I’ve always loved white button downs, so I own a lot of them! One frustration has always been the need to iron them, which I’m skilled at doing, but I have to be in the right mood. Recently as I shopped at Walmart, I decided to buy a Time and Tru button down, as recommended by other KZreadrs. It felt like fine cotton, instead of the mainly polyester blend. After washing, I was shocked that I didn’t need to iron it. Great buy for under $15. A great option for those who want to build an essential wardrobe on a budget!

Oooh, I have all except the camel coat, the slipdress, the bodysuit, and the denim jacket. I can definitely attest to the magic of basics. I call them my "adult garanimals" haha

About ten years ago I finally figured out I needed my closet filled with basics and not trendy, cool stuff that isn't practical for everyday professional to casual wear. I'm happy to say after watching the video I'm good. The only item I don't have is a black slip dress but I do have several black dresses that serve my needs well. Thanks for the video and I'll say it too; having the right things in my wardrobe makes getting dressed everyday so much easier. I'll add that it makes packing, for business travel or pleasure easier too.

I absolutely love the Veronica Beard blazer., worth the money. Of course I bought it right before lock down and have hardly worn it but it looks amazing on. Have you tried the matching pants? I just wish VB had more options for the dickeys and some more catered to warmer weather. I am 5’3 and had to have the arms shortened but otherwise it fits like a dream. I tried to answer another question you posted but I don't see it. If you find that the Scuba jacket needs to be altered, try the Scuba Schoolboy. It is cut more for petites.

Try Express jeans, they come in various lengths, like petite, regular, long and tall and they are good quality and they always go on sale. Also, most NYDJ jeans at Nordstrom (on sale right now), Macy’s, Neiman Marcus have 33” inseam. And I just rediscovered GAP, some of their tops come in tall and their white shirts are lovely and they also come in tall sizes. T-shirts and camisoles are generally ok sizes for everyone. Balmain Blazers come in an oversize style, great for tall ladies, really cute. Also check out men’s section for blazers, some of my favorite blazers and tees are from the men’s section 😅. I am 5’7” by the way! Good luck in your search. 😊

I enjoy your videos. Sometimes it's hard to follow your numbering of the items when you list them. I count 16 items in this video. I can get 17 if you count both black skinny and faded skinny jeans as two separate entries but you discuss them as an either-or item not as two separate entries, so I'm not sure if I missed something else. Not a big deal but it would help if you numbered the items when you list them to follow the numbers in your video. 1. I want to add jackets and blazers but can't find one that fits my: broad shoulders, tall frame, 30C, and slim torso its frustrating I've been everywhere and can't find one.

Heather I’ve been trying to find a black leather jacket that I like without any luck. I think it’s the color that’s not working well on me. I love black but the leather does something to the style and how it looks on me. What do you suggest? I want to still have a very versatile piece in my wardrobe.

Agree. Heather has the perfect body to wear anything. Certain ages and body types would have to edit this list appropriately. I would love to wear everything on the list, but as a senior woman, I cannot wear a slip dress or sleeveless cami. At my age, even if in great shape, these looks just do not work with old skin.

I enjoy your videos, but your recommendations are fairly pricey and from companies that most people across the US don't shop with. Even though I can afford them I would never pay those prices. It's just unnecessary and impractical. Just because an item is more expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's better quality. If I have to scout for the cheaper version myself than your videos aren't as helpful as they could be. What you consider the more budget friendly version is more like the expensive version for most women. Something to consider if you want a broader audience for your channel.
