pick shields up with the same key that is interact which is x by default, which is very very awkward especially if you have to also pick up disruption keys or ayatan stars. Also carrying a shield recently had it's energy drain removed but something is leftover in the code so it blocks energy pads and is more or less considered as a channeled ability which makes me never wanna be carrying a shield. DE just needs to make it a hold to cast to get a carried shield straight away without the need to pick it up and allow energy pads to work with it because it isn't supposed to be a channeled ability anymore

So he’s literally the frame that can be built for every kind of build 1. The All rounder weapon platform, they are great if you don’t know what kind of mission you’re going to throw yourself into, volt in particular allows you to be a melee weapon platform as well. 2. Ability spammer, AND ALONG CAME ZOOS. 3. SpEeEeEeEeEeD!(he is faster than gusse fight me) 4. Littoral the Enforcer from risk of rain.

I love volt, he was the second frame i've played first aftet excal back in 2013. You are so right about Volt being flexible. My main build is a normal, buff your teammates jack-of-all-trades build. My second build, however is a melee maniac with gloom slapped on his 4th with minimal range but maximum STR and duration. I also slapped 5 blue archon shards as armor so i can make use of rage and adaptation. I am having a blast with my second build.

As someone who recently started to do the Steel Path Circuit, Volt is probably my favorite when he pops up, along with Voruna, since her new augment she's really fun to play.

Honestly loving the but why series. Do you have any tips for the crossplay returning players or will you be doing some videos for "what was new in year x and where to farm it" or something similar?

With the update coming up, newer players may end up with a ton of Arcane Consequence (Common in same pool as energize), before you convert them back to Vosfor: It's just a generally underrated arcane, but if you're a Mag player, TRY IT. Bubbles redirect bullets to the head, so you just have crazy mobility up all the time, and the team can trigger theirs too. If you're starting out with a buddy and one is Volt while the other is Mag, this is speed. I wonder if Wisp's Breach Surge can trigger it when it gets incidental headshots? I'm still waiting for a super comfy and fast headshot-homing weapon, preferably a 2ndary, something to keep an eye out for.

Don't forget, the Speed can also speed up NPC allies such as escort drones, defectors, rescue operatives, those Zariman ghost holograms, etc. It's also infamous for griefing other players when you're trying to navigate narrow catwalks, and keep getting zapped so you fly off the map. *shakes fist^

Ive mained volt since i started and got the prime very very shortly after for 120p. I started when nidus came out (im almost at legend 2 and hes still over 30% of my play time) Couple of synergies with abilities. Using shock on the shield electrifies it causing enemies to be damaged when touching it (think it can also stun them with electric proc) and allows the riot shield to ragdoll when running into enemies. Using shock on enemies hit with his 4 causes them to explode with electricity in a small aoe. Doesnt do a lot of damage but its there. Love the shield gating change bc for high level stuff i can now drop rolling guard and use adaptation to be even more tanky. My main set up is balance using the archon stretch and umbral intensify. He is the only wf ive boight more loadout slots for and appearance slots.

Volt is the most versatile frame in the game. He is used in almost every party comp. He is the main DPS for eidolon captures. He is used in meta arbitration comps due to his shock trooper augment. He can nuke ESO/SO. He can shield-gate really well so he scales really well into level caps. For General use, his 2 is perfect for speeding up missions. His 3 is perfect for amping up damage for projectiles that have strict buffing capabilities. So yeah, he is basically the best frame in the game. That's why

u can also cast his first on eletric sheild to boost its damage when mobs walk through it adds 100% of shocks damage to the sheild. soo could be really usefull on low lvl defence missions as it will just kill any mob that walks through it

Volt was my first Warframe. I dropped him immediately because at the time DE gave away Trinity Prime for free and I realized she is immortal. Never even got the prime.

I have 6 volt builds on a 12 forma volt. Currently farming another volt prime to forma and make different builds with. Also level cap volt I use 145% range 45% eff 128% strength 299% strength. Arcane energise + molt augmented. I subsumed nourish replacing 1st ability. Use primed flow and nexus snd you never run out of energy. Use your 4th to top up your overshields and have fun with your 2nd and use ur 3rd to buff damage. Any enemies that wre too tanky switch to operator snd back to get the 50% casting speed buff stack 6 shields and melt anything

Volt has always been great, especially with weapons with heavy reload or melee swing speed. This is coming from someone who uses a shotgun that has 3.0 reload speed and a great sword with 0.8 swing speed. It's very nice not to mention it opens up weapons some ways you wouldn't think of I some cases.

Did he forget about the backflip thing on Speed? If an allied Volt has too much Speed for you, backflipping will remove the buff.

For 5 seconds until the Volt spams it again. And again. RIP Rolling Guard, hello Backflip Simulator for the rest of the mission. Any allied Volt should be building for minimum range if they're going to spam. Moreover, 'too much Speed for you' is a conceit that needs to go. Handling it isn't hard in the slightest, but it takes over the mission entirely with one player unilaterally deciding that - a player who has no way of knowing anyone else's position and whether Speed is welcome or harmful but just spams it anyway. We need a better opt-out and we've needed it for many years.

Bro im glad i found this vid. Im like MR 15, and i was wondering this exact thing yesterday.

I just wish they would add a Hold/Tap function to shield so I can just instant cast the riot shield and carry it around and then volt would be perfect. One of my top 3 favorite frames alongside gauss for sure

A bit late but the second ability‘s augment also triggers Archon stretch for easy energy replenishment

Volt seems like THE allrounder frame, bring him anywhere and he is good. Maybe not as good at one specific thing unlike other frames, but he gets the job done.

An additional note on Volt. You can actually turn him into an OP melee frame with his 2 and a fast attack melee weapon. It almost doesn’t matter how much damage the melee weapon does because even if you’re only doing 1 damage per swing you swing about a million times a second!

People play Volt for the same reason I and many others play Wisp, a warframe that can do a vast majority of content all on there own is really nice.

Volt and Sayrn I use almost exclusively for leveling weapons in Elite Sanctuary Onslaught, as for affinity I use Equinox.

Hi just to add; the reason why people recommend excalibur instead of volt at the start is because volt requires mods to be the god useful. You don’t start with range mods, shock trooper etc, by then you get volt. Compared to excalibur who just presses 4 with basic survivability mods to do decent.

Nah the reason people recommended Excalibur as a starter was because he used to be the latest one you could farm by far, whereas Mag was on Mars and Volt is in the dojo. This is no longer true so tbh Volt is the best starter now. Excal isn't really any less mod dependent than Volt or Mag.

I think volt has more utility from the very start imo, especially with the shield.

I picked volt as my starter when I started playing. It took, no joke, over 700 hours before the game coughed up intensify. I got real, real good at using volt for defensive and CC purposes, and it's as true now as it was then: volt is and always has been flexible and useful in most situations, and imo, the player base has slept on him until fairly recently

I started with Volt and have remained a Volt main the entire time. I use Revenant for Index runs and sometimes for ESO as well as Dante when I want to provide support, but otherwise, I only play Volt. I have a melee-focused build with the new Harmony scythe and Diriga. It absolutely wrecks in SP. I've done over 2 billion damage in a single hit with that. Volt is absurdly versatile! Capacitance and Shocking Speed are must-haves. Shocking Speed is mainly a must-have for melee builds with Condition Overload. Subsumed Roar is tasty.

I replaced shock trooper with Nourish cause it's Nourish lol. Yeah who knew changing some small things with how shield works after 10 years made SO MANY frames suddenly tanky and viable even without an instant invincibility button. I hated Mag and Volt for a long time cause they were too squishy for me but after the shield gate changes, they got so tanky with constant shield generation and stuff that I get excited to see them in my SP Circuit runs cause I know they will make my life extremely easy.

Shocking Speed is so underrated. It's a sure electric proc... Add melee with corrosive, slash (I use Prisma Ohma ridiculous crit dmg) , replace volt's 1 with Nezha's 2 and now you can proc heat 100% = 4 status effect on those alone, imagine adding primary and secondary combo.

I don't know if Im the only one but I LOVE MCgamerCZ's accent.

DE should add a "But Why?" button in the game and just link to your videos. Super helpful.

Sometimes I don't want to get a meth boost from Volt, so I do like that you can opt out with a backflip.

Because he’s the best warframe with resetting combos & has built in fury/reload. Put kull ability on him & now he’s the flash & Op I only use 1 weapon (melee)

Cuz he is thee most versatile frame in the game hands down. Especially since helminth, he can be built for literally any purpose and do it better than any other frame.

I basically exclusively use Volt or Nekros, Volt if I want to finish an objective faster, and Nekros for endurance missions and additional loot

All frames are popular just for different things. Mesa and Rhino for index, necros khora and hydroid for looting, wisp, necros, mesa for relic/endless mission like defense, survival etc, xaku for deimos farming, nezha volt gauss Titania for fast missions etc etc.

It's a sign of a gam's.health the fact that 2 out of 3 starter frames are really good. I wish Excalibur received a rework to be on par with the others.

I'm a hardcore atheist, but the day my Volt got an AoE strip from Terrify I thanked several gods. I love Volt, im sure people will fight me on this but compared to all other Jack-of-all-Trades-frames, hes the most jacked.

Because he has more protagonist energy than Excalibur does. Video done. No, I'm not obscenely biased, what do you mean? Also, don't sleep on Shocking Speed, MC. If you build Volt for melee, the fact that you have constant stun procs when slicing up enemies offers far more convenience than you would expect. Pair that with his riot shield rework where he doesn't lose speed anymore, plus Capacitance to upkeep shields on your Warframe, and you have what you need for some very intense melee action.

this is exactly why i have 600 hrs in this game and half of it is in volt

Unfortunately yes, this means you overshoot your jumps or smack walls when volt suddenly uses speed which you aren't ready for. It's worst for titania. You can get rid of it by backflipping but that isn't an effective solution when the volt spams the ability and you are back to square one
