To hibernate with bears, is a metaphore for being in the womb for nine months. The Bear is the "Fylgja" - a part of your soul. The song is about dying (sinking into darkness) and being stripped of all that is "you" Only the core standing, the shell is shredded. Then you move again from the light to the womb - and hibernate with bears. In the end you are reborn. All anew. It's a song about the circle of life. Death-rebirth. The heart counsels and decides your fate.

I don't always listen to Wardruna, but when I do, so do my neighbours 🙂

I listen to Wardruna anytime I'm by myself. I love especially listening to them when Im walking in the mountains. And during autumn storms or winter storms. Their music enhance the feeling I get from the dramatic and powerful nature we have here in Norway (at least Western Norway where I live). Their music "fits" with this nature. I tried listening to them in sunny Spain on the beach once. That felt very wrong...
